FabFitFun Winter 2020 Review - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

It’s the most wonderful time of the year — it’s FabFitFun Winter 2020 review time! Ever since I started getting subscription boxes (about 6-7 years ago) the winter/holiday boxes have always been my favorite! This time of year boxes are always packed with luxurious, fancy things, and I’m here for it! And the FabFitFun Winter 2020 box? It did not disappoint!

Parker, Black Labrador Retriever - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

My Parky boy wanted to get in on the FabFitFun action this season too!

FabFitFun Winter 2020 Review

Shortly before the customization window opened for this season’s box, I updated by subscription to the annual membership, and I’m so glad I did! One of the perks of the annual subscription is additional customization options, but the perk I’m most excited for? Earlier shipping! I love winter boxes, and I hate waiting, so upgrading was the logical choice!

FabFitFun Fashion Accessories - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

kate spade new york – Rise & Shine Stud Earrings – Retail Value $68

There were two items I was most excited to receive and two items I’ve been wearing nonstop since receiving my box. One of those items are the pearl earrings included in this set! As soon as FFF sneaked these earrings on social, I knew I just had to have them!

I’ve worn these pearls several times a week for the last few weeks, and I see that trend continuing for many weeks and months to come! They are simple, yet classy and chic! I wear pearls with everything, so I’m ecstatic to add these beauties to my earring collection.

The shimmer studs I have not yet worn and likely won’t wear too often. They’re very pretty but not as much my style. The pearls though? They make the whole set worth it for me!

Lele Sadoughi – Maroon Velvet Headband – Retail Value $49

The second item I was most excited to receive and the other item I’ve been wearing nonstop? This headband! The velvet is luxurious, the maroon color is rich, and all-in-all, it’s the perfect headband for the fall and winter season!

Before getting my box in the mail, I was worried that the headband would be too wide and wouldn’t work with my glasses, but I’m happy to report that it works very well with my glasses!

I’m so into this headband that I may or may not have purchased a black velvet and ivory velvet version for myself over the weekend! The black and ivory versions are slightly thinner, which I think will be even better for my glasses.

I will admit the price point for this headband is a tad high, but the quality is great and I think the solid ones are worth the price. (You can also get 10% off by signing up for emails, which I definitely did!)

nOir Jewelry – Ombre Leopard Scrunchies – Retail Value $25

I love scrunchies and am even developing a taste for leopard print these days, so I was excited to see this trio of scrunchies in my box this quarter. However, I’m slightly disappointed in the fabric quality. The fabric is thinner than I was expecting and not as nice what I’ve come to expect from FFF.

The other items I received in this box more than make up for the slight scrunchie let down.

Voir Haircare – Rhythm of the Rain – Hair Masque & Scalp Detox – Retail Value $28

I love a hair mask, and I’m actually running low, so this couldn’t have come at a better time!

A lot of the hair masks I buy come in tubs, so I love that this one is a tube. It’s so much easier to squeeze a mask into your hand and apply than it is to unscrew a lid, scoop out some mask, and then screw the lid back on without filling your entire mask tub with shower water. Anyone else understand my struggle?

While I love the packaging of this mask, I’m not the biggest fan of the mask itself. I’ve used it twice and both times my hair felt weird the next morning. Not as silky and smooth as normal. I think the different texture might have something to do with the “scalp detox” properties, but I can’t say for sure.

I’m going to see if any of my friends are interested in giving this mask a try. It smells great but just doesn’t work for my hair type.

Whish – Lip Scrub in Vanilla Bean – Retail Value $20

If you saw my November Favorites blog post, then you know I love my chapstick and apply it constantly. Because of that, my lips are rarely (if ever) dry, chapped. etc.

I gave it a try and scrubbed my lips last week though. When I was applying it, I didn’t really think anything was happening. It smelled great, but the sugar didn’t seem rough enough to really do much exfoliating. However, I’m pleased to report that after wiping on the scrub, my lips did feel different!

It worked! I shouldn’t have been such a skeptic!

Algenist – Complete Eye Renewal Balm – Retail Value $68

Eye creams are one of those products that are always included in subscription boxes. You know what though? Unlike sea salt hair sprays (which without fail are always included in summer subscription boxes), I welcome a new eye cream!

These days, I apply eye cream in the morning and evening, so whether an eye cream is for daytime or nighttime, I have a use for it!

I don’t know about you, but I actually have trouble finding eye creams that are specifically for nighttime use (ones without caffeine), so anytime I come across one, I’m a happy camper.

I like how thick this balm is. I’ve been applying once a day for a week or two now and am happy!

Phase Zero Makeup – Making Moves Blusher – Retail Value $27.50

Something that goes great with my new earrings and headband? A natural flush!

I have quite a few blushes that I keep in rotation and use on a weekly basis, and I’m excited to add another color to the mix.

My friends and I were discussing this blush and whether or not it’s a dupe for NARS Orgasm. I’ve been using the NARS blush for years, so I did a side-by-side comparison. In my opinion, the NARS blush leans more on the pinky peach side, where this blush (Phase Zero) is a darker orangey peach.

Both are pretty and both will get used by me! One thing to note is that this blush is very pigmented, so just a tiny bit on your blush brush goes a long way! Trust me when I say that! I’ve had to apply some extra loose powder a few times recently to try to lessen the severity of the blush on my face. Haha!

FabFitFun Kitchen Items - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

eparé – Cutting Board (Set of 4) – Retail Value $19.95

I cook several times a week and always find myself in need of another cutting board, so a four-pack of colorful, bendy ones? I’ll take them!

I’ve cooked with these boards several times now and have found that the non-slip backing is not actually non-slip on my countertops at least not when I’m cutting harder foods like sweet potatoes. However, the board was great for chopping celery and prepping chicken tenders.

I definitely plan on making these boards a staple in my cooking routine. I will probably only use them for meat prep and cutting softer things though just to stay on the safe side!

KIND – Thins

Lastly, FFF included a KIND bar in my box as well. I love snacks, so it was a welcome addition!

The bar was tasty and definitely something I would eat again if offered one.

FabFitFun Winter 2020 Review - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

All in all, my FabFitFun Winter 2020 box was fantastic! I didn’t love everything but the items I did love, I really really love!

I paid about $40 for this box and received over $305.45 worth of products. That’s quite a bit lower than the total value of the FabFitFun Fall 2020 box, but that’s okay. I’m still very happy with my FabFitFun Winter 2020 box!

Do you subscribe to FabFitFun? If so, what do you think of your Winter 2020 box?

If you’re not already a subscriber and want to snag next season’s box, I can get you $10 off! What a deal!
