Hello everyone!
My PLAY! box has arrived, and I’m so excited to share it with you!
“The Cool Cut” is the theme for the October box. Sephora has dubbed all of these products as the ones to watch!
Sephora does it again with the adorable doodles!
Box Contents:
- Smashbox – Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick in Driver’s Seat
- NUDESTIX – Intense Matte Lip + Cheek Pencil in Belle
- Too Cool For School – Egg Mellow Cream
- Skin Inc. – Pure Revival Peel
- Verb – Leave-In Mist
- TOM FORD – Orchid Soleil
- Fabric drawstring bag
I love sampling lip colors, so I was rather pumped when I pulled both of these out of my drawstring bag.
Smashbox – Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick in Driver’s Seat
I’m not a huge fan of matte lipsticks, but I love this one! The formula is smooth, and the applicator is great!
Unfortunately, this shade is a little too orange for me, so I’m going to look into purchasing this product in a rosier hue!
NUDESTIX – Intense Matte Lip + Cheek Pencil in Belle
This stick is pretty cool and has a multitude of uses. It can be used as a lip liner, lipstick, and a cheek color! I’ve tried it all three ways and think it’s better suited for my lips than my cheeks.
I think this stick has a hint of orange in it just like the lipstick above. It’s more wearable for me than the Smashbox lip color though.
Too Cool For School – Egg Mellow Cream
I’ve gotten a few freebie, foil packet samples of this product with previous Sephora purchases but haven’t actually given it a try until now.
This is another one of those “do it all” products. It can be used as a serum, priming moisturizer, eye cream, neck cream, and sleeping mask. I’ve chosen to use it as an eye cream for now.
The egg extract in this cream certainly gives it a more gooey texture, but I like it. I don’t know why, but I do!
Skin Inc. – Pure Revival Peel
This skin peel is so cool! I’ve only used it once, but I already love it!
After rubbing it on my face for a few seconds, I could feel (and see) the dead skin balling up and coming off of my face! I know that sounds disgusting, but it’s also really cool!
I’m definitely going to continue using this product! Who knows, I might even purchase it when my sample runs out!
Verb – Leave-In Mist
I’m a dork and totally thought that this product’s main function was as a leave-in conditioner! It wasn’t until I watched Sephora’s unboxing video (and used the mist) that I realized that wasn’t actually the case! Whoopsie!!
This leave-in mist’s main function is as a heat protector. I don’t have a travel size heat protecting spray, so this will serve me well the next time I leave town!
TOM FORD – Orchid Soleil
As I’m sure you’ve figured out by now, I’m not a huge fan of most perfume-y smells. Sadly this perfume doesn’t agree with me. That’s okay though! I don’t ever expect to enjoy the perfume samples, so it’s always an exciting surprise when I do. Perhaps I’ll enjoy next month’s sample!
I think the phrase on this month’s bag is cute, but I don’t necessarily love the execution.
I’ve loved every other bag they’ve given out, so I knew there would be one I didn’t like at some point!
Perhaps I’ll give this baggie to a lipstick-loving friend of mine! 🙂
This wasn’t my favorite month of PLAY! by Sephora, but I still ended up with some great products that I know I’ll use!
Do you subscribe to PLAY! by Sephora?!
