POPSUGAR Must Have Spring 2020 Review

Spring is wrapping up and summer is quickly approaching, which means it’s about time I shared my POPSUGAR Must Have Spring 2020 review! If you’ve been a PBTT reader for any length of time, then you’ll know I’ve been a POPSUGAR subscriber for many, many years! I still have mixed feelings about their switch from monthly to seasonal boxes, but no matter what, I love seeing these boxes show up in my mailbox!

If you’re interested in subscribing too, you can get $20 off your first box! What a great deal!

POPSUGAR Must Have Spring 2020 Review

My Lab, Parker, loves checking out my boxes each season and looking to see if any of the items are for him! Unfortunately for him, none of the items this season are for pups! I did try to put the blue-light glasses on him and he was NOT having it! LOL

Popsugar Spring 2020 Beauty

Omorovicza – Magic Moisture Mist – Retail Value $95

I’m always so intrigued by the beauty items that POPSUGAR includes each season. They’re typically from high-ends brands I’ve never tried before.

This moisture mist certainly fits that bill! I had to enlist one of my friends to help me figure out what exactly a ‘moisture mist’ is for. She’s a beauty guru and let me know a few different ways this spray can be used. After trying a few different things, I decided that I like it best when sprayed right after my morning moisturizer and before I apply my foundation.

If you’re wary about face sprays, this one really is great! The mist is SO FINE, way better than some of the other options out there. If you’ve ever used a ‘chunky’ face spray, then you know how important and refreshing a nice mist can be!

Glow Recipe – Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask – Retail Value $42

I LOVE a good eye mask! Especially one that is clearly marked with its intended daypart. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been bitten by eye creams that are for daytime use and are not labeled as such.

If you’ve never experienced the horrible sleep (or complete lack thereof) that comes with using a daytime eye cream at night, you are extremely lucky. If you have experienced all that loveliness, then give this eye cream a try! It’s rich, a pretty green color, and doesn’t disrupt your beauty sleep with caffeine.

POPSUGAR Spring 2020 Dishware

Canvas Home – Shell Bisque Cereal Bowls – Retail Value $66

If you know anything about me, then you probably know that I LOVE color! Light colors, dark colors, bright colors — all colors are for me!

Here’s a peak inside my dish cabinet. As you can see these new cereal bowls (pictured bottom right) fit right in!

Have you ever seen a happier kitchen cabinet? I sure haven’t!

POPSUGAR Spring 2020 Lifestyle

Bluma Project – Luna Necklace in Sand – Retail Value $75

This season, we were able to choose what color necklace we wanted. Between blue and beige-blush, I clearly went with the more neutral option!

I don’t wear a ton of statement jewelry these days but figured that the more neutral option would be best. I’m definitely more likely to wear it if it’s easy to match with my clothes.

Unfortunately, we’ve been on quarantine since my box arrived, so I haven’t had a chance to take this necklace for a spin yet. I’m excited to pair it with a few things as soon as quarantine lifts though. I think it’ll look great with a black blouse and high-waisted jeans!

The Book Club – Anti Blue Light Lenses – Retail Value $30

I’ve been intrigued by blue-light glasses for some time now, so I was very excited to see these included in my box this season. POPSUGAR let us choose between four styles, and I went with a clear, cateye shape. I have a pair of prescription cateye glasses, which I adore, so I figured cateye would be fun for these too.

I wear prescription glasses almost everyday and always at work, so I knew when I tried these out, I’d have to wear my contacts. I have pretty dry eyes, so I typically only wear contacts on days when I’m in the water or doing a big activity.

After trying blue-light glasses, I don’t think I’m a big fan. It’s not the glasses’ fault though. The glasses are super cute and very nice, they just aren’t for me.

I found that my eyes get too dry while wearing my contacts to comfortably wear them for a full workday. Also, it’s quite distracting that the second you put the glasses on, your entire field of vision has a yellow tint. I understand that’s how the technology works, but I just can’t get behind that. I work with a lot of color in my life and am not comfortable wearing glasses that distort my perception of that color. Like I said though, that’s all on me and not the glasses. The glasses are adorable and functional if you have the right eyes!

POPSUGAR Spring 2020 Crystals

Smudge Wellness – Glow Spell – Retail Value $49.50

Here’s another item that’s pretty but just not for me. I’m not a believer in crystals, tarot cards, etc., so I’m just not quite sure what to do with these.

I work with a girl who is all about crystals though, so I may check with her and see if she’s interested in these ones!

POPSUGAR Spring 2020 Special Extras

Yogi – Blackberry Apple Cider Digestive Awakening Tea – Special Extra

I love a good cup of tea! Especially caffeine-free tea before bed. There’s just something so soothing about it.

I was a little skeptical of the ‘apple cider vinegar’ aspect, but as long as you don’t sniff the tea bag too hard before steeping, you might never notice that it has apple cider vinegar in it. All in all, a very tasty before-bed tea option.

Clorox Scentiva – Disinfecting Wipes – Special Extra

Like I mentioned earlier, I received this box right after the mandatory quarantine started her in Florida. I don’t think POPSUGAR could’ve planned a better extra than Clorox wipes! How convenient that these showed up at my door right as all the stores were selling out of cleaning supplies!

I already have an open container of wipes, so I’m saving these to begin using as soon as my current container is empty. I’m most looking forward to the grapefruit one — citrus is one of my all-time favorite scents!

POPSUGAR Must Have Spring 2020 Review

Well there you have it, my full POPSUGAR Must Have Spring 2020 review! This box has a total retail value of $357.50, which is remarkable! My favorite items this season (and Parker’s favorites too) are the eye cream and the cereal bowls!

What about you? Do you subscribe to POPSUGAR Must Have? If so, what are your favorite items this season? If you don’t already subscribe, grab $20 off your first box!

FabFitFun Spring 2020 Review

FabFitFun Spring 2020 Review - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Spring is here and so is this season’s FabFitFun box! Follow along below as Parker (my pup) helps me review the FabFitFun Spring 2020 box!

FabFitFun Spring 2020 Review - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

FabFitFun Spring 2020 Review

Parker’s first impression, “This sweater really is one size fits all!”

My first impression, “What a colorful box of goodies!”

It’s been almost two years since I received my last FFF box, so I’m pumped to dive into this one!

Ribbed Cardigan from FFF Spring 2020

Donni – Ribbed Sweater Coat – Retail Value $99

After seeing quite a few ads for this seasons’ box, I decided to subscribe because there were a few items that really caught my eye! One of those items is this cardigan. I LOVE cardigans and wear them all the time, so of course, I had to have this one.

This sweater is marked as one size fits all, which I don’t think is entirely true. While the sweater does technically fit, it doesn’t fit well enough to wear out on the town. It’s quite baggy on me, so I’ll only be wearing it inside my apartment. With that being said, I’ve been living in this cardigan since I received it, especially as I’ve been working from home for the last two weeks.

Calpak Packing Cubes from FFF Spring 2020

Calpak – Packing Cubes in Tutti Fruity – Retail Value $40

These packing cubes are another reason I decided to subscribe this season. I just couldn’t resist the adorable citrus pattern! It’s just too cute!

I have a trip planned for this May, and you better believe I’ll be packing these cuties in my suitcase! This set comes with three cubes sizes, which I think will help a lot with my suitcase organization but will probably not help with my tendency to overpack!

Reusable Straws from FFF Spring 2020

Chic & Tonic – Silicone Straws – Retail Value $15

The third and final item that convinced me to get this season’s box. How cheery and cute are these silicone straws?! If I were to describe these in one word, it would be “happy!”

This set comes with four straws, a brush for cleaning, and a carrying case. I’ve been using these straws nonstop over the last few weeks and don’t see that changing anytime soon — mainly because of how cute they look in my sparkling water!

Weight Sleep Mask from FFF Spring 2020

Gravity – Weighted Sleep Mask – Retail Value $39.99

After subscribing, I saw that this weighted sleep mask was one of my customization options and couldn’t resist selecting it. I have trouble sleeping sometimes, so I love trying new things that may help!

Weighted blankets are all the rage these days, so before taking the plunge and purchasing one, I figured I’d get my feet wet with the sleep mask first.

I sleep on my stomach or on my side most of the time, which is not ideal when it comes to using this mask. The mask will work much better for back sleepers. For me, I’ll have to take it with me the next time I go on a trip. It may work well as I lean my head back and try to sleep on an airplane.

Four Beauty Products from FFF Spring 2020

Here come the beauty products!

AG Hair – Fast Food Leave-On Conditioner – Retail Value $24

I use leave-in conditioner every night after I shower, so I was very pleased to see this product in my box. I’ve been using it every single night for the last few weeks and have been liking it quite a bit.

I probably won’t repurchase because my usual leave-in is a little cheaper, but I will definitely finish this entire tube.

Pürlisse – Watermelon Energizing 2 Minute Polishing Peel – Retail Value $35

This is another item that just screams “happiness” to me! The watermelon packaging is bright and cheerful and actually makes me think of summertime. It smells like watermelon candy too, which is another fun touch!

Unfortunately, the peel does not agree with my skin. I used it twice, and both times, I had a lot of breakouts to deal with. That’s not fun, but what will be fun is gifting this to one of my (less skin sensitive) friends!

This Works – Deep Sleep Body Cocoon – Retail Value $40

Like I mentioned above, I absolutely love trying “sleepytime” items. I use quite a few of the Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy sleep items already, so this cream is right up my alley!

I’ve been using it on my arms and legs a few nights a week and have been loving how calming the scent is. It’s the perfect blend of lavender and vetivert. The consistency is great too!

Jabonería Marianella – Imperial Jade Body Oil – Retail Value $68

Last but not least, we have a body oil! I’m going to be honest with you and tell you that I have not tried this product yet. Parker (my pup) has a thing for licking my legs when I apply lotions and such, and I haven’t worked up the energy to fend him off as I apply this one.

Now, you may be wondering why I’m able to apply the body cocoon above and not the oil. Well, the body cocoon I apply while I’m in bed and under the covers (a place where his tongue can’t reach). The oil I would need to apply in the bathroom, and I just know that he would be ALL over me! That’s being said. I will do my best to try this product soon!

FabFitFun Spring 2020 Review - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

All in all, I would say the FabFitFun Spring 2020 box was pretty great! I paid around $40 for this box, which has a total retail value of $361. That’s not too shabby at all!

Do you subscribe to FabFitFun? If so, what do you think of your Spring 2020 box?

If you’re not already a subscriber and want next season’s box, I can get you $10 off! What a deal!

PLAY! by Sephora Review: October 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Happy Halloween!

I wanted to test the October products for a little while longer this month, so I pushed back my review until the last possible moment!

PLAY! by Sephora Review: October 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

“Complexion Companions” is the theme for the October box! All of this month’s products (aside from the fragrance sample) are complexion-related.

This month’s PLAY!BOOK features an adorable “get ready with me” series full of tips and tricks to prepare your face for the day.

Becca – First Light Filter Face Primer

You know me well enough by now to know how much I love trying new primers!

This Becca primer is the prettiest shade of lilac and is very thin and lightweight. The primer is so light that I actually think the bottle feels half empty.

There’s nothing that excites me about this primer (aside from the color!) I don’t love it enough to by the full size, but I will be finishing up this little tube.

PLAY! by Sephora Review: October 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Make Up For Ever – Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation in R230

I can’t tell you how excited I was when I pulled this foundation sample out of my PLAY! bag. If you watched my IG Story a few weeks ago, you can attest that I was very pleased!

One of the two foundations that I currently switch off between each day is actually Make Up For Ever Ultra HD. I’ve been using it for several years now and absolutely love the formula and the coverage!

Unfortunately, the shade I received in this month’s box doesn’t work for me. However, my PLAY!BOOK says that I can go into a Sephora store with my PLAY!PASS and get a sample that’s just right for me! (I wear shade Y235.) That is fantastic news!

Make Up For Ever – Ultra HD Skin Booster

As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I put off writing this review for a week or so because I wanted to really get an in-depth feel for a few of the products. This skin booster was one of the products that I needed a little more time with.

My PLAY!BOOK says that this product is “a skin-perfecting serum that plumps, smooths, and hydrates your skin for flawless makeup application.”

I’ve used the skin booster several times and haven’t noticed any difference in my makeup application. I think this might be one of those products that just doesn’t work for me.

PLAY! by Sephora Review: October 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Laura Mercier – Translucent Powder

A few months back, I went on a mission to find my new, favorite setting powder. I used the Urban Decay loose powder for years and LOVED it. Over the last few years, it’s become increasingly difficult to find. Because of that, I decided to abandon ship and find a powder that worked just as well but was easier to come by.

While on that mission, I tried the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder. I thought it was going to be my new favorite, but alas, I was wrong. This powder is a little chunkier and perhaps slightly more moist than I would like.

Eventually, I settled on the bareminerals Mineral Veil loose powder. Their powder is nice and fine and perfectly suits my needs.

Even though I didn’t find the Laura Mercier powder to be my favorite, I’ll still save this sample and use it in a pinch!

PLAY! by Sephora Review: October 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Cover FX – Custom Enhancer Drops in Moonlight

Cover FX drops have interested me for months now. I heard about their Custom Cover Drops at an in-store PLAY! event and have wanted to try them ever since.

These drops are slightly different but are still the same idea. All you have to do is add a few drops to your foundation and then apply to the areas of your face where you’d like a little highlight.

I’m not the best at highlighting my face. I usually stay away from contouring products, because I don’t want to accidentally make myself look like a clown! However, these drops were super easy to use! I’m going to save them for special events when I want to add a little extra glow to my face.

Chanel – Gabrielle Chanel

You know by now that perfume and I don’t get along! 😉

PLAY! By Sephora Review: September 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Hello, friends!

I hope you all are having a great week so far! Mine is shaping up to be a pretty good one! Starting it off with a PLAY! by Sephora review is always fun!

PLAY! By Sephora Review: September 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

“Fall Into Beauty” is the theme for the September 2017 box. Quite fitting since fall just officially began!

This month’s PLAY!BOOK is full of tips and tricks for transitioning your beauty/hair/skincare routines to fall. Lots of great tips this month!

PLAY! By Sephora Review: September 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Box Contents:

 • Benefit Cosmetics – Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel
 • stila – Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner

Benefit Cosmetics – Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel

Y’all have probably figured out by now that I’m a lover of Benefit Cosmetics. I use their moisturizer every single day and one of their primers several days a week.

You probably also know that I don’t do much (anything actually) with my eyebrows. I have thick brows, so I never feel the need to fill them. Even if I wanted to, this shade of brow gel is a little too dark for me.

My sister-in-law has darker hair, so I’m going to see if she’d like to give this product a try!

PLAY! By Sephora Review: September 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

stila – Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner

Another thing I’m sure you’ve noticed is that I rarely wear eye liner. I have the hardest time applying it, so I usually only wear it for special events.

My mom uses this particular eye liner every day, so she’s happy to take this sample off my hands!

PLAY! By Sephora Review: September 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

DevaCurl – Melt Into Moisture Match Butter Conditioning Mask

One thing I do love? Hair masks! I discovered my love of hair masks in a POPSUGAR Must Have box many moons ago!

Because of their brand name (devaCURL), I always thought that all their products were for curly-haired girls. As a straight-haired curl, I don’t have much use for curly products.

I am happy (ECSTATIC, actually) to report that this hair mask is INCREDIBLE!! I’ve used it twice now and have been so impressed with the results. One of my good friends told me that my hair looked “the best she’d ever seen it” after I used this mask!

I worked a quarter-size amount into my hair after shampooing. I went about my shower (about seven minutes) and then rinsed and combed it through. I slept with it wet and brushed it the next morning. TA-DA! The best hair ever!

I will definitely be purchasing a full-size bottle once this sample is empty.

PLAY! By Sephora Review: September 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Laura Mercier – Velour Lovers Lip Colour in Happy

Another thing I love? Lipstick! There’s just something about lip color!

I’m not sure if you can see it, but this lipstick has tiny shimmers in it. That scared me a little at first. I don’t particularly love glitter on my lips. However, once the lipstick is applied, you can’t really see the glitter! Woohoo!! That makes me very happy! 😉

“Happy” is a warm fuschia color that’s quite fun! It’s bright, but I like it! I think this color is better suited for spring/summer instead of winter/fall though.

PLAY! By Sephora Review: September 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

belif – The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb

One of my friends really likes this cream, so I was excited to give it a try. I’m always wary of breaking out when I try new moisturizers. Thankfully, this one agreed with my skin!

Although it agreed with me, there’s nothing super exciting about it for me. There’s nothing bad about the product. I just prefer my Benefit moisturizer.

PLAY! By Sephora Review: September 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Giorgio Armani – Acque di Gioia

Another month. Another fragrance sample.

PLAY! By Sephora Review: September 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

The drawstring bag for September is super fancy and satiny. It’s a pretty color too! My sister-in-law took the last satiny bag, so maybe I’ll manage to hang on to this one for a bit! 🙂

PLAY! By Sephora Review: September 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

September was a decent month for me! The lipstick is great, and I LOVE the hair mask!

PLAY! By Sephora Review: August 2017

PLAY! By Sephora Review: August 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Hello, hello!

It’s always an exciting day when my PLAY! By Sephora box arrives! I do my best to avoid any and all spoilers each month. I love for my PLAY! and POPSUGAR boxes to be complete surprises! 🙂

PLAY! By Sephora Review: August 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

The August 2017 box revolves around the Elements of Beauty.

PLAY! By Sephora Review: August 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

This month’s PLAY!BOOK has an adorable periodic table of all the different ingredients that can be found in beauty products. It lists the ingredient, in which product(s) it can be found, and what it’s best for. How neat is that? I’ve learned a lot from looking at this little table!

PLAY! By Sephora Review: August 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Box Contents:

 • beautyblender – beautyblender micro mini
 • Clinique – HIM Dual-Ended High Impact Mascara & Primer Duo
 • Hourglass – Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick in Shell
 • Korres – Golden Krokus Ageless Saffron Elixir Serum
 • Alterna Haircare – CAVIAR – Anti-Aging Miracle Multiplying Volume Mist
 • Burberry – My Burberry Black
 • Drawstring bag

PLAY! By Sephora Review: August 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

beautyblender – beautyblender micro mini

Beautyblenders are the best! I’ve been using the full-size one for years and love the way it applies my foundation. I was so excited when I pulled this little, cutie out of my bag!

Once you add water, the blender grows quite a bit. It’s still pretty tiny though so gripping it while applying your concealer is a little awkward! I’ll still be using it though. 🙂

PLAY! By Sephora Review: August 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Clinique – HIM Dual-Ended High Impact Mascara & Primer Duo

I’ve been using Clinique makeup for years. It’s actually the first real makeup I ever used! I have sensitive skin (as I’m sure you know by now!), so all their products work really well for me!

I haven’t used a mascara+primer product in years, so I wasn’t really sure about this product. Surprisingly (at least to me), I LOVE it!! The primer goes on really nicely and my lashes are long and soft after it’s all said and done. I will definitely be using this duo until the bitter end!

PLAY! By Sephora Review: August 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Hourglass – Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick in Shell

I’ve never used a stick foundation before, so I was quite intrigued when I pulled this out of my bag.

At first, I was concerned that the shade might be too dark, but I actually think it works well on me. I don’t, however, like how much product you have to use to cover your face. I applied the foundation two times and still felt like I needed a little more for the right amount of coverage.

I think what I’m going to do is save this foundation to use as a concealer when I have a particularly stubborn blemish!

PLAY! By Sephora Review: August 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Korres – Golden Krokus Ageless Saffron Elixir Serum

I LOVE a good anti-wrinkle product, so I’m always pleased when I get them in my subscription boxes. Unfortunately, this serum isn’t for me. After one use, my face broke out in lots and lots of places. Yikes!!

Because of that, I will have to find another home for this guy!

PLAY! By Sephora Review: August 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Alterna Haircare – CAVIAR – Anti-Aging Miracle Multiplying Volume Mist

I’m a big fan of Alterna hair products. I’ve been using their leave-in conditioner for many, many years now. I also love their heat protecting spray.

This product is for blow-dried hair (which I never do), so I gave it to my mom to test out. She likes it a lot! She has thin hair, so she often worries about the weight of the hair products she’s using. This spray is very light, so it works really well for her. Also, it smells wonderful! 🙂

PLAY! By Sephora Review: August 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Burberry – My Burberry Black

If you’ve read any of my PLAY! reviews before, then you know I’m not big on fragrances. So there’s nothing new on the perfume front this month!

PLAY! By Sephora Review: August 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

The August bag is quirky and cute! I’m a glasses-wearer, so I appreciate the red specs! 🙂

PLAY! By Sephora Review: August 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

August was a so-so month for me. I will gets lots of use out of the mascara and the beautyblender, but not so much out of the other products. That’s okay though. You can’t win them all!

PLAY! By Sephora Review: July 2017

PLAY! By Sephora Review: July 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Hello, Beauty Gurus!

It’s that time again! My PLAY! By Sephora box has arrived, so let’s dive on in!

PLAY! By Sephora Review: July 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

“Beauty Staycation” is the theme for the July 2017 PLAY! box!

PLAY! By Sephora Review: July 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

The July PLAY! BOOK includes lots of beauty and skincare tips for when you’re on vacation or just relaxing at home.

My favorite travel tip is packing your compacts with cotton rounds so the powder doesn’t break in transit! I’m definitely doing that the next time I go on a trip! A broken compact (spilled all over your pants) is guaranteed to ruin ANY day! 🙁

PLAY! By Sephora Review: July 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Here’s a look at the July PLAY! BOOK. The “How to use/How to apply” section is my favorite each month. Sometimes, I just really need to be told exactly how to use a product! Don’t you?

PLAY! By Sephora Review: July 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Box Contents:

 • Bobbi Brown – Eye Opening Mascara
 • Fresh – Rose Face Mask
 • Briogeo – Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray
 • Tarte – Rainforest of the Sea Color Splash Lipstick – Set Sail
 • Caudalie – Vine[Activ] Glow Activating Anti-Wrinkle Serum
 • Clean Reserve – Sueded Oud
 • Drawstring Bag

Bobbi Brown - PLAY! By Sephora Review: July 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Bobbi Brown – Eye Opening Mascara

I love a good mascara sample! I’ve received so many since subscribing to my first subscription box that I won’t need to buy any for a long, long time! Sometimes, I still do though! 🙂

This is my second Bobbi Brown mascara sample. I also have the Smoky Eye Mascara. Between the two, I prefer the Smokey Eye.

As you can see in the photo above, the Eye Opening Mascara is very chunky, which makes it hard for me to apply. There’s very little space between the handle and the spooli, so it’s hard to coat all my lashes without getting some product on my face. I don’t imagine that would be a problem with the full-size mascara though!

Fresh - PLAY! By Sephora Review: July 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Fresh – Rose Face Mask

I love Fresh so trying their products is always fun for me!

I’m not usually a face mask person, but I decided to give this one a go! I’ve already used it twice now.

This mask has more of a gel texture, so it’s super easy to wash off without making a huge mess. I’ve been putting it on after I get out of the shower and leaving it on while I brush my teeth and clean my makeup sponge. So far, it’s working out pretty well.

Briogeo - PLAY! By Sephora Review: July 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Briogeo – Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray

I’m a HUGE believer in leave-in conditioner. I use it every, single night!

I use conditioner for two things. One is obviously conditioning and the other is as a detangler. This Briogeo conditioner works wonderfully to condition my hair but doesn’t work so well at detangling.

I do think it’ll work pretty well after I use my favorite Briogeo hair mask though. I meant to try them together the other night but completely forgot until after applied a different conditioner!

Tarte - PLAY! By Sephora Review: July 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Tarte – Rainforest of the Sea Color Splash Lipstick – Set Sail

I love Tarte lipsticks! I keep one in my purse (along with five other lip products!) at all times.

When I first saw the color of this lipstick, I didn’t think the dark nude shade was for me. However, after applying, I’ve decided that I love it! It’s a great natural, neutral shade for everyday wear.

Caudalie - PLAY! By Sephora Review: July 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Caudalie – Vine[Activ] Glow Activating Anti-Wrinkle Serum

I may only be 23 years old, but I’m a big fan of wrinkle cream! It’s never too early to start preventing wrinkles, right?!

I’ve been out of my usual wrinkle cream for a few weeks now (whoopsie!), so this sample couldn’t have come at a better time!

I love how this serum smells. It has a very earthy, planty scent like it came straight from the garden! Very nice!

Clean Reserve - PLAY! By Sephora Review: July 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Clean Reserve – Sueded Oud

Surprisingly enough, I like the way this month’s fragrance sample smells! I still probably won’t wear it though. Perfume wafting all around doesn’t usually end well for me.

How cute is this month’s gingham bag?! I am ALL about it!

“Glamp out!” is pretty cute too!

I’m pretty pleased with the majority of this month’s products!

Benefit Cosmetics: The POREfessional Face Primer

I’ve been using POREfessional for over three years now! I’ve tried many primers over the years, but I always come back to this one. It goes on very smooth and does a great job minimizing my pores.

My large bottle is almost empty, so I’m very pleased to receive this sample. I won’t have to buy another full-size bottle for a little while longer. Yay!!

PLAY! By Sephora Review: June 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

COOLA – Makeup Setting Spray SPF 30

I’ve received sunscreen setting sprays before. They’re a little thicker and greasier than regualr setting sprays but are SO much better than applying lotion sunscreens on top of your makeup!

I haven’t been able to locate my other sunscreen setting spray, so I’m happy to receive this one just in time for summer! I could’ve definitely used it over Memorial Day Weekend and will have many other opportunities to use it as the summer progresses.

PLAY! By Sephora Review: June 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Verb – Sea Spray

It wouldn’t be summer if I didn’t receive a sea spray in a subscription box! I received some last summer and will surely receive more this summer.

I don’t have much luck with sea sprays. My hair always ends up looking ratty and like I haven’t brushed it! Because of that, I gave this spray to my sister-in-law for her to play with!

PLAY! By Sephora Review: June 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Kat Von D – Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lovesick

I always love a lipstick sample! This one looks very similar to the NARS liquid lip I received a few months ago. However, this liquid lip is matte. I’m not usually drawn to matte lipsticks, but I really like this one!

Lovesick is a mauve nude that adds just the right amount of color to my lips. It’s nautral and great for everyday wear. I’ve worn it several times already and have added it to the growing collection of lipsticks that I keep in my purse!

PLAY! By Sephora Review: June 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Klorane – Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk

I’m a firm believer in washing my hair, so I don’t ever use dry shampoos. I used to try them in high school but never liked how my hair felt afterward. I have a friend who LOVES dry shampoo, so I’ll probably end up giving this sample to her.

PLAY! By Sephora Review: June 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

BVLGARI – Omnia Crystaline

As always, the fragrance samples just aren’t my thing! I don’t subscribe for the fragrance, so that’s okay!

PLAY! By Sephora Review: June 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Drawstring Bag

More cute swimmers! I love it! 🙂

I always look forward to seeing what Sephora comes up with each month for these bags!

I like half of this month’s products. One of which I’ll use everyday! The ratio of love/hate could be better, but I’m okay with it this month.

Sephora did something fun with this month’s PLAY! BOOK! I love learning new things about my favorite stores!

Unfortunately, my favorite doodles didn’t make an appearance this month! Hopefully, they’ll be back again next month!

NUDESTIX – Magnetic Matte Lip Color in Greystone

As you know, I love receiving lip colors in my subscription boxes! As soon as I pulled this lip color from my box, I was skeptical. It’s a dark brown color, which I find a tad odd. I applied it and thought it made me look a little like death! I have very fair skin, and brown is so not my color! 🙂

One of my best friends also subscribes to PLAY! and described this lipstick at chocolate on her lips!! How funny is that?!

PLAY! by Sephora Review: May 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Skin Laundry – Gentle Foaming Wash

I’d never heard of this brand before receiving it in my box. A friend of mine had though and said it was pretty good! I’m very pleased with the size of this sample! It comes with more than enough product for you to form an honest opinion of it before you use it all up!

My skin has been a tad itchy and irritated these last few days. I’m not sure if it’s from this cleanser or one of the other products in my box this month.

PLAY! by Sephora Review: May 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Belif – Hungarian Water Essence

This product really intrigued me! Hungarian water essence?! Doesn’t that just sound interesting!

As I mentioned above, my skin has been itchy and irritated this last week, so it’s either this product or the cleanser above that’s causing the problem. I’m going to wait a few weeks and then try these products individually to see which one is causing the irritation.

IMG_3009

Trèstique – Highlight + Perfect Multipurpose Stick in Maldives Luminescent

As you probably know by now, I don’t contour my face at all. Instead of using this as a highlighter, I’m using it as a multipurpose stick. I’ve been applying it as eye shadow for the last few days and love the color! It’s the prettiest champagne pink. Exactly what I like to use on my eyes!

PLAY! by Sephora Review: May 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Rahua – Omega 9 Hair Mask

I discovered my favorite hair mask in a PLAY! box last summer. Before subscribing to this box, I’d never tried a hair mask before.

My favorite mask is from Briogeo. This one isn’t bad, but I don’t like it as much as the Briogeo one. I will finish off the bottle though! I think I have at least one, maybe two, conditions left!

IMG_3012

Tocca – Stella

I received a candle from Tocca in my last POPSUGAR box and LOVE the scent! I don’t, however, love the scent of this perfume.

That’s okay though. As you know, I don’t purchase this box for the fragrance samples. 🙂

PLAY! by Sephora Review: May 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

I LOVE this month’s bag! It’s made of thicker plastic and seems quite durable! I’m going out of town this week, so I’ll be using this bag to hold my liquids in my carry on!

PLAY! by Sephora Review: May 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Overall, this month wasn’t that great for me. I am very pleased with the bag and multipurpose stick though!

PLAY! by Sephora Review: April 2017

Hello there!

It’s that time again! My PLAY! BOX has arrived, and I can’t wait to share it with you all!

PLAY! by Sephora Review: April 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

“Step it Up” is the theme for April. It’s all about updating your everyday routine.

Sephora mixed it up with the style of the April PLAY! BOOK. I love the little redhead that takes center stage this month! She’s so cute!

PLAY! by Sephora Review: April 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

I can’t help but miss the product illustrations! 🙁

They didn’t eliminate the doodles completely though, so I’m happy about that!

PLAY! by Sephora Review: April 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Box Contents:

 • Peter Thomas Roth – Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream
 • Philosophy – Made Simple Face Cleanser
 • Smashbox – Iconic Photo Finish Foundation Primer
 • Make Up For Ever – Aqua XL Eye Pencil Waterproof Eyeliner
 • Sephora Collection – Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover
 • Miu Miu – L’Eau Bleue
 • Drawstring Bag

PLAY! by Sephora Review: April 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Peter Thomas Roth – Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream

I don’t think I’ve ever tried any products from Peter Thomas Roth before. I’m always intrigued by brands I’ve never used before.

I’ve substituted this moisturizer into my evening moisturizing routine. It’s a little wet, but I expected that since “water” is in the name! I like it and will finish off the bottle. I don’t think I’ll be purchasing the full size anytime soon though.

PLAY! by Sephora Review: April 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Philosophy – Made Simple Face Cleanser

I’ve received this Philosophy sample before but didnt actually try it until it arrived in my PLAY! BOX.

I love that this cleanser works as a makeup remover too. I don’t typically use makeup remover, so I always rely on my face wash to do the job. Sometimes, my face wash doesn’t completely get the job done. This cleanser sure does though!

I’ll definitely be finishing up this bottle. I might save it for traveling though. It’s the perfect sample size to slip into my travel bag!

PLAY! by Sephora Review: April 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Smashbox – Iconic Photo Finish Foundation Primer

As you know, I love testing out different foundation primers. I’ve tried a few Smashbox primers before, but not this one.

I found this primer to be very wet. I’m not a huge fan of the texture either, so I don’t think I’ll be using this primer too often if at all. I will have to see if any of my friends are interested in giving it a try.

PLAY! by Sephora Review: April 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Make Up For Ever – Aqua XL Eye Pencil Waterproof Eyeliner

I’ve mentioned in previous posts, that I’m not so good at applying eyeliner. I can’t see well enough and shake a little. That is not a recipe for flawless eyeliner application! 🙂

I love Make Up For Ever products, so I did test this eyeliner out! In the PLAY! BOOK, it gives explanations for easy, medium, and expect eyeliner application. I loved that! I tried out the “easy” application and added a little to my bottom waterline. It was super easy to do, and I liked the look. I think I’ll be adding it to my eye routine a couple times a week!

PLAY! by Sephora Review: April 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Sephora Collection – Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover

As I mentioned above, I don’t typically use makeup remover. I probably should, but I’m just a little too lazy to add it to my routine.

I do like that Sephora included two products this month that would work on removing the waterproof eyeliner that was also included. That was great thinking on their part!

Although I don’t use remover often, I will save this for a time when I need it.

PLAY! by Sephora Review: April 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Miu Miu – L’Eau Bleue

As usual, I’m not a fan of this month’s fragrance sample. I don’t buy this box for the perfume though, so that’s okay!

PLAY! by Sephora Review: April 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

As I mentioned above, I love the little redhead this month! She is just too cute!

The quote on this month’s bag is pretty fun too! “The best things in life are me!”

PLAY! by Sephora Review: April 2017 - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

This month’s box wasn’t super exciting for me. I love the illustrations and like a few of the products, but I don’t think I discovered any “must have” products for myself this month.

I’m excited to see what next month holds though!

Beauty Review: Smashbox

Hello everyone!

I have a fun, little beauty review to share with you all today!

A few days ago, I received a few new Smashbox beauty products from Influenster to sample and review. I was provided these items for free but all opinions are my own.

Beauty Review: Smashbox - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Box Contents:

 • Be Legendary Liquid Metal – Brains ‘N Bronze
 • Cover Shot Eye Palette – Matte

Beauty Review: Smashbox - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Be Legendary Liquid Metal – Brains ‘N Bronze – Retail Value $24

As you know, I love sampling lip products! When I saw this liquid lip in my box, I was very excited.

I haven’t tried very many liquid lipsticks, and I haven’t tried a single metallic lip product before. So this liquid metal lipstick was quite intriguing for me! I have determined that I like the formula and the shine, but the actual color of this lipstick isn’t for me.

I have very fair skin and don’t see myself wearing this bronze shade too often. I may be able to pull it off during a fancy, evening party but not any other time. Unfortunately, I don’t go to too many fancy, evening parties!

Beauty Review: Smashbox - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Cover Shot Eye Palette – Matte – Retail Value $29

Eye shadow palettes are my other favorite to test out! I went through a faze two years ago and bought at least 10 palettes over the course of a few months! Excessive, I know! During that time, I did, however, discover what kind of shadows I like and what kinds I don’t.

I’m usually drawn to champagne colored shimmer shadows. They’re so pretty, natural, and versatile. I have so many of them already, that it’s probably for the best that there wasn’t a single one in this palette. Up until now, I really didn’t like matte shadows. I found them more difficult to blend and not as exciting.

Since receiving this palette, I have discovered that I do indeed enjoy matte eye shadows! Imagine that!

I love how this palette has two different looks to choose from. There’s there browner tones of the left and the pink berry tones on the right. I’ve used them both multiple times and prefer the browns. That dark purple shadow on the right seems to get away from me and sometimes it looks like I’ve given myself a black eye! Whoopsie!!

Beauty Review: Smashbox - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

I’ve loved sampling these new releases from Smashbox this last week. I’m definitely adding this matte palette into my weekly line up of eye shadows!

I’m going to try to find a time and place to wear the liquid lip. Perhaps I’ll try mixing it with something a little lighter?

Have you tried either of these products before?

If so, what did you think of them?
