Nail of the Day!

Hi all!

So I tried that nail polish technique I talked about in my last post again and it turned out pretty good this time!! Yay!!

This is what I was trying to do!  Looks pretty easy right?! Let me tell you, it definitely was not!

To create the mermaid nail look, I used Tania and Soraphine from my March Julep Maven Box.

I applied three coats of Soraphine to each of my fingers before I applied Tania.  Next time, I think I’m going to try four coats and see if that makes the white any more opaque.

The hardest part of creating the mermaid look was applying the perfect amount of glitter polish to my fingernails.  Oftentimes, I ended up putting on WAYYY too much!

I recommend wiping almost all the glitter nail polish off of the brush before attempting to apply it.  You’ll know when you have the perfect amount of polish on your brush because it will look like there is nothing left on it!

Here’s a picture of my right hand!  I think it looks a lot better than my left hand, which is odd, because I’m right handed and it would make more sense for my left hand to look better.

I will say that my fingernails look much better in person than they do in that picture.

Here is another technique I want to try!

This technique features Soraphine again as well as Myriam!  I’m not sure how to achieve those skinny lines! It’s something I’ll definitely have to experiment with!
