My mom pointed out that it would look great on Mother’s Day, and I have to agree!  It would be very pretty!!

Here’s a better look at the printable!

The colors are absolutely gorgeous!  They print more vibrant than they appear on the computer screen.  I think this set will be absolutely gorgeous during May in the vertical Erin Condren LifePlanner!

I’ve made the washi stickers on this printable a little smaller than last week’s.  They should fit your planner much better now!

Doodle Script Planner Stickers: Free Printable

Hi everyone!

It’s time for my weekly sticker printable release!

IMG_9464

I decided to include some of my own hand lettering in this week’s printable!  All of the words on this sheet are written and then digitized by me!  I absolutely love how it all turned out!

I also love the springy pastel colors!  They should coordinate quite nicely with the Spring Fling printable that I released a few weeks ago!

Hoppy Easter Planner Stickers: Free Printable

Hi everyone!

It’s time for this week’s printable release!

IMG_9345

I went with an Easter theme for this week! Since there are a lot of bunnies on this sheet, I decided to call it “Hoppy Easter!” 🙂

I had so much fun creating all the bunnies and chicks!  I got some advice from two bunny experts on how to best design a few of my stickers! 😉

Here’s a closer look at the printable!

I know the whiskers look super chunky in this photo, but I promise they don’t actually print that way!

IMG_0796

Design courtesy of Stitched Blooms

This is the motif we’ll be using.

IMG_0792Print out the motif and trace with your Sharpie.

IMG_0799Trace the motif and hoop your fabric.

IMG_0801Use green thread and the Stem/Outline Stitch for the stem.

IMG_0803IMG_0806IMG_0811Continue on with the Stem Stitch until the stem is complete.

IMG_0814Keeping with the green thread, use the Back Stitch for the leaves.

IMG_0820IMG_0821Once the leaves are completed, we’ll start on the flowers.

IMG_0824Use the Back Stitch and the light pink thread for two of the flowers.

I chose two that are diagonal from each other, because I didn’t want two of the same color to be “touching.”

IMG_0829Stitch the two remaining flowers with the dark pink thread.

IMG_0958Our flowers are complete!

So bright and perfect for summer!

DIY Hand Embroidery Motif – Blueberry Bush

Hi everyone!

I got some new embroidery books the other day.  Here’s my first project from one of my new books!

IMG_0717Supplies:

  • Stitched Blooms by Carina Envoldsen-Harris (get it here)
  • Embroidery hoop
  • Embroidery floss
  • Fabric (I used gingham)
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Sharpie
  • Needle

IMG_0720DMC Floss Colors:

  • 699 – green
  • 796 – dark blue
  • 799 – light blue

IMG_0722

Design courtesy of Stitched Blooms

This is the blueberry motif we will be using.

IMG_0724Print out the motif and trace it with your Sharpie.

IMG_0730Trace the image onto your fabric and hoop your fabric.

IMG_0731We’re going to start with the green thread.

IMG_0738Use the Back Stitch for each portion of the stem.

IMG_0743IMG_0746IMG_0752The motif shows two lines of stitches for the base stem.  You can do two like the motif (and I) did or you can choose to do only one.

IMG_0755If you want to be daring, you can even fill in between the two portions of the base stem.

IMG_0760Now, we’re going to move onto the Lazy Daisies.

IMG_0764I have never stitched this many Lazy Daisies before.  It was actually pretty fun!

IMG_0767IMG_0770IMG_0772Once the Lazy Daisies are done, we’ll move on to the blueberries.

IMG_0777Start with the dark blue thread and Back Stitch two of the berries at the top.

IMG_0778Stitch two more berries with the dark blue thread.

IMG_0784Finish off the blueberry bush with some light blue berries.

IMG_0950Our blueberry bush is complete!

Don’t you love it?!  I sure do!!

POPSUGAR Must Have Review – April 2015

Hi everyone!

It’s time for my monthly POPSUGAR Must Have review!

IMG_9791To receive POPSUGAR Must Have each month like I do, click here!

IMG_9739I’m so proud of myself! This month I refrained from looking at any spoilers before my box arrived!

The mystery was so much fun!

IMG_9751Each box comes with a little card detailing each item featured in the box.

IMG_9754Box Contents:

  • Dabney Lee – Dottie Umbrella
  • One Love Organics – Gardenia + Tea Antioxidant Body Serum
  • Produce Candles – Rhubarb Spring Candle
  • Flip & Tumble – 24-7 Bag
  • Potting Shed Creations – Garden-in-a-Bag Basil
  • Mott 50 – $25 Gift Card

IMG_9781Dabney Lee – Dottie Umbrella – Retail Value $20

I absolutely love this umbrella! The patten is adorable!

The polka dots are so much fun, and navy and pink are my favorite colors!

IMG_9787This umbrella is really well made!

I’ve used it once already, and since I live in Florida, I’m sure I’ll be using it again really soon!

IMG_9828One Love Organics – Gardenia + Tea Antioxidant Body Serum – Retail Value $39

I was expecting this serum to be a gel instead of the thin oil that it is.

It wasn’t what I was expecting, but I really do like it!  I’ve used it twice now, and it’s great!

So far, I like it best when applied right after shaving my legs!  My legs are so smooth afterwards!  So awesome!

It smells good too!

IMG_9814Produce Candles – Rhubarb Spring Candle – Retail Value $20

I LOVE this candle!  The packaging is adorable, and it smells fantastic!

IMG_9818The back of the candle has lots of good facts about rhubarb.  Very interesting!

I also got a coupon code for 35% off! What a deal!!

IMG_9773Flip & Tumble – 24-7 Bag – Retail Value $12

I love reusable bags.  I prefer mine to be structured though.

IMG_9801The bag is a decent size.  It’s also nifty that it fits in that tiny, little stretchy pouch.

IMG_9802I like the padded strap!  Such a great feature!

I also got a coupon for 20% off!  I don’t think I’ll use it, but it’s nice to have!

IMG_9821Potting Shed Creations – Garden-in-a-Bag Basil – Retail Value $10

I love this! It’s so cute and fun!

On the back of the bag, there’s lots of information about basil and how to grow this Garden-in-a-Bag.

When I get enough room on my counter top, I’m going to start growing basil!

IMG_9767Special Extra – Mott 50 – $25 Gift Card

I’ve been looking on the Mott 50 website to see if there is anything I’d like to buy.  I found some cute cardigans, but they’re kind of expensive even with the gift card.  I’ll have to see if my mom or any of my friends want to use it!

IMG_9744I really love the April box!  It’s so springy and fun!

Not including the gift card (that I probably won’t use) the total retail value is $101.

That’s the lowest retail value I’ve seen since subscribing in January, but I’m okay with it.  Most of this month’s products are awesome!

Now, I can’t wait for the May box to come out!

What do you think of the April POPSUGAR Must Have box?!

DIY Hand Embroidery Motif – Betsy the Butterfly

Hi everyone!

I have a fun, springy embroidery project for you! IMG_9400Supplies:

  • Doodle Stitching: The Motif Collection by Aimee Ray (get it here)
  • Embroidery hoop (4 inch)
  • Embroidery floss
  • Fabric
  • Scissors
  • Needle
  • Sharpie
  • Pencil

IMG_9399DMC Floss Colors:

  • 743 – dark yellow
  • 744 – light yellow
  • 958 – dark aqua
  • 964 – light aqua
IMG_9405

Design courtesy of Doodle Stitching

This is the butterfly motif we will be using. IMG_9408We’re going to start by printing out the motif and tracing it with a Sharpie. IMG_9409Use your pencil to trace Betsy onto your fabric.

IMG_9416 Begin with the light yellow thread.

This project is made (almost) entirely with the Split Stitch.

This was my first time using the Split Stitch, and I’m not so sure about it. IMG_9418Continue with the light yellow and finish stitching the antennae. IMG_9424Continue with the light yellow thread.

Part of why I don’t like this stitch is that it’s not clean.  The threads were going everywhere and I wasn’t pleased. IMG_9428Use the light aqua thread to stitch Betsy’s head and body. IMG_9435Continue with the light aqua thread. IMG_9438Now, were going to move on to the dark aqua thread. IMG_9440Do you see what I mean about the stitch not being clean? The loose threads drive me crazy! IMG_9442I apologize for the blurry picture.  My camera wouldn’t focus.

We’re going to Satin Stitch the dots on each wing.  Before we do that though, we’re going to outline the dot first. IMG_9446Now, Satin Stitch over the outline. IMG_9448Do the same for the other dot. IMG_9450Now, use the dark yellow for the larger wing section. IMG_9454Continue on with the dark yellow thread and finish up the wings. IMG_9461Betsy the Butterfly is complete!

I love this motif but not the Split Stitch!  I won’t be using it again for quite some time!

What do you think about the Split Stitch?

DIY Hand Embroidery Motif – Fairy Cottage

Hi everyone!

As promised, here is another embroidery project featuring the Stem/Outline Stitch!

IMG_9253Supplies:

  • Doodle Stitching: The Motif Collection by Aimee Ray (get it here)
  • Embroidery floss
  • Embroidery hoop (7 inch)
  • Fabric
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Sharpie
  • Needle

IMG_9256DMC Floss Colors:

  • 704 – green
  • 747 – light blue
  • 996 – blue
  • 3705 – dark coraly pink
  • 3706 – medium coraly pink
  • 3770 – very light peach
IMG_9250

Design courtesy of Doodle Stitching

This is the cottage motif we will be using!

Feel free to switch up your thread colors!  I did (a little bit!)

IMG_9262Start by printing out the design and tracing over it with a Sharpie.  I like to use the Ultra Fine Point.

IMG_9263Use a pencil to trace the design onto your fabric.

I went with a white fabric with a (kind of) subtle abstract, floral pattern on it.  Throughout the project, I had a love/hate relationship with my fabric.  This fabric has a thicker weave than I’m used to and can be a little distracting.  I got over it though and am satisfied with the final product! (Which you will see in a few minutes!)

IMG_9268Start with the blue floss and Back Stitch the walls of the cottage.

IMG_9270Here comes the Stem/Outline Stitch!

My thread pulled a little on the right swirly.  I had to go back and tuck it back in.

IMG_9273I chose to stitch the stems over the blue, because in reality, the flowers would be on the outside of the house.

IMG_9276Continue on across the side of the house.

IMG_9280Use the darker, coral thread to Back Stitch the heart.

IMG_9281Now, comes the hardest part!

Use the Stem/Outline Stitch for the scalloped rooftop.

IMG_9290This rooftop took the longest amount of time!

IMG_9297I can’t tell you how many times I stabbed my left thumb with my needle while stitching this! 🙁

Because my fabric was so thick, I had to push with my right hand (which ended up bruising) and pull with my left.

IMG_9298After one too many stabs to the thumb, I took a break from the rooftop and stitched the curtains.

I used the medium coral for this part.

IMG_9303Use the light blue thread and the Back Stitch for the window.

IMG_9308Continuing with the Back Stitch, use the light peach thread for the door.

IMG_9310We’re going to Satin Stitch the doorknob, but before doing that, we’re going to Back Stitch the outline.

My Granny told my Mom (who told me) that this is the easiest way to do the Satin Stitch.

IMG_9313Now, Satin Stitch over the doorknob outline.

IMG_9315Moving onto the window frame.

Continue with the Back Stitch.

IMG_9318I tried my best to center the vertical stitches as much as possible.

IMG_9321Now, finish up the outer window frame.

IMG_9323Using the medium coral, Back Stitch every other “flower.”

IMG_9330I apologize for randomly skipping around.  I don’t know what I was doing!

Again with the light peach and the Back Stitch, create the chimney.

IMG_9335Now, we’re going back to the rooftop!IMG_9337The hardest part of stitching the rooftop was lining up the first and last stitch to make it look seamless.  I stitched it five times before I was satisfied!  Can you tell?!

IMG_9340Back to the flowers!

Finish up the medium coral flower on the right of the door, and then stitch the remaining three with the darker coral thread.

IMG_9345Once the flowers are complete, you are done!

IMG_9349So cute! I absolutely LOVE the way this turned out!

There are quite a few fairy motifs in the Doodle Stitching book.  I’ll probably do another one soon!

Happy Crafting!!
