New Releases: October Kits and Multicolored Functional

Hello everyone!

I have 10 new releases in my Etsy shop to share with you today!

I have three new kits this month, and they’re all available in both vertical and horizontal layouts.

Two of the new kits are October/fall related and the other kit is just cutesy and fun!

New Kits:

  • Sweet & Spooky
  • Foxy Fall
  • Sew Crafty

I also have three new multicolored functional sheets.  I’m releasing horizontal weekend banners in all three color palettes this month.  I’ll be releasing the vertical weekend banners in next month’s releases!

Hop on over to my shop to check out more photos of the beautiful new kits and functional sheets!  Don’t forget to use the coupon code “BlogBonus” for 15% off your order of $10 or more.

I’m so excited to start using these printables!  I’m having trouble deciding whether to use Sew Crafty of Foxy Fall first! 🙂

Happy Planning!

PLAY! by Sephora Review: September 2016

Hello everyone!

My PLAY! by Sephora box arrived a few days ago, and I can’t wait to share all my new goodies with you!

I love Sephora’s packaging!  They always knock it out of the park!

September’s theme: The Unbasic Basics

As you know, I love me some product doodles! 🙂

I love reading all of the tips and tricks that Sephora includes in their PLAY!BOOK each month!  I also enjoy watching their monthly video.  Check it out!

Box Contents:

  • Sephora Collection – Rouge Shine Lipstick in Love Spell
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills – Brow Gel
  • Ole Henriksen – Sheer Transformation
  • Kat Von D – Tattoo Liner in Trooper
  • Atelier Cologne – Sud Magnolia
  • Living Proof – Perfect Hair Day Night Cap Overnight Perfector
  • Drawstring bag

Sephora Collection – Rouge Shine Lipstick in Love Spell

Lip products are one of my favorite things to sample, so I was very excited when I pulled this out of the fabric bag!

Love Spell is a very light, natural pink color.  I think it might be a little too natural for me though.  When applied, I can’t see much difference between this lip color and my lips!  Maybe I’m not applying enough or maybe this just isn’t lip color for me!  We will see!

Anastasia Beverly Hills – Brow Gel

I know tons of people are all about brows right now, but I’m not one of them. I don’t actually do anything to my eyebrows except pluck them.

My sister-in-law has been wanting to try some Anastasia products, so I knew she’d want to give this gel a try.  I gave it to her several days ago, and she was so excited!  I’m sure she’ll get way more use out of it than I would have.

Ole Henriksen – Sheer Transformation

I received some Ole Henriksen makeup wipes several years ago in another subscription service, but unfortunately, they were so strongly scented that I couldn’t use them.

Thankfully, this moisturizer is unscented, and I like it quite a bit. It’s lightweight, and I have no worries about it irritating my skin.  That’s always a plus!

Kat Von D – Tattoo Liner in Trooper

As a mentioned last month, I’m not a big eye liner user.

I love the idea of liquid liners, but I’m just to shaky and unpredictable to be trusted with them.  I actually have a few liquid liners, and when I’m feeling really brave, I do bring them out and give them a whirl.  That doesn’t happen often though!

Like the Anastasia product above, I gave this liner to my sister-in law!  She tried it out right away.  She wasn’t in love with the thickness though.  She would’ve preferred a little thicker of a line from the get go.  However, she did love how much control she had over the application!

Atelier Cologne – Sud Magnolia

This is the second Atelier Cologne I’ve received since subscribing to PLAY! in May.  I like the brand and the scents, but I’m surprised that they repeated a brand so soon.

I love that they include a postcard with their fragrance.  That really adds a little something to the product and packaging!

Living Proof – Perfect Hair Day Night Cap Overnight Perfector

I’ve really been enjoying new hair products recently, so I was pretty excited when I saw this in my box.  One huge plus to this product is that you can use it with damp hair.  I shower at night, so I don’t like products that require you to wash them off/out in the morning!

Perfect Hair Day reminds me quite a bit of Don’t Despair! Repair, which I’ve now received in both POPSUGAR and PLAY!  I love Don’t Despair! Repair, so I’m quite alright with the products being similar!

I always look forward to the drawstring bag each month!  I love every new design!

The little, pink lipstick is just too cute! 🙂

I did end up giving away two of this month’s products, but I’m okay with that!  I really like the products that I’m left with!

If you haven’t noticed, I am a little particular about some things, so I do end up giving quite a few subscription box items away every few months!  My friends always enjoy it when I declutter! 🙂

DIY Bridal Shower Guessing Game

Hi everyone!

I have a crafting tutorial to share with you today!

It’s been entirely too long since I’ve shared a craft with you all! Unfortunately, I haven’t done all that much crafting recently.  Hopefully, I’ll be doing more this fall and winter though.  🙂

Today, I’ll be showing you how to make these adorable lips and mustaches that go along with a guessing game that I put together for one of my best friend’s bridal shower!

I played this game at my sister-in-law’s bridal shower a little over a year ago. My version is a little different than what one of her bridesmaids created for her.  I’ve taken elements from her version, some questions I found online, and a few of my own designs to create the version I’m sharing with you today.  I hope you like it!

Before beginning this project, find out how many people are expected to attend the bridal shower.  You are going to need two dowels per person! I didn’t take this into account when first purchasing my dowels, so I ended up having to make a second trip to the craft store!

There are three different methods to making the game props.  This tutorial will mostly be for the more involved (a little more difficult) method that I used, but I have also outlined the easier methods below

Option 1: Print the Outline Printable onto colored cardstock and then cut out the individual lips and mustaches. Once all the lips and mustaches are cut out, simply hot glue them to the end of the wooden dowels. Now skip to Step 7!

Option 2: Print the Solid Fill Printable onto white cardstock and then cut out the individual lips and mustaches. Once all the lips and mustaches are cut out, simply hot glue them to the end of the wooden dowels. Now skip to Step 7!

Option 3 – The method I used:

Step 1: Print the Outline Printable onto white cardstock.

Step 2: Cut out two or three lips and mustaches to make traceable stencils.

Step 3: Use a pencil to trace as many lips and mustaches as you can onto pink/red and black cardstock.

After tracing an entire page, the original, white template was a little worn down.  At that point, I switched to one of my other cutout templates.

Step 4: Cut out all of the lips and mustaches!

Step 5: Once all the lips and mustaches are cut out, go around the edges of each shape and erase the leftover pencil marks.

This can be tedious work, so I suggest you find a friend (I enlisted my mom!) and try not to do all the tracing, cutting, and erasing in one sitting!

Step 6: Once all the shapes are cut out and the pencil marks are erased, use hot glue to attach the shapes to the wooden dowels.

Be careful not to apply too much hot glue.  The sticks are small and the paper isn’t all that thick. Too much glue could cause the paper to warp and glue to ooze out the sides of the dowel and the bottom of the shape.

Once the glue is dry, you can arrange all your pretty props in a vase!

Step 7 (or you can do this before Step 1):  Ask your bride and groom a series of questions.

Your questions can be along the lines of favorites (favorite foods, favorite movies, favorite music, etc.) or they can be questions about the couple’s relationship (first date, first kiss, the proposal, etc.)  I’ve played the game both ways and each way is very fun!

These are the questions that I asked:

  1. Who initiated the first date?
  2. Who initiated the first hand hold?
  3. Who initiated the first kiss?
  4. Who said, “I love you” first?
  5. Who met their future in-laws first?
  6. Who popped the question?
  7. Who will cry on the big day?
  8. Who keeps a cleaner car?
  9. Who is better in the kitchen?
  10. Who picked the honeymoon location?
  11. Who wants to have the most kids?

These are pretty generic questions that would work for any couple.  If there’s something specific that pertains to your couple, then you can add those questions in and maybe subtract a few of mine!  It’s up to you!

How to play the game:

Give every party goer both a lip and a mustache.  Once everyone has their props, you’re going to begin asking the questions to the group.  After you ask a question, party goers will hold up the lips if they think the answer is “bride” or they will hold up the mustache if they think the answer is “groom.”

For example, if they think the bride initiated the first date, they would hold up their lips and if they think it was the groom they would hold up their mustache.

I’ve played this game twice now, and both times it was tons of fun!  The crowd always has a great time and sometimes they come up with their own questions and just start shouting them out!  It’s very entertaining!!  🙂

Here’s my setup from the bridal shower.

Along with the Lip and Mustache guessing game, I also had two paper games and prizes to go along with those games.

I had so much fun with the games at this shower and several party goers said they loved them too!  That pleased me quite a bit!  🙂

Until next time, I wish you Happy Crafting!

POPSUGAR Must Have Review: September 2016

Hello everyone!

My September POPSUGAR Must Have box has arrived!  This month’s items are fantastic, and I can’t wait to share them with you!

To receive a fun box of goodies each month like I do, click here.

Every month, POPSUGAR chooses a few words to describe the feeling and theme of the box.  September’s theme words are glamorous, eye-catching, indulgent, bold, timeless, and sartorial.

Box Contents:

  • Jack & Lucy – Bicoastal Wide Brim Hat
  • NCLA – MANI-ER Tool Kit
  • Briogeo – Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask
  • Flint – Lint Roller
  • Smith & Cult – Lip Lacquer in The Warning
  • The Gluten Free Bites – Dark Chocolate Coconut Bliss

Jack & Lucy – Bicoastal Wide Brim Hat – Retail Value $58

POPSUGAR sneak peeked this hat in an email earlier this month!  I wasn’t quite sure what to think when I saw the sneak peek.

I don’t typically wear hats, so I’m not sure how much use I’ll get out of this product.  My mom said it looked cute on me though.  Perhaps I’ll have to experiment with it in the fall!

Here’s a photo from a different angle.  As you may be able to see, there’s a little indention in the hat.  The little indent adds some interest and intrigue!  There’s also a pretty, black ribbon separating the brim from the top of the hat!  Too cute!!

NCLA – MANI-ER Tool Kit – Retail Value $16

I love little nail kits like this.  I have a similar one that’s purse-shaped that I’ve had for years!  It lives by my bed and also travels with me whenever I leave town!  Now that I have a second kit, maybe I’ll keep one in my suitcase permanently.

Here are the tools included in the kit.  It came with a nice variety!

Briogeo – Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask – Retail Value $36

This hair mask is what I’m most excited about in this box!  I received a sample of it in my PLAY! by Sephora box a few months ago, and have been in love with it ever since!  It’s been in my Sephora shopping cart for weeks now.  Thank goodness I didn’t buy it!

Don’t Despair, Repair! smells amazing and works really well for me!

After washing my hair, I apply a little bit of this and then go about my shower.  When I’m finished showering, I rinse out the mask and then comb my hair!  The results are fantastic!

Following the mask, my hair is very smooth and hydrated! I LOVE it! 🙂

Flint – Lint Roller – Retail Value $9.99

I’m a linty mess, so this product is perfect for me!

I try to remember to lint roll myself, but I usually forget! Whoopsie!!

What makes this lint roller so unique and desirable is that it is retractable!  Simply twist the bottom and the sticky lint roller appears!

One thing I hate about lint rollers, is that they stick to EVERYTHING! This roller is perfect because the annoying “stick to everything” factor has been eliminated!

I can definitely see myself packing this lint roller and taking it with me on my next trip!  Hopefully it will allow me to be somewhat less of a linty mess! 🙂

Smith & Cult – Lip Lacquer in The Warning – Retail Value $22

I love when POPSUGAR includes lip products!  They’re one of my favorite beauty items to sample!

This lip lacquer looks very red in the container, but luckily isn’t nearly as red when applied to my lips!  It’s a beautiful, natural pinky red color.  It’s a tad bit sticky right after you apply it, but the stickiness goes away pretty quickly!

All in all, a great lip product!  I will be adding it to my lineup! 🙂

The Gluten Free Bites – Dark Chocolate Coconut Bliss – Retail Value $4.99

As you know, I always look forward to POPSUGAR’s snack each month.  However, this month’s snack scared me quite a bit at first.

I’m not a gluten-free person.  I eat lots of gluten, and I enjoy it quite a bit!  So I was skeptical when I saw this gluten-free snack in my box.  Surprisingly (at least for me), these little chocolate, coconut balls are AMAZING!!  They are so good that I’ve already eaten half of the package.

One thing I don’t like is the price.  There are not enough little bites in this bag to justify spending $5 on it.  At least not in my opinion!  I’m happy to eat them if someone gives them to me though!! 🙂

The total retail value of this month’s box is $146.98.  That’s not too shabby!

I love everything in this box!  I’m not sure what I’m going to do with the hat yet, but I still thinks it’s very cute!

September Functional Planner Stickers: Free Printable

Hello, planner friends!

I have this month’s free printable release to share with you today!

PBTT September Functional Sticker Kit

I love the purple of September in the Erin Condren LifePlanner!  It’s such a great color for the transition from summer to fall!

Before I give you the printable file, there are a few things I’d like to say.  I spent a lot of time designing and creating this printable, so please be kind when you use it.

  • Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes printables are for personal use only
  • You may not re-sell, redistribute, or claim this work as your own
  • If you post this on the internet, please give the credit to Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes and link it back to my blog (

Enough of the heavy stuff! Now it’s time for the stickers!

I’m providing you this printable in both a PNG and PDF file format. I’ve found that the PNG prints richer colors than the PDF. It’s up to you which file you use though!

To download the PNG file:

  1. Click on the image above
  2. Click “view full size”
  3. Right click and save image
  4. Open saved file and print
  5. PLAN!!

If you skip step 2 and don’t click the “view full size” button, the image will save in a much smaller format and will print incorrectly.

You can download the PDF file here, PBTT September Functional Sticker Sheet.

Be sure to tag me in any and all Instagram posts featuring my stickers and your planner! (@pinkbowstwinkletoes and #pinkbowstwinkletoes)  I would love to see what you do with them! :)

Happy Planning!

PLAY! by Sephora Review: August 2016

Hi everyone!

As some of you may know, I was on vacation all last week, so I’m a teensy bit late with my PLAY! review this month!  Only by one day though!  That’s not too bad! 🙂

“The Eye Openers” is the theme for the August box!

Most of this month’s products revolve around the eyes! What a fun theme!  I hope they do a lip theme soon! 🙂

Along with reading my PLAY!BOOK each month, I also watch Sephora’s unboxing video to learn even more about the featured products!

Box Contents:

  • Make Up For Ever – Artist Shadow in I-544
  • Clean – Reserve Blonde Rose
  • Caudalie – Resveratrol Eye Lifting Balm
  • Urban Decay – Perversion Mascara
  • Lancôme – Énergie De Vie – Smoothing & Glowing Liquid Care Moisturizer
  • Sephora Collection – Contour Eye Pencil 12hr Wear Waterproof – Flirting Game
  • Drawstring Bag

Make Up For Ever – Artist Shadow in I-544

I use Make Up For Ever  foundation every single day, but I haven’t tried any of their eye shadows until now!

Every box came with this pink granite shadow sample! So pretty!

This shadow is a little too dark to wear all over my lids, but I really like it as an eyeliner!  I don’t wear eyeliner often, but when I do, I typically use darker eye shadows and apply them with an angled brush.

Clean – Reserve Blonde Rose

I have yet to make a final decision on whether or not I like this fragrance!  I think I like it from afar but not when it’s too close.  Does that make sense?!  Maybe not!  One spray isn’t bad, but I think it could quickly become overwhelming!

If I can remember, I’m going to try to wear it tomorrow and see how it goes!

Caudalie – Resveratrol Eye Lifting Balm

I’ve been needing to buy eye cream for a long time now, so I was very pleased when I saw this in my box!  Now I can put off buying eye cream for even longer!

I’ve heard great things about Caudalie products, and so far, I’m a fan!  Who knows?! When I finally get around to buying eye cream, I may just purchase this one!

Urban Decay – Perversion Mascara

I love Urban Decay and use many of their products.  Perversion mascara isn’t one of my favorites though.

I’ve received samples in other subscription boxes and have even bought the full size before.  After buying the full size, I realized that this mascara isn’t for me!  I think it’s a little too wet, and I always end up with it all around my eyes! 🙁

I gave it to my sister-in-law for her to try!  Hopefully, she’ll like it more than I did!

Lancôme – Énergie De Vie – Smoothing & Glowing Liquid Care Moisturizer

I didn’t realize how liquidy this moisturizer was until I spilled a good portion of it on the floor when I went to use it for the first time!  I know, I’m a dork! Oh well!

Once I cleaned up the floor, I applied the moisturizer, and I like it!  Its liquid formula is quite a bit different than the moisturizers I’m used to!  I probably won’t end up purchasing this item, but I will definitely finish off the sample!  That won’t be too difficult for me, since I spilled a lot of it! 🙂

Sephora Collection – Contour Eye Pencil 12hr Wear Waterproof – Flirting Game

As I mentioned above, I don’t wear eyeliner that often.  However, I can see myself using this taupe color more often than I would any of the black liners I own.  The taupe is subtle and will go very well with my blue eyes!

If I wasn’t so shaky and could see better, I would wear eyeliner more often.  Maybe one day soon I will master the art of applying it!  Maybe! Probably not though! 🙂

The drawstring bags just keep getting cuter and cuter!

All in all, the August, PLAY! by Sephora box was pretty great for me!  I will use the majority of these products!
