Holiday Freebie: DIY Printable Valentines - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Holiday Freebie: DIY Printable Valentines

Hello, everyone!

I’m coming at y’all today with a very exciting freebie! If you’re a newsletter subscriber, then you’ve already seen these printable valentines! If not, you should sign up for my newsletter so you can get first access to releases like this!

Holiday Freebie: DIY Printable Valentines - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

This week’s adorable freebie features five printable valentines — three with honey bees and two with conversation hearts!

I love all five, but I’m partial to the honey bees! They are just TOO CUTE!!

You can sweeten up your cards by taping a piece of candy on the inside or outside of each valentine! Actual conversation hearts are an acquired taste so I wouldn’t suggest those but they would go quite nicely with the second set of cards! 🙂

Holiday Freebie: DIY Printable Valentines - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

Before I give you the freebie file, there are a few things I’d like to say.  I spent a lot of time designing and creating this printable, so please be kind when you use it.

  • Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes printables are for personal use only
  • You may not re-sell, re-distribute, or claim this work as your own
  • If you post this on the Internet, please give the credit to Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes and link it back to my blog (www.pinkbowstwinkletoes.com)

Enough of the heavy stuff! Now it’s time for the fun! For best results, I recommend printing these cuties on cardstock.

I’m providing you this printable in both a PNG and PDF file format.  I’ve found that the PNG prints richer colors than the PDF.  It’s up to you which file you use though!

To download the PNG file on desktop:

  1. Click on the image above
  2. Click “view full size”
  3. Right click and save image
  4. Open saved file and print
  5. ENJOY!!

If you skip step 2 and don’t click the “view full size” button, the image will save in a much smaller format and will print incorrectly.

You can download the PDF version here, PBTT Printable Valentines.

Don’t forget to tag me in any and all Instagram posts featuring my printables! (@pinkbowstwinkletoes and #pinkbowstwinkletoes)  I would love to see how you’re using them! :)

I’ll be back again soon with more printable fun!

Happy Valentine’s Day Art Print: Free Download

Happy February!

Can you believe that January is already over?! I sure can’t!

Just like last month, I have a holiday themed art print to share with you!  Valentine’s Day is obviously this month, so that’s the theme of this digital print!

I’ve made this print in both a horizontal and a vertical version.  The vertical version is pink watercolor and the horizontal version is red!  They both measure 5×7, but you can always add a 1.5 inch border around each edge to transform the print into an 8×10.

I have three other Valentine’s Day digital art prints in my shop that coordinate perfectly with this one and together create a simple + chic collection.

Check them out!!

Just like with my sticker printables, these art prints are for personal use only.  You may not re-sell, redistribute, or claim these works as your own.

When posting on the internet, please give credit to Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes.  Feel free to tag me (@pinkbowstwinkletoes) on Instagram when posting my printables!  I would love to see how you’re using them!

To download the PNG file:

  1. Click on an image above
  2. Click “view full size”
  3. Right click and save image
  4. Open saved file and print
  5. ENJOY!!

Tribal Kiss Planner Stickers: Free Printable

Hello planner friends!

It’s printable time!!

PBTT Tribal Kiss Digital Without Text

I went with a pastel tribal theme this week!

I had the hardest time coming up with a name for this sheet!  I enlisted the help of a few close friends, and they came up with the “Tribal Kiss” name!  I think the name perfectly melds the arrows with the girly, pastel colors! 🙂

Ipsy Review – February 2015

Hi guys!

It’s time for my monthly Ipsy review! IMG_8413My pretty, pink envelope! IMG_8419The theme for February is “#ipsyLove.”

The pattern of the February makeup bag isn’t my favorite, but I love the shape!  It’s much better than some of the other bags I’ve received. IMG_8423Bag contents:

  • CARGO Cosmetics – Mini Lip Gloss
  • ModelCo – BLUSH Cheek Powder
  • “Pencil Me In” Cosmetics – Natural Eye Liner Pencil
  • Hey Honey – Take It Off! Exfoliating Honey Peel Off Mask
  • Eva NYC – Up All Night Volumizing Spray

IMG_8443CARGO Cosmetics – Mini Lip Gloss – Anguilla

I like the formula of this lip gloss but not the color. The pink is too light and reminds me of a frosted lip! (Yikes!)

The gloss has a very light, fruity scent that I kind of enjoy! IMG_8434ModelCo – BLUSH Cheek Powder – Peach Bellini

I really like the peach color of this blush. The powder is pretty soft and has nice pigmentation.

The only problem with the pigmentation is it’s too pigmented for me.  I have very fair skin and one swipe of powder on my blush brush was too much for me! IMG_8438“Pencil Me In” Cosmetics – Natural Eye Liner Pencil – Amethyst

Do a lot of people wear purple eye liner?  I don’t think so but Ipsy does.  Maybe they know something I don’t!

I don’t wear eyeliner very often and when I do, I don’t wear purple.  I don’t see myself ever using this product. IMG_8442One positive to this product is the attached sharpener! That’s super handy! IMG_8452Hey Honey – Take It Off! Exfoliating Honey Peel Off Mask

I’m not very adventurous when it comes to skincare, and face masks kind of scare me!  Because of that, I won’t be trying this product.

That being said, this mask has a very light and fresh scent! IMG_8425Eva NYC – Up All Night Volumizing Spray

I’m very low maintenance when it comes to my hair, so I don’t use many hair products.  Leave-in conditioner is as exciting as it gets for me!

I love the product label design!  So pretty and sophisticated looking!

I also really like the scent of this spray.  It’s fresh and light just like the mask above! IMG_8450The February bag was mostly a miss for me! 🙁

Did you receive a February Glam Bag?!

What did you think?! Bow signature pink

DIY Hand Embroidery Motif – Sweet Cupcake

Hi guys!

Valentine’s Day is coming up, and I have a cute embroidery project for you! IMG_8058Supplies:

  • Doodle Stitching The Motif Collection by Aimee Ray (Get it here!)
  • Embroidery hoop
  • Embroidery floss
  • Fabric (I used light pink gingham)
  • Needle
  • Pencil
IMG_8066

Design courtesy of Doodle Stitching

The Motif Collection book is FANTASTIC, because it comes with a CD of all the embroidery designs.  It makes it so easy to download the images and print them in any size for your projects! IMG_8013We’re going to start our project by printing out the cupcake and tracing it onto our fabric.

I chose to place my cupcake at a bit of an angle!  It adds a little whimsy!! IMG_8015Now, we’re going to dive right in to the stitching!

This entire project is made with the Back Stitch. IMG_8018This project is super quick and easy to do if you’re in a hurry! IMG_8019I love the heart on our cupcake! It makes the cake so much cuter! IMG_8021The blue icing looks kind of like a fluffy cloud! IMG_8023Feel free to add some French Knot sprinkles or another fun accent! IMG_8025I was going to add sprinkles to my cupcake, but I forgot! I can always go back and add them though! IMG_8026Now comes the words!

I went through a phase where I downloaded a TON of fonts off the internet!

The font I used here is one of them.  This font is called “always forever.”  You can find it here, or you can use your own font!

I chose to place my words at an angle to add some (more) whimsy! IMG_8030Stitch the words!

It’s easier if you use small stitches.  You have more control, and it ends up looking neater and nicer. IMG_8050Once the words are complete, you’re all done!! IMG_8055Isn’t it so fun?!

I love it!

DIY Hand Embroidery – Owl Always Love You

Hi everyone!

I’ve been practicing my hand embroidery, and I have a fun project to show you!

IMG_7561Supplies:

  • Doodle Stitching: Embroidery & Beyond by Aimee Ray (You can find it here!)
  • Embroidery hoop
  • Embroidery floss
  • Needle
  • Fabric (I used muslin from the clearance section)
  • Pencil

IMG_7565DMC floss colors:

  • 498 – Pink
  • 727 – Yellow
  • 798 – Blue
  • 799 – Light Blue
  • 823 – Navy
  • B5200 – White

IMG_7559

This is the design idea I’ll be working off of.

You’ll notice that I chose to do mine differently in some areas!  You should experiment with yours as well and see all the fun designs that you can come up with!

IMG_7453We’re going to start the project by hooping our fabric.

IMG_7458With the blue thread, Back Stitch a wing shape.

If you’re nervous about winging it (no pun intended!), you can draw a wing shape or trace the entire design onto your fabric before you begin stitching.

IMG_7462With our light blue thread, we’re going to begin stitching the head and the ears.

IMG_7467Continue stitching around the wing to form the remainder of the body.

IMG_7470When you get close to the “tail” of the bird, make sure the owl body lines up on the top and the bottom of the wing.

IMG_7475Now we’re going to make little circles for the eyes.

Use tiny stitches to make the circles.  The smaller the stitch, the more control you have over the shape of whatever you’re trying to make!

IMG_7479My second circle turned out WAY better than my first.

That just goes to show that practice makes perfect!

IMG_7492Use the yellow thread to create three, little feathers with the Lazy Daisy stitch.

IMG_7496Add more detail to the wing with three Straight Stitches below the Lazy Daisy feathers.

IMG_7502Continue using the yellow thread to create little V’s along the chest of our bird.

The V’s are made with the Back Stitch.  Almost every stitch in this tutorial is the Back Stitch.

IMG_7504Continue to add the V’s.

Once the V’s are complete, we’re going to move on from the bird.  We will come back to him later and finish up his eyes and beak.

IMG_7505Now, we’re going to start adding teardrop, feather shapes all around our owl.

IMG_7508Each teardrop is made with the Back Stitch.

IMG_7515Be sure to mix up your thread colors and the placement of the teardrops!

IMG_7518If you don’t like what you’ve stitched, use the blunt end of your needle to remove the stitches.  Once the unwanted stitches have been removed, smooth out your fabric (this usually eliminates the needle holes) and stitch it again!

IMG_7519Experiment with the size and shape of your teardrops!

IMG_7522I tried to distribute my thread colors evenly across the piece.

IMG_7526Now that I’m done with the teardrops, I’m going to start adding other accents!

IMG_7528I decided to add some circles and French Knots!

All of my French Knots are double wrapped.

IMG_7533More French Knots!

IMG_7539Now we’re going to go back to our owl!

With the navy thread, use two Back Stitches to create a slightly curved line for the eyes.

Use the pink thread to stitch the beak.  Make the beak with a few Straight Stitches or the Satin Stitch.

IMG_7541Use your pencil to draw out your words.

Be careful about writing too darkly.  If you mess up, it can be hard to erase if the lead is too dark.

Once the words are drawn, use the Back Stitch to complete the project!

IMG_7548Here’s a close-up of my first two words.

IMG_7555Once you finish stitching the words, our project is complete!!

IMG_7849I’m really pleased with how this little guy turned out!

He’s super cute and perfect for a gift! 🙂

Happy Crafting!!!!

A Few Things Friday – Bows!!

Happy Friday everyone!

I absolutely LOOOOOOOOVE bows!! (Thus the name of my blog!)

I don’t want to bore you with a bunch of random bow nonsense, so I’ll keep this short!

I didn’t really get into bows until my freshman year of college.  One day I decided to make one, and I haven’t stopped making them since!

I make the majority of my bows out a ribbon.  I probably have over 300 spools of ribbon! (WOW!!)  Whenever I see a pretty ribbon I just HAVE to buy it!! Ribbon is one of my weaknesses! (Along with Burt’s Bees chapstick!)

Whenever I see bows and bow quotes on Pinterest, I just have to pin them!

ImageI love this quote!  It holds true for a lot of my crafts!! Whenever there is an empty space, I try to fill it with a bow!

Bows just add so much to a project! Don’t you think?!

I found this bow hat on Pinterest the other day, and I think I’m going to have to buy it!  I don’t ever wear hats, but this one is cute enough for me to give the style a try! It comes in pink too, which is super exciting! Pink is my favorite color! (My blog name explained again!)

If you want one of these adorable hats, follow this link!

ImageI found this on Pinterest a while ago, and I think it’s hilarious!! I don’t quite believe what this picture says but it’s funny nonetheless!

I typically wear bows on the back of my head, which according to the picture means I’m not interested in men!

I guess I should start wearing bows on the top of my head to ensure I’m sending out the right message!  The only problem with that is, I don’t have very thick hair so I might look a little ridiculous! Oh well!!

Do you love bows too?! How do you wear your bows?! Do these definitions hold true for you?!
