FabFitFun Summer 2018 Review - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Yumi Kim – Makeup Train Case – Retail Value $58

FabFitFun gives subscribers a few customization options each month. I chose this navy train case instead of a beach towel. I have tons of towels, so I figured a new bag was a better choice!

FabFitFun Summer 2018 Review - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

I love the navy and striped geometric pattern. It has a brush holder and a zipper pocket on top and a larger compartment on the bottom. I haven’t quite decided if I’m going to use this case for makeup or craft supplies yet. It’s going to be fantastic for both!

FabFitFun Summer 2018 Review - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

tarte tarteist – PRO glow highlight & contour palette – retail value $45

I’m not one for contouring, but I do love makeup palettes! Since subscribing to my first box years ago, I quickly learned that subscription boxes LOVE to give out contour palettes. Also, contour palettes work great as eyeshadow!

I’ve been using this palette as eyeshadow for several weeks now an absolutely love it! I’ve been using Stunner on my lid, Scuplt in my crease, and Strobe as a highlight under my brow. If you have this palette too, you should give it a try. I’ve gotten quite a few compliments on this look!

FabFitFun Summer 2018 Review - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Orlando Pita Play – Amos-Shield Hair Protectant Treatment Spray – Retail Value $34

Right before getting this box in the mail, I purchased some new heat protectant spray. Terrible timing, right? Oh, well! I will eventually use up the spray I bought and this one too! I always like having a little extra on hand anyway.

I’ve been using this heat spray for the last few weeks and really like it! It smells nice and doesn’t leave the floor all slippery. You might think that’s a weird comment, but if you use heat protectant spray regularly, then you probably know what I mean. Sometimes, the spray will get on the floor and almost take you down! Yikes!

FabFitFun Summer 2018 Review - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Minor History – Post Script Wallet – Retail Value $20

This wallet is cute but is teeny tiny! It would fit 2-3 cards and that’s about it.

I think it’s better served as a luggage tag. That’s probably how I’m going to end up using it!

FabFitFun Summer 2018 Review - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Jaboneria Marianella – Hawaiian Black Lava Body Caviar

This is another item that FabFitFun let us pick out! I chose this body caviar over a ring and muscle gel. Out of the three items offered, I made what I thought was the best choice. After receiving the scrub though, I’m just not quite sure.

I can’t determine exactly what scent the caviar is, but it smells tangy and is just a little off. I’m also not a huge fan of the charcoal. It’s a tad messy and gets all over the shower wall when you go to wash it off. I’ll have to see if any of my friends are interested in taking it off my hands.

FabFitFun Summer 2018 Review - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

COOLA – Face Sport SPF 50 White Tea Moisturizer – Retail Value $32

Sunscreen is a given when it comes to subscription boxes in the summer. I can guarantee that I will always get one, if not two or three, during the summer months. Although sunscreen is not an exciting product to receive, this fair-skinned girl doesn’t hate it! It’s definitely something that I will always use!

FabFitFun Summer 2018 Review - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

FOREO LUNA – fofo – Retail Value $89

I think it’s so funny that this FOREO LUNA is called a fofo. What kind of name is that?! Too funny!

Aside from the goofy name, I do like the product. It’s quite different from my Clarisonic Mia 2 though. The fofo is smaller and harder to hold once it gets soapy, but is great for my back and chest. Because of the shape, I find it’s more difficult to use on my face. Because of that, I will be sticking to my Clarisonic for face washing.

A huge feature of the FOREO LUNA fofo is that it connects to an app and has the ability to create a personalized profile just for you and can be customized to your skin and its sensitivities. That’s fantastic except I can’t get the app to work. I have several friends that also received the fofo and aren’t having any troubles with the app. I think it’s just me! I’m hoping to get the app working soon!

Pier 1 Imports – Marble Ring Dish – Retail Value $14.99

How cute is this dish? The gold detailing is very chic! You can bet you’ll see this cutie pop up on my Instagram page in a styled photo sometime soon.

FabFitFun Summer 2018 Review - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

The total retail value of my FabFitFun Summer 2018 box is $340.99. That’s incredible for a $50 box!

I got some great products this season and a few that I’m not in love with. Even so, I would consider the FabFitFun Summer 2018 box a success!

PLAY! by Sephora Review – July 2016

Hello everyone!

My PLAY! by Sephora box has arrived, and I can’t wait to share it with you!

IMG_1551

Popsicles!! Nothing says summer like Popsicles!

IMG_1584

The July theme is “Effortless Summer.” Sounds great to me!

IMG_1587

As always, the PLAY! BOOK is full of tons of tips and tricks for this month’s products.

IMG_1561

Box Contents:

  • NEST Fragrances – Citrine
  • First Aid Beauty – Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser with Red Clay
  • Ouai – Wave Spray
  • Smashbox – Photo Finish Pore Minimizing Primer
  • beautyblender – blotterazzi
  • Too Faced – Soleil Matte Bronzer – Chocolate
  • Drawstring Bag

IMG_1580

NEST Fragrances – Citrine

Unlike like last month’s fragrance sample, this one is a little too much for me.  I like how it smells in passing, but it’s too fragrant for me to wear.  No big deal though!  I never expect to like the perfumes!

IMG_1566

First Aid Beauty – Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser with Red Clay

I’ve been using this cleanser for several days now with my Clarisonic.  It works well and smells great! It has a minty almost menthol scent to it!

Although I like it, I don’t think I’ll be switching from my usual face soap.  I will continue to use it until I finish it.  I might even throw it in my travel bag for my next trip!

IMG_1574

Ouai – Wave Spray

I’m not a huge fan of beach spray hair products, but I gave this one the benefit of the doubt and tried it out!

You can use it on either damp or dry hair.  I tried it out on my dry hair and wasn’t in love with the results!  It just kind of looked like I hadn’t brushed my hair that day! YUCK!

IMG_1569

Smashbox – Photo Finish Pore Minimizing Primer

I use a pore minimizing primer almost every day, so I was quite pleased to see this in my box!  I typically use Benefit’s version but Smashbox’s is great too!

I’ve almost finished using the Becca primer from last month.  I’ll be adding this one into the mix as well!

IMG_1571

beautyblender – blotterazzi

I absolutely LOVE my beautyblender, so I was very excited to see one of their products in my box this month!

Blotterazzi is a blotting sponge that won’t disturb your makeup when removing oil.  I don’t have an overly oily face, but I do need to blot every now and then. I’ll be sticking this little sponge in my purse just for those occasions!

IMG_1576

Too Faced – Soleil Matte Bronzer – Chocolate

I mentioned last month, that I’m not a big fan of bronzers.  I don’t ever use them.  However, I can use powder bronzers as eye shadows, which is what I’m doing with this one.

One thing I absolutely love about this bronzer is the smell! It smells just like hot chocolate!  How yummy is that?! It’s funny to smell chocolate while applying your makeup, but it’s also kind of fun too! 🙂

IMG_1581

I think this drawstring bag is my favorite one to date!  I just love the pink Popsicle!

I’m still not sure what I’m going to do with all these bags!  I better think of something quick though!  I imagine there are quite a few more of them in my future!

IMG_1589

Aside from the funky wave spray and perfume sample, I’m very pleased with this month’s PLAY! box!  I know I’ll get great use out of many of these products!  The ones that I won’t use will be given to a friend of mine who loves trying out new things too!

POPSUGAR Must Have Review: July 2016

Hello everyone!

My POPSUGAR Must Have box has arrived, and I’m quite excited to share it with you!

IMG_1386

The July box is very summery! The watermelons on the info booklet look pretty yummy!

IMG_1501

Keeping with the summer theme, the inside of the booklet is a cheerful bright yellow!

IMG_1504

Box Contents:

  • Sachajuan – Hair in the Sun
  • House of Pom – Emoji Cocktail Napkins
  • Michael Stars – Porcelain Skinny Scarf in White
  • Pintrill – Pineapple Pin
  • Sunnylife – Inflatable Swan Drink Holder
  • European Wax Center – Oh My Brow! Brow Highlighter in Pearl
  • Joe Chips – Classic Sea Salt Retro Potato Chips
  • Trove – Gift Card

IMG_1481

Sachajuan – Hair in the Sun – Retail Value $32

The info booklet says that this product will protect your hair color from UV rays.  Sounds fantastic to me!

I’ll definitely be using this to keep my highlights looking fresh while on my yearly beach trip in August!

IMG_1473

House of Pom – Emoji Cocktail Napkins – Retail Value $25

These napkins are very cute!  At first, I didn’t realize they were napkins because of how nice the fabric and stitching are.  I figured they were coasters.

IMG_1475

Here are all the different emojis. The bee and the cocktail are my favorites!

I don’t think I’d ever use these as napkins.  They’re way too nice!  I think they would be much cuter as framed decorations or something like that.

IMG_1489

Michael Stars – Porcelain Skinny Scarf in White – Retail Value $30

I love this scarf!  The pattern and its size are just too cute!  It’s very skinny and lightweight, which makes it perfect for the summer months!

I haven’t quite figured out what outfit I’m going to wear this with yet, but I’ve got a few ideas!

IMG_1486

Pintrill – Pineapple Pin – Retail Value $12

This little, pineapple pin is ADORABLE!  I have no idea what I’m going to do with it yet, but I want to find somewhere cute to put it!

IMG_1478

Sunnylife – Inflatable Swan Drink Holder – Retail Value $18

I laughed out loud when I saw this in my box! It reminds me a lot of all the funky pool floats that have been all over social media lately!

Just like the hair product above, I’m going to save this for my annual beach trip!  I think my family will get a kick out of it!

IMG_1496

European Wax Center – Oh My Brow! Brow Highlighter in Pearl – Retail Value $19

I didn’t realize that European Wax Center sold beauty products, so I was surprised to see this brow product in my box.

I’ve never tried any brow highlighters like this before, but I do own three or four eye shadow sticks that look just like this.

I’ve used the highlighter several times now, and it’s nice.  I wasn’t blown away by it, but I will be adding it into my rotation.  I’ll probably end up using it more as an eye shadow than a brow highlighter though.

IMG_1492

Joe Chips – Classic Sea Salt Retro Potato Chips – Retail Value $1.49

I was very excited to see these chips in my box.  As I’ve mentioned before, I really look forward to the little snack that POPSUGAR includes each month.

Unfortunately, I was not super impressed with these chips.  They needed a little more salt and seemed a little stale.  The bag was well within its date, so I’m not sure what the problem was there.

I did share a few of the chips with my puppy, Jane Jane, and she enjoyed them quite a bit!  🙂

IMG_1497

Trove – Gift Card – Retail Value $20

I looked on the Trove website and all the jewelry I saw was quite a bit more than $20.  Because of that, I probably won’t be using this gift card, but it was still nice for POPSUGAR to include it!

IMG_1394

The total retail value for the July box is $137.49 (not including the Trove gift card).  That’s pretty good! I will get use out of each of these products at some point in the next few months!

POPSUGAR Must Have Review – October 2015

Hi everyone!

I’m a little late with my October review! Whoopsie!!

IMG_5784Upon opening my box, I saw that POPSUGAR donated to a breast cancer foundation.  That was very nice of them!

IMG_5935Each box comes with a little brochure with information on each product featured for the month.

IMG_5937Box Contents:

  • Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling
  • Savvy Sleepers – Luxury Satin Pillowcase
  • Easy, Tiger – Brown Paper Liquor Bag Set
  • Belgian Boys – De Stroopwafel
  • The Honest Company – Sea Salt + Sugar Body Scrub
  • Richer Poorer – Hope Slipper Socks

Special Extras

  • It’s a 10 – Miracle Leave-in Product
  • Danielle Stevens – Monogram Gift Card

IMG_5924Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling – Retail Value $25

Mindy was pretty funny on The Office, so I’m sure her book will be great too!

I’ve been so busy lately that I haven’t had time to start reading this book!  I’m hoping to find some time during my Thanksgiving or Christmas breaks.

IMG_5929Savvy Sleepers – Luxury Satin Pillowcase – Retail Value $36

I’m a weirdo about some of my pillowcases!  I’ve been using the same one for years. It keeps ripping at the seams and my mom keeps sewing it up for me!

I like my pillowcases super soft and cuddly! I’ve tested out this satin one, and it seems like it will meet my standards perfectly!

IMG_5920Easy, Tiger – Brown Paper Liquor Bag Set – Retail Value $8

I’m not really sure what I’m going to do with these bags.  They are the perfect size for a bottle of wine, but I don’t ever take wine anywhere.

IMG_5922I’ll have to see if any of my friends can get some good use out of these!

IMG_5925Belgian Boys – De Stroopwafel – Retail Value $1.59

My brother, Robert, and my little, Jessica, absolutely love these candies!

Robert brought some back for my family and I to try when he came home from Europe several years ago.  They were pretty yummy!

My friends and I took a trip to New Orleans a few weeks ago and stumbled on some Stroopwafels in Whole Foods.  Jessica was pretty excited and couldn’t resist buying a few!

I had one with my tea last night, and it was delicious!

IMG_5931The Honest Company – Sea Salt + Sugar Body Scrub – Retail Value $17

I have heard some pretty great things about The Honest Company, so I was pumped when I saw this in my box!

It smells great and worked really well on my arms when I tried it out last night in my shower.

IMG_5915Richer Poorer – Hope Slipper Socks – Retail Value $15

I love socks! Especially soft, fuzzy, pink ones!

It’s way too hot in Florida right now to wear fuzzy socks, but I will definitely get some use out of these in the next few months!

IMG_5917It’s a 10 – Miracle Leave-in Product – Retail Value $11.96

I LOVE this conditioner!  I use it every single day after I shower.

I love that it comes in a spray bottle but that the conditioner isn’t watery!

I’ve used this original formula and the formula for blondes!  Both are great!

IMG_5939Danielle Stevens – Monogram Gift Card

I absolutely love monograms!

Unfortunately, I didn’t see anything I needed on the Danielle Stevens website, so I probably won’t be using this coupon.

IMG_5946The October box has a total retail value of $114.55 (not including the gift card).

Most boxes have a higher value than this one, but I won’t complain because I love almost all of the products!
