POPSUGAR Must Have Review: November 2017

Hello, hello!

It’s time for my monthly, POPSUGAR Must Have review! If you follow me on Instagram, then you might’ve caught my short, unboxing video last week.  I like doing a short video on Instagram each month to give you all a “first impression” style unboxing with my initial opinions on each product! If you don’t know what I’m talking about, then you should follow me on IG! @pinkbowstwinkletoes

POPSUGAR Must Have Review: November 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

POPSUGAR Must Have Review: November 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Unqualified by Anna Faris – Retail Value $28

I read all the time, so I enjoy when POPSUGAR includes books in their boxes. I loved the Lisa Sugar book from last October’s PS box!

My life has been a little hectic lately, so I haven’t had a chance to dive into this book yet. From what I know of Anna Faris and what I’ve read on the back cover, I think this is going to be a great read!

POPSUGAR Must Have Review: November 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

tarte cosmetics – tarteist PRO Glow to Go Highlight & Contour Palette – Retail Value $23

I love tarte products, but I don’t like to contour! So instead of contouring with this palette, I’ve been using it as eyeshadow for the past week!

The middle powder is a little too yellow for me, so I’m not using that one. The top and bottom ones are just right though! I like using the top, shimmery powder all over my lid and the bottom, brown powder in my crease. Perfect for a daytime look!

POPSUGAR Must Have Review: November 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Hester & Cook – Chalkboard Paper Placement Pad & Set of 4 Chalk Style Pencils – Retail Value $25

If you watched my Instagram Story, then you know how excited I got when I pulled these gorgeous pencils out of my box! If you didn’t already know this, I have a HUGE thing for pretty stationery products!

I love the pencil and placemat combo! I think the idea behind these products is just adorable! I don’t want to waste any of the mats, so I haven’t experimented with them yet. I’m going to save this set for a special occasion!

POPSUGAR Must Have Review: November 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Chloe + Isabel – Jen Atkin x Chloe + Isabel Split Headband – Retail Value $22

I love headbands! I used to wear them all the time in middle and high school. I haven’t worn them too much in recent years though because I started wearing my glasses again. Wearing glasses and a headband at the same time is just too much for me! I can’t handle all that behind my ears at one time!

This headband is so gorgeous though that I think I’m going to have to break out my contacts again so I can wear it comfortably!

Also, that rose gold is fantastic and will go with pretty much any outfit!

POPSUGAR Must Have Review: November 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Knot & Bow – Holiday Mint Newsprint Gift Wrap – Retail Value $6

I have heard SO much about Knot & Bow over the last few months, so I’m very excited to try it out!

This pattern is super cute! It isn’t very “holiday” though. I think it’s better suited as birthday gift wrap.  My brother’s birthday is coming up in December, so I think I’ll wrap his gift in this!

POPSUGAR Must Have Review: November 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Fatty Sundays – Peppermint Chocolate-Covered Pretzels – Retail Value $3.49

I’m all for the sweet + salty snacks! There’s just something about chocolate and pretzels mixed together that’s hard to beat! Throw in a little peppermint, and you have the perfect Christmas treat! YUM!

I also really love the name of this brand! Fatty Sundays is just too funny! 🙂

POPSUGAR Must Have Review: November 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

This month’s POPSUGAR Must Have box has a total retail value of $107.49. That’s a pretty low value for POPSUGAR. The boxes are only $40 though, so I’m still coming out on top!

There are so many great items in the November box that I’m having trouble choosing my favorites!

PLAY! by Sephora Review: October 2017

Happy Halloween!

I wanted to test the October products for a little while longer this month, so I pushed back my review until the last possible moment!

PLAY! by Sephora Review: October 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

“Complexion Companions” is the theme for the October box! All of this month’s products (aside from the fragrance sample) are complexion-related.

This month’s PLAY!BOOK features an adorable “get ready with me” series full of tips and tricks to prepare your face for the day.

PLAY! by Sephora Review: October 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Box Contents:

  • Becca – First Light Filter Face Primer
  • Make Up For Ever – Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation
  • Laura Mercier – Translucent Powder
  • Cover FX – Custom Enhancer Drops
  • Make Up For Ever – Ultra HD Skin Booster
  • Chanel – Gabrielle Chanel
  • Drawstring Bag

PLAY! by Sephora Review: October 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Becca – First Light Filter Face Primer

You know me well enough by now to know how much I love trying new primers!

This Becca primer is the prettiest shade of lilac and is very thin and lightweight. The primer is so light that I actually think the bottle feels half empty.

There’s nothing that excites me about this primer (aside from the color!) I don’t love it enough to by the full size, but I will be finishing up this little tube.

PLAY! by Sephora Review: October 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Make Up For Ever – Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation in R230

I can’t tell you how excited I was when I pulled this foundation sample out of my PLAY! bag. If you watched my IG Story a few weeks ago, you can attest that I was very pleased!

One of the two foundations that I currently switch off between each day is actually Make Up For Ever Ultra HD. I’ve been using it for several years now and absolutely love the formula and the coverage!

Unfortunately, the shade I received in this month’s box doesn’t work for me. However, my PLAY!BOOK says that I can go into a Sephora store with my PLAY!PASS and get a sample that’s just right for me! (I wear shade Y235.) That is fantastic news!

Make Up For Ever – Ultra HD Skin Booster

As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I put off writing this review for a week or so because I wanted to really get an in-depth feel for a few of the products. This skin booster was one of the products that I needed a little more time with.

My PLAY!BOOK says that this product is “a skin-perfecting serum that plumps, smooths, and hydrates your skin for flawless makeup application.”

I’ve used the skin booster several times and haven’t noticed any difference in my makeup application. I think this might be one of those products that just doesn’t work for me.

PLAY! by Sephora Review: October 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Laura Mercier – Translucent Powder

A few months back, I went on a mission to find my new, favorite setting powder. I used the Urban Decay loose powder for years and LOVED it. Over the last few years, it’s become increasingly difficult to find. Because of that, I decided to abandon ship and find a powder that worked just as well but was easier to come by.

While on that mission, I tried the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder.  I thought it was going to be my new favorite, but alas, I was wrong. This powder is a little chunkier and perhaps slightly more moist than I would like.

Eventually, I settled on the bareminerals Mineral Veil loose powder. Their powder is nice and fine and perfectly suits my needs.

Even though I didn’t find the Laura Mercier powder to be my favorite, I’ll still save this sample and use it in a pinch!

PLAY! by Sephora Review: October 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Cover FX – Custom Enhancer Drops in Moonlight

Cover FX drops have interested me for months now. I heard about their Custom Cover Drops at an in-store PLAY! event and have wanted to try them ever since.

These drops are slightly different but are still the same idea. All you have to do is add a few drops to your foundation and then apply to the areas of your face where you’d like a little highlight.

I’m not the best at highlighting my face. I usually stay away from contouring products, because I don’t want to accidentally make myself look like a clown! However, these drops were super easy to use! I’m going to save them for special events when I want to add a little extra glow to my face.

PLAY! by Sephora Review: October 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Chanel – Gabrielle Chanel

You know by now that perfume and I don’t get along! 😉

POPSUGAR Must Have Review: October 2017

Hello, hello!

It’s time for my monthly POPSUGAR Must Have review! If you follow me on Instagram, then you might’ve seen the unboxing I did in my Stories last week. I’ve started doing “first impression” style unboxings over the last few months, and y’all seem to really be enjoying them! If you want to get in on the unboxing fun, follow me on Instagram!

POPSUGAR Must Have Review: October 2017

The October box came with a HUGE product information card! That must mean there’s tons of good stuff in the box, right? 😉

“dreamy, slumber, sleep, de-stress, cozy, bedtime” are the theme words for the month. Once you see everything that came inside, I’m sure you’ll agree with me when I say that they rocked the theme this month!

Box Contents:

  • Lollia Life – Dream Perfumed Shower Gel
  • Patchology – FlashPatch Restoring Night Eye Gels
  • Nature’s Bakery – Double Chocolate Brownie
  • Framebridge – $30 Gift Card
  • Perpetual Shade – Dream On Cotton Lux Sleep Mask
  • Jack + Lucy – Pillow and Blanket Set
  • Keurig – The Original Donut Shop Coffee K-Cup Pods
  • Aquaphor – Advanced Therapy Ointment Body Spray
  • Quaker – Overnight Oats

POPSUGAR Must Have Review: October 2017

Lollia Life – Dream Perfumed Shower Gel – Retail Value $22

I don’t think I’ve ever seen such pretty packaging! WOW! The navy and light gold foil are just incredible! I’m a sucker for packaging so you can bet this quickly became my favorite product from the October box.

Also, it smells fantastic!

POPSUGAR Must Have Review: October 2017

Patchology – FlashPatch Restoring Night Eye Gels – Retail Value $20

A relaxation-themed box just wouldn’t be complete without some sort of mask!  I’ve received eye gels in past boxes and think they’re a funny product. You just can’t wear them without looking goofy! 🙂

Even though they’re funny to wear, these are very nice! I’ve used one set so far and have no complaints! They stayed in place under my eyes without shifting, which is fantastic considering I was looking down and reading the entire time I wore them.

I’m going to save the other four pairs for when I’m feeling extra tired and want to give my eyes a little boost!

POPSUGAR Must Have Review: October 2017

SNACKS!

Nature’s Bakery – Double Chocolate Brownie – Retail Value – $1.49

Chocolate brownie? Yes, Please! I’m all about the chocolate snacks.

This bar didn’t taste bad, but I didn’t think it tasted like a brownie either. There was a different kind of sweetness to it that was unlike chocolate.  I just read the product information and it says it’s sweetened with dates. Perhaps that is the different flavor I’m tasting! 🙂

Quaker – Overnight Oats

I’ve been wanting to try overnight oats for the longest time! There are SO many recipes on my Pinterest board that have gone unused. Probably because I’m extra lazy!

I love how easy this Quaker cup was to prepare. All I had to do was add milk, stir, and then stick it in the fridge. When I woke up in the morning, my oats were ready to eat!

I thought the Toasted Coconut & Almond Crunch flavor was a little sweet but still good. I think I would’ve preferred the oats hot but ended up eating them cold, because I didn’t see the heating instructions until they were almost gone. Whoopsie!!

POPSUGAR Must Have Review: October 2017

Framebridge – $30 Gift Card

If you’ve been reading my reviews for any length of time, then you know how I feel about gift cards. I don’t like it when they are included in the “value” of the box because a lot of the time you have to spend your own money (along with the gift card) to buy something from the featured store.

I don’t have too many framing needs, so I don’t think I’ll be spending this.

POPSUGAR Must Have Review: October 2017

Perpetual Shade – Dream On Cotton Lux Sleep Mask – Retail Value $39

Sleep masks are one of those products that I’ve never tried but have always been intrigued by!

I love sleeping in pitch black rooms. I don’t want to be able to see my hand in front of my face. At all. You would think that would make me all about sleep masks, but I worry that sleeping in a mask will rip and break my hair when I toss and turn at night.

So far, I’ve slept with the mask one time. I put it on in the middle of the night when the moon starting peeking in my window. It didn’t seem to bother me at all, but I did wake up with it on my forehead. (I’m not sure if it migrated by itself due to my natural movements or if I moved it myself in my sleep)

The jury is still out on the sleep mask, but I will be keeping it next to my bed in case of a light/moon emergency!

POPSUGAR Must Have Review: October 2017

Jack + Lucy – Pillow and Blanket Set – Retail Value $49.99

This little pillow and blanket set is perfect for traveling. The pillow is nice and compact, and the blanket is about the size of a beach towel. The ideal size to cover you but not bother anyone around you!

I haven’t been on any super long trips before, but I’m planning on packing this away for any long trips that might come up!

POPSUGAR Must Have Review: October 2017

Keurig – The Original Donut Shop Coffee K-Cup Pods & Coupon

I don’t currently have a Keurig, so these K-Cups are useless to me right now. However, I believe I will be taking advantage of the (awesome!) 50% off coupon and picking one up soon!

POPSUGAR Must Have Review: October 2017

Aquaphor – Advanced Therapy Ointment Body Spray

I’ve never tried an ointment spray before, so I’m not quite sure what to expect from it. I’ve chosen to save this until it gets a little cooler outside and my skins starts to dry out.

I may be mistaken, but ointment seems a lot more moisture intensive than lotion, so that’s why I think it’ll be great for the winter months.

POPSUGAR Must Have Review: October 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

The total retail value of the October box (minus the gift card) is $132.48. That’s not bad at all!

As I mentioned earlier, my favorite item this month is the shower gel by Lollia! It’s so pretty and smells delicious!

PLAY! by Sephora Review: October 2016

Hello everyone!

My PLAY! box has arrived, and I’m so excited to share it with you!

img_4150

“The Cool Cut” is the theme for the October box.  Sephora has dubbed all of these products as the ones to watch!

img_4145

Sephora does it again with the adorable doodles!

img_4194

Box Contents:

  • Smashbox – Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick in Driver’s Seat
  • NUDESTIX – Intense Matte Lip + Cheek Pencil in Belle
  • Too Cool For School – Egg Mellow Cream
  • Skin Inc. – Pure Revival Peel
  • Verb – Leave-In Mist
  • TOM FORD – Orchid Soleil
  • Fabric drawstring bag

img_4163

I love sampling lip colors, so I was rather pumped when I pulled both of these out of my drawstring bag.

Smashbox – Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick in Driver’s Seat

I’m not a huge fan of matte lipsticks, but I love this one! The formula is smooth, and the applicator is great!

Unfortunately, this shade is a little too orange for me, so I’m going to look into purchasing this product in a rosier hue!

NUDESTIX – Intense Matte Lip + Cheek Pencil in Belle

This stick is pretty cool and has a multitude of uses.  It can be used as a lip liner, lipstick, and a cheek color!  I’ve tried it all three ways and think it’s better suited for my lips than my cheeks.

I think this stick has a hint of orange in it just like the lipstick above.  It’s more wearable for me than the Smashbox lip color though.

img_4156

Too Cool For School – Egg Mellow Cream

I’ve gotten a few freebie, foil packet samples of this product with previous Sephora purchases but haven’t actually given it a try until now.

This is another one of those “do it all” products.  It can be used as a serum, priming moisturizer, eye cream, neck cream, and sleeping mask.  I’ve chosen to use it as an eye cream for now.

The egg extract in this cream certainly gives it a more gooey texture, but I like it.  I don’t know why, but I do!

img_4172

Skin Inc. – Pure Revival Peel

This skin peel is so cool!  I’ve only used it once, but I already love it!

After rubbing it on my face for a few seconds, I could feel (and see) the dead skin balling up and coming off of my face! I know that sounds disgusting, but it’s also really cool!

I’m definitely going to continue using this product! Who knows, I might even purchase it when my sample runs out!

img_4154

Verb – Leave-In Mist

I’m a dork and totally thought that this product’s main function was as a leave-in conditioner!  It wasn’t until I watched Sephora’s unboxing video (and used the mist) that I realized that wasn’t actually the case! Whoopsie!!

This leave-in mist’s main function is as a heat protector. I don’t have a travel size heat protecting spray, so this will serve me well the next time I leave town!

img_4175

TOM FORD – Orchid Soleil

As I’m sure you’ve figured out by now, I’m not a huge fan of most perfume-y smells.  Sadly this perfume doesn’t agree with me.  That’s okay though!  I don’t ever expect to enjoy the perfume samples, so it’s always an exciting surprise when I do.  Perhaps I’ll enjoy next month’s sample!

img_4181

I think the phrase on this month’s bag is cute, but I don’t necessarily love the execution.

I’ve loved every other bag they’ve given out, so I knew there would be one I didn’t like at some point!

Perhaps I’ll give this baggie to a lipstick-loving friend of mine! 🙂

img_4185

This wasn’t my favorite month of PLAY! by Sephora, but I still ended up with some great products that I know I’ll use!

POPSUGAR Must Have Review: October 2016

Hello everyone!

It’s POPSUGAR Must Have review time!  Are you excited to see what I got?!

img_3893

To receive a fun box of surprise goodies each month like I do, click here!

img_3969

Box Contents:

  • Henri Bendel – Packable Umbrella
  • Lalicious – Brown Sugar Vanilla Shower Oil and Bubble Bath
  • My Cup of Cocoa – Dark Drinking Chocolate
  • Morning Culture – Rise & Shine Diner Mug
  • Makeup Eraser – The Makeup Eraser Mini!
  • Power Your Happy by Lisa Sugar
  • Revlon – ColorStay Liquid Eye Pen

img_3982

Henri Bendel – Packable Umbrella – Retail Value $58

I was so excited when I saw POPSUGAR’s sneak peek of this item earlier in the month! I received an umbrella from POPSUGAR last year and absolutely love it!  It’s my go-to umbrella on rainy days!  I’m sure I’ll be getting a lot of use out of this umbrella too!

I love the chocolate brown and white stripes with the raspberry accents.  So pretty!

img_3956

Lalicious – Brown Sugar Vanilla Shower Oil and Bubble Bath – Retail Value $28

I always enjoy receiving body wash in my subscription boxes.  I’ve gotten so many in the past that it’ll be a while before I have to go out and buy any myself!

My only complaint about this product is the scent.  I know vanilla is a standard scent that the majority of people enjoy, however, I am not one of them.  I’ll most likely end up giving this product to a friend who will enjoy it more than me.

img_3971

My Cup of Cocoa – Dark Drinking Chocolate – Retail Value $4.99

As you know, I always look forward to the edible item that POPSUGAR includes every month.  This drinking chocolate did not disappoint!

The chocolate powder mixes with milk to create a deliciously creamy treat! 🙂

img_3981

Morning Culture – Rise & Shine Diner Mug – Retail Value $16

These days I’m a huge fan of mugs and trinket dishes to hold all of my pens and planner supplies!

I’m sure I’ll drink something (perhaps the drinking chocolate?) out of this mug at some point, but right now, it’s sitting on my dresser holding several pairs of scissors!

img_3959

Makeup Eraser – The Makeup Eraser Mini! – Retail Value $12

A good friend of mine has a Makeup Eraser and absolutely loves it!  After her rave reviews, I was very excited to give this little guy a try.

I’ve used it a few times now, and it’s been working really well.  The cloth is very soft and more gentle on my skin than the typical makeup remover wipe!

img_3953

Power Your Happy by Lisa Sugar – Retail Value $25

Motivational books aren’t typically my style, but I’m enjoying this one so far!

I’m going to keep Power Your Happy by my bedside and read a little bit each night.  I’m sure I’ll be finished with it in no time!

img_3962

Revlon – ColorStay Liquid Eye Pen – Retail Value $8.99

If you’ve read my last couple of subscription box review posts, you know by now that eyeliner and I aren’t the best of friends.  This is another product that I’ll be giving away to a better home!

One neat thing I’ll mention about the eyeliner is that its felt tip is designed in a way that provides you with three different line thicknesses.  You can see a little sample of the thicknesses on the packaging above. If I was an eyeliner user, I think I’d find that feature pretty handy!

img_3996

The total retail value for the October box is $152.98.  That’s not too shabby!

I’m very pleased with five of the seven items included this month! And I’m sure my friends will be very pleased by the two items that I’ve chosen to give away!

October Functional Planner Stickers: Free Printable

Hello, Planner Friends!

It’s time for my free, monthly printable release!

pbtt-october-functional-sticker-sheet

I added some fun, pumpkin elements to this month’s printable!  I hope you love them as much as I do!

If you’re decorating for Halloween, I think it would be super cute to draw some faces on the little pumpkins and make them into jack o’lanterns!  Wouldn’t that be fun?! 🙂

Before I give you the printable file, there are a few things I’d like to say.  I spent a lot of time designing and creating this printable, so please be kind when you use it.

  • Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes printables are for personal use only
  • You may not re-sell, redistribute, or claim this work as your own
  • If you post this on the internet, please give the credit to Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes and link it back to my blog (pinkbowstwinkletoes.com)

Enough of the heavy stuff! Now it’s time for the stickers!

I’m providing you this printable in both a PNG and PDF file format. I’ve found that the PNG prints richer colors than the PDF. It’s up to you which file you use though!

To download the PNG file:

  1. Click on the image above
  2. Click “view full size”
  3. Right click and save image
  4. Open saved file and print
  5. PLAN!!

If you skip step 2 and don’t click the “view full size” button, the image will save in a much smaller format and will print incorrectly.

You can download the sticker file here, PBTT October Functional Sticker Sheet.

Be sure to tag me in any and all Instagram posts featuring my stickers and your planner! (@pinkbowstwinkletoes and #pinkbowstwinkletoes)  I would love to see what you do with them! :)

Happy Planning!

POPSUGAR Must Have Review – October 2015

Hi everyone!

I’m a little late with my October review! Whoopsie!!

IMG_5784Upon opening my box, I saw that POPSUGAR donated to a breast cancer foundation.  That was very nice of them!

IMG_5935Each box comes with a little brochure with information on each product featured for the month.

IMG_5937Box Contents:

  • Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling
  • Savvy Sleepers – Luxury Satin Pillowcase
  • Easy, Tiger – Brown Paper Liquor Bag Set
  • Belgian Boys – De Stroopwafel
  • The Honest Company – Sea Salt + Sugar Body Scrub
  • Richer Poorer – Hope Slipper Socks

Special Extras

  • It’s a 10 – Miracle Leave-in Product
  • Danielle Stevens – Monogram Gift Card

IMG_5924Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling – Retail Value $25

Mindy was pretty funny on The Office, so I’m sure her book will be great too!

I’ve been so busy lately that I haven’t had time to start reading this book!  I’m hoping to find some time during my Thanksgiving or Christmas breaks.

IMG_5929Savvy Sleepers – Luxury Satin Pillowcase – Retail Value $36

I’m a weirdo about some of my pillowcases!  I’ve been using the same one for years. It keeps ripping at the seams and my mom keeps sewing it up for me!

I like my pillowcases super soft and cuddly! I’ve tested out this satin one, and it seems like it will meet my standards perfectly!

IMG_5920Easy, Tiger – Brown Paper Liquor Bag Set – Retail Value $8

I’m not really sure what I’m going to do with these bags.  They are the perfect size for a bottle of wine, but I don’t ever take wine anywhere.

IMG_5922I’ll have to see if any of my friends can get some good use out of these!

IMG_5925Belgian Boys – De Stroopwafel – Retail Value $1.59

My brother, Robert, and my little, Jessica, absolutely love these candies!

Robert brought some back for my family and I to try when he came home from Europe several years ago.  They were pretty yummy!

My friends and I took a trip to New Orleans a few weeks ago and stumbled on some Stroopwafels in Whole Foods.  Jessica was pretty excited and couldn’t resist buying a few!

I had one with my tea last night, and it was delicious!

IMG_5931The Honest Company – Sea Salt + Sugar Body Scrub – Retail Value $17

I have heard some pretty great things about The Honest Company, so I was pumped when I saw this in my box!

It smells great and worked really well on my arms when I tried it out last night in my shower.

IMG_5915Richer Poorer – Hope Slipper Socks – Retail Value $15

I love socks! Especially soft, fuzzy, pink ones!

It’s way too hot in Florida right now to wear fuzzy socks, but I will definitely get some use out of these in the next few months!

IMG_5917It’s a 10 – Miracle Leave-in Product – Retail Value $11.96

I LOVE this conditioner!  I use it every single day after I shower.

I love that it comes in a spray bottle but that the conditioner isn’t watery!

I’ve used this original formula and the formula for blondes!  Both are great!

IMG_5939Danielle Stevens – Monogram Gift Card

I absolutely love monograms!

Unfortunately, I didn’t see anything I needed on the Danielle Stevens website, so I probably won’t be using this coupon.

IMG_5946The October box has a total retail value of $114.55 (not including the gift card).

Most boxes have a higher value than this one, but I won’t complain because I love almost all of the products!

Julep Maven Review & Coupon – October 2015

Hi everyone!

It’s time for my monthly Julep Maven review!

IMG_5575Box Contents:

  • Eyeshadow 101 – Champagne Shimmer
  • Eyeshadow 101 – Taupe Shimmer
  • Jocelyn – Classic With a Twist – Cranberry Shimmer with Holographic Microglitter
  • Arielle – Classic With a Twist – Smoked Fig Crème
  • Candy Corn (So yummy!)
  • Coupon

IMG_5540

Eyeshadow 101

The featured makeup product for the October box are these cream-to-powder eyeshadow sticks!

I love the other cream-to-powder Julep product I have, so I was super excited when they came out with these!

IMG_5552Champagne Shimmer

Each stick comes with the shadow on one end and a smudger on the other.

This shadow color is a great neutral!  The champagne color is so pretty and perfect for day or night!

They’re a little hard to use with my daily eyeshadow primer, so I’ve been going without on the days that I wear them.  Other than that, they are great!

IMG_5555Taupe Shimmer

I decided to add this shadow on to my box this month.

I like to use this darker shadow in my crease and use the lighter on my lid.  They look very pretty together!

The smudger is great for making sure the shadow isn’t too dark in my crease!

IMG_5534Jocelyn – Classic With a Twist – Cranberry Shimmer with Holographic Microglitter

I have this polish painted on my fingers right now, and it’s so pretty!

It’s a little dark for the Florida weather right now, but in a few weeks, it should be perfect!

Arielle – Classic With a Twist – Smoked Fig Crème

This polish is also pretty and fall-y!

I think it’s going to look great on my toes!

Ipsy Review – October 2014

Hi everyone!

It’s time for my monthly Ipsy review!

DSCN3376Do you want to be an Ipsy subscriber?! Click here!!

DSCN3384I was rather disappointed in Ipsy this month.  There were very few brands that I’d even heard of being offered for October.

One of my favorite things to do is stalk Facebook at the beginning of the month to see the sneak peeks.  All of the sneak peeks for October made me sad.

I’m also not a huge fan of the makeup bag this month.  I like the color, but the material is very cheap.

Products:

  • Épicé International – Purifying Exfoliant
  • Figs & Rouge – Hand Cream
  • Jesse’s Girl – Mineralized Baked Shadow Powder
  • Starlooks – Lip Gloss
  • ECRU New York – Acacia Protein BB Cream – Beauty Balm for Hair

DSCN3388The October theme is “Beauty Candy.”  I’m not sure what classified these products as candy though.

DSCN3390Épicé International – Purifying Exfoliant

I’m a very loyal product user and I already have a daily exfoliant.  I probably won’t be trying this product.  I will see if one of my friends want it though!

DSCN3407Figs & Rouge – Hand Cream – Mango Mandarin

I absolutely love this colorful packaging!  It’s so fun and pretty!

The Mango Mandarin scent is okay.  The smell is very familiar, but I just can’t place it!

Out of the five products I received this month, this hand cream is my favorite.

DSCN3397Jesse’s Girl – Mineralized Baked Shadow Powder – Graphite Frost

I love eyeshadow, but I am not a huge fan of this color.

I prefer golds and browns and this one is a silvery gray.  It’s a step up from the purple shadow I got last month though!

DSCN3405Starlooks – Lip Gloss – Guilty Pleasure

This gloss reminds me of the NYX Butter Gloss I received in my first Ipsy bag over the summer.  Except the NYX gloss was larger and I liked it better.

DSCN3413ECRU New York – Acacia Protein BB Cream – Beauty Balm for Hair

Before getting this product, I didn’t realize that there was such a things as BB cream for hair.

The box says it’s a styling lotion.  I don’t ever do anything with my hair, so I don’t think I’ll be getting much use out of this product either.

DSCN3418All in all, I’m pretty disappointed with my October Ipsy bag.

I’ve seen a promising sneak peek for November, so let’s hope that pans out!

How did you like your October Ipsy?!

DSCN3325The special treat for October was a little bag of candy corn! Yummy!!

Box includes:

  • Night Shift Sleeping Mask
  • Logan – Classic with a Twist – Sultry Aubergine Shimmer
  • DeAnn – Classic with a Twist – Ripe Loganberry Crème
  • Candy Corn
  • Coupon

DSCN3364October featured “The Black Magic Collection.”

The majority of the polishes this month are rather dark but still pretty.

DSCN3367Night Shift Sleeping Mask

This sleeping mask looks pretty nice, but I’m a creature of habit and a little scared to try it.

I’ve been using the same nightly skin care regimen for over five years, and I’m rather hesitant to use something new! Maybe one of these days I’ll work up the courage and give it a try!

DSCN3359Logan – Classic with a Twist – Sultry Aubergine Shimmer

I love this shimmery purple in the bottle, but I’m not sure about it on my nails!  I painted my toes with it the other day, and it looked almost black.

I’m not a fan of black nail polish on myself, so that annoyed me a little.

I’m going to try the polish on my fingernails as soon as I finish this post!  Hopefully, I’ll like it better this time!

DeAnn – Classic with a Twist – Ripe Loganberry Crème

This polish is perfect for the coming winter months!  It’s the perfect pinky red, which happens to be my favorite nail polish color!

I just painted my toes with DeAnn, and I absolutely love it!!

DSCN3370The October coupon is good for a free nail polish! How exciting!! Just like last month, it’s good for two uses!

How did you like your October Maven box? Have you tried the sleep mask yet?!
