Felt Ball Coasters

Gather all your felt balls (9-10 per coaster) and your sharpest pair of fabric scissors.

Begin cutting each felt ball in half with your scissors. Some felt balls are more dense than others, so use your sharpest scissors. You may need to make several cuts, which is perfectly fine. For best results, place the felt ball at the back of your scissors’ mouth.

Once you’ve cut all your felt balls in half, grab your coaster base and glue gun.

We’re going to glue the felt balls down in stages to make sure the hot glue doesn’t cool too much in between each placement.

Felt balls are super forgiving to work with, so don’t be afraid to mash them or wiggle them around to make them fit where you want them to go!

Start by adding a squiggle or two of hot glue to your coaster and squishing two felt balls into it. You’ll want to press the sides of your felt balls to compress them and mold them to the edge of the coaster.

Each felt ball will end up looking like a squished pie slice after the glue dries.

Go all the way around the coaster base until you reach where you started. At this point, you’ll likely have glued down 13-14 half balls.

Now, you’re left with a circle in the middle. Again, add a squiggle or two of hot glue and place two felt balls on one side. Then add the last squiggle of glue and squish in the last two ball halves.
