Easy DIY: Velvet Ribbon Bows

Hello, crafters!

It’s been WAY too long since I posted a crafting tutorial for you all! Today is the day that I finally post a brand-new how-to for you! (Wasn’t that a fun rhyme?!) 🙂

You might’ve already guessed this, but today we will be making bows! I LOVE bows. They are just darling and can be added to pretty much anything and will up the cute factor by over 1,000%!

Easy DIY: Velvet Ribbon Bows - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

A few months back, I got the hankering to make bows and not just any bows. I really wanted to make velvet bows! So, I hopped in the car, went to Hobby Lobby, and picked up three beautiful spools of 7/8 inch velvet ribbon!

If you follow me on Instagram, then you might’ve caught my post and Story from a while back where I talked you through two of my favorite types of bows! (I have a third favorite, but I’m going to save that tutorial for another day!)

Thanks to Instagram Stories, I have a handy, video tutorial to share with you all today!

Supplies:

I love making bows and after making a few with me, I’m sure you now love making them too!

I have another crafting tutorial featuring one of these bows coming your way soon! So stay tuned!

Until then, Happy Crafting!

December Functional Planner Stickers: Free Printable

Hello, hello!

December is (almost) upon us, so it’s time for my monthly sticker freebie!

December Functional Planner Stickers: Free Printable - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

The 2017 December freebie has a bit of a whimsical Christmas theme to it! I love the light greens with the touches of bright red. The multicolored polka dots are just darling if I do say so myself! 🙂

This printable perfectly matches my 2016 December freebie and also coordinates quite nicely with the monthly colors in the Erin Condren LifePlanner.

My 2016 December freebie is holly-themed and will look fantastic with this 2017 freebie if you choose to use both printables at the same time. I’m planning to use both printables next week! You should download and use both too so we can be planner twins! 🙂

Before I give you the sticker freebie file, there are a few things I’d like to say.  I spent a lot of time designing and creating this printable, so please be kind when you use it.

  • Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes printables are for personal use only
  • You may not re-sell, re-distribute, or claim this work as your own
  • If you post this on the Internet, please give the credit to Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes and link it back to my blog (www.pinkbowstwinkletoes.com)

Enough of the heavy stuff! Now it’s time for the fun!

I’m providing you this printable in both a PNG and PDF file format.  I’ve found that the PNG prints richer colors than the PDF.  It’s up to you which file you use though!

To download the PNG file:

  1. Click on the image above
  2. Click “view full size”
  3. Right click and save image
  4. Open saved file and print
  5. PLAN!!

If you skip step 2 and don’t click the “view full size” button, the image will save in a much smaller format and will print incorrectly.

You can download the PDF version here, PBTT December Functional Sticker Sheet 2017.

Each insert has enough room for 10 people’s contact information. As you can see, there’s a place for their name, email, and phone number. If you’d like to alphabetize your contacts, you can print out 26 copies of this insert (or however many you may need.)

If personal planners aren’t your thing, I also offer a contacts list in an A5 size, which is linked below.

Hourly Insert: Free A5 Planner Printable

Hello, November!

We’re getting closer and closer to 2018! I just can’t believe it!

Is anyone else planning out every waking hour until the new year arrives?! No? Well, you totally could if you wanted to with my latest printable release! 🙂

Hourly Insert: Free A5 Planner Printable - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

A few months back, I introduced the personal size hourly insert. Y’all loved it so much that I figured I ought to make it into an A5 insert as well!

A5 inserts are a bit larger than personal inserts, so this daily page spans from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. as opposed to 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

To give you maximum flexibility, I only included the hours on this insert. You can add in whatever minutes you want to best fit your needs.

PLAY! by Sephora Review: October 2017

Happy Halloween!

I wanted to test the October products for a little while longer this month, so I pushed back my review until the last possible moment!

PLAY! by Sephora Review: October 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

“Complexion Companions” is the theme for the October box! All of this month’s products (aside from the fragrance sample) are complexion-related.

This month’s PLAY!BOOK features an adorable “get ready with me” series full of tips and tricks to prepare your face for the day.

Box Contents:

  • Becca – First Light Filter Face Primer
  • Make Up For Ever – Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation
  • Laura Mercier – Translucent Powder
  • Cover FX – Custom Enhancer Drops
  • Make Up For Ever – Ultra HD Skin Booster
  • Chanel – Gabrielle Chanel
  • Drawstring Bag

Becca – First Light Filter Face Primer

You know me well enough by now to know how much I love trying new primers!

This Becca primer is the prettiest shade of lilac and is very thin and lightweight. The primer is so light that I actually think the bottle feels half empty.

There’s nothing that excites me about this primer (aside from the color!) I don’t love it enough to by the full size, but I will be finishing up this little tube.

Make Up For Ever – Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation in R230

I can’t tell you how excited I was when I pulled this foundation sample out of my PLAY! bag. If you watched my IG Story a few weeks ago, you can attest that I was very pleased!

One of the two foundations that I currently switch off between each day is actually Make Up For Ever Ultra HD. I’ve been using it for several years now and absolutely love the formula and the coverage!

Unfortunately, the shade I received in this month’s box doesn’t work for me. However, my PLAY!BOOK says that I can go into a Sephora store with my PLAY!PASS and get a sample that’s just right for me! (I wear shade Y235.) That is fantastic news!

Make Up For Ever – Ultra HD Skin Booster

As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I put off writing this review for a week or so because I wanted to really get an in-depth feel for a few of the products. This skin booster was one of the products that I needed a little more time with.

My PLAY!BOOK says that this product is “a skin-perfecting serum that plumps, smooths, and hydrates your skin for flawless makeup application.”

I’ve used the skin booster several times and haven’t noticed any difference in my makeup application. I think this might be one of those products that just doesn’t work for me.

Laura Mercier – Translucent Powder

A few months back, I went on a mission to find my new, favorite setting powder. I used the Urban Decay loose powder for years and LOVED it. Over the last few years, it’s become increasingly difficult to find. Because of that, I decided to abandon ship and find a powder that worked just as well but was easier to come by.

While on that mission, I tried the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder.  I thought it was going to be my new favorite, but alas, I was wrong. This powder is a little chunkier and perhaps slightly more moist than I would like.

Eventually, I settled on the bareminerals Mineral Veil loose powder. Their powder is nice and fine and perfectly suits my needs.

Even though I didn’t find the Laura Mercier powder to be my favorite, I’ll still save this sample and use it in a pinch!

Cover FX – Custom Enhancer Drops in Moonlight

Cover FX drops have interested me for months now. I heard about their Custom Cover Drops at an in-store PLAY! event and have wanted to try them ever since.

These drops are slightly different but are still the same idea. All you have to do is add a few drops to your foundation and then apply to the areas of your face where you’d like a little highlight.

I’m not the best at highlighting my face. I usually stay away from contouring products, because I don’t want to accidentally make myself look like a clown! However, these drops were super easy to use! I’m going to save them for special events when I want to add a little extra glow to my face.

You know by now that perfume and I don’t get along! 😉
