Watercolor Wednesday – Pineapple Practice!

Advertisements

Hi everyone!

I have some watercolor trial and error paintings to share with you on this Watercolor Wednesday!

I bought a few new watercolor brushes at Michael’s over the weekend, and I couldn’t wait to try them out!

There are a few things I would really like to change about these paintings, but since I’ve only been practicing for a little over a week, I don’t think these are too bad!

I got the idea to paint a pineapple off of Pinterest!

If it weren’t for the one rouge triangle (I’m sure you can guess which one I’m talking about), I would absolutely love this!

I got a little wild and used two different greens for the leaves!  I used a darker blue green and a lighter yellow green.  I think the effect is quite nice! 🙂

The pineapple was pretty easy, so I’ll definitely be trying it again soon!

I love the way these flowers turned out! I’m pretty happy with the “bloom” too!

My paint set didn’t come with a purple, so I mixed a few colors to make my own.

Next time, I’ll use a smaller brush for the stems.  They’re just a little too thick for my liking!  I’ll also make the stems a little longer (or move the bow up a little), so there’s greenery coming out of the bottom of the bow.

All in all, I’m pretty pleased with this week’s paintings!

I’ll be back next week with some more progress!

Happy Crafting!!
