Pink Bow Planner Stickers: Free Printable

Hi everyone!

I have another free, planner printable for you!

This one is pink bow themed!ย  I love pink bows (thus my blog name) and couldn’t resist making a sticker sheet with a bunch of them!

I’ve been trying to make a bow in Adobe Illustrator for months now and have finally succeeded! YAY!! ๐Ÿ™‚

IMG_7870

I’m going to use the majority of these stickers to indicate different blog things I have going on like writing, crafting, taking photos, etc!

I absolutely LOVE the bow checklists!ย  I think they add a little something to the whole sheet! I can’t wait to use them!

Screen Shot 2016-01-18 at 9.37.28 PM

Here’s a closer look at the printable.

The pinks of this sheet will perfectly match the February colors in the vertical Erin Condren LifePlanner.ย  They’d be a perfect addition to your Valentine’s Day spread!

Before I give you the file there are a few things Iโ€™d like to say.ย  I spent a lot of time designing and creating this printable, so please be kind when you use it.

You might be wondering about the way the smaller bows are spaced out a the top of the page.ย  Well, I spaced them out a little to give myself enough room to cut them with a circle punch!

IMG_7876

I don’t have a Silhouette, so punches help me cleanly cut out the more detailed stickers.

IMG_7872

I use a Fiskars paper cutter for most of my stickers.ย  After cutting away the excess, I use scissors to round corners and trim the little things.

To see some more of my printing and cutting tips, check out last week’s printable!

IMG_7878

Here’s a little mock up of how I might use some of these stickers in my EC LifePlanner.

I recently bought a kikki.K personal planner for all my blog scheduling.ย  Most of the stickers on this sheet will fit in my kikki.K as well.ย  The only exception would be the decorative full boxes.

I hope you enjoy this printable!ย  Donโ€™t forget to tag me (@pinkbowstwinkletoes) on Instagram and use the hashtag #pinkbowstwinkletoes when you use these stickers!

Watercolor Wednesday – Pineapple Practice!

Hi everyone!

I have some watercolor trial and error paintings to share with you on this Watercolor Wednesday!

IMG_4078I bought a few new watercolor brushes at Michael’s over the weekend, and I couldn’t wait to try them out!

There are a few things I would really like to change about these paintings, but since I’ve only been practicing for a little over a week, I don’t think these are too bad!

IMG_4085I got the idea to paint a pineapple off of Pinterest!

If it weren’t for the one rouge triangle (I’m sure you can guess which one I’m talking about), I would absolutely love this!

I got a little wild and used two different greens for the leaves!ย  I used a darker blue green and a lighter yellow green.ย  I think the effect is quite nice! ๐Ÿ™‚

The pineapple was pretty easy, so I’ll definitely be trying it again soon!

IMG_4088I love the way these flowers turned out! I’m pretty happy with the “bloom” too!

My paint set didn’t come with a purple, so I mixed a few colors to make my own.

Next time, I’ll use a smaller brush for the stems.ย  They’re just a little too thick for my liking!ย  I’ll also make the stems a little longer (or move the bow up a little), so there’s greenery coming out of the bottom of the bow.

IMG_4075

All in all, I’m pretty pleased with this week’s paintings!

I’ll be back next week with some more progress!

Happy Crafting!!

How To – Carve a Rubber Stamp

Hi everyone!

My cousin gave me a stamp carving kit for Christmas, and I’m finally getting around to using it! IMG_2343IMG_2347Box Contents:

  • Design templates
  • Transfer sheet
  • Pencil
  • Block with carvable rubber sides
  • Wooden handle with five gouges
  • Ink pad

IMG_2349There are lots of fun designs to choose from!

As you might’ve guessed, I love bows, so I chose one of the bows for my first stamp! IMG_2352Lay the transfer paper over your design and trace with a pencil. IMG_2356Flip the transfer sheet (lead side down) onto the rubber block.

Rub your thumb along the transfer sheet.ย  The pressure from your thumb should transfer the lead onto the rubber block. IMG_2359Transfer complete! IMG_2367Load the smallest gouge into the handle.ย  It should just press right in. IMG_2369Use the smallest gouge to (slowly) carve around the design.

If you get going too fast, you might accidentally carve too far into your design. IMG_2373IMG_2375IMG_2378Once you’re a comfortable distance away from your design, start using the large gouges to clear away the excess rubber. IMG_2388IMG_2390IMG_2394Once you’ve trimmed the edges and cleaned it up a bit, your stamp is complete!! IMG_2395Isn’t it adorable?!

I’m in love with my new stamp!

DIY Shabby Chic Hanging Chalkboard Tutorial

Hi everyone!

I’m sure some of you are getting tired of my embroidery tutorials, so I have something else to share with you today!

IMG_0478Supplies:

  • Wooden plaque (I got mine at Jo-Ann Fabrics)
  • Chalkboard paint
  • Burlap ribbon
  • Paintbrush
  • Needle
  • Thread
  • Staple gun
  • Hot glue gun
  • Scotch tape

IMG_0483Start by painting your plaque.

While the paint is drying, we’re going to move on to making the bow.

IMG_0484Without cutting your ribbon, make a loop.

Be sure to leave a long tail.ย  The tail will be used to connect the bow to the chalkboard.

IMG_0488Here’s a closeup of the first loop.

IMG_0492Now, add a second loop.

IMG_0496Add a third loop.

IMG_0500Add a fourth loop.

All of the loops should intersect, and the finished product should look like this.

IMG_0502With your needle and thread, stitch all the loops together.

I like to use two stitches and make a little x/+.

You can cut the ribbon now.ย  Just make sure you leave long tails.

IMG_0505Now take your thread and loop in between the top two loops.

IMG_0512Pull the thread taut to bunch up the ribbon and bring the top loops closer to the center of the bow.

IMG_0515Do the same for the bottom half of the bow.

IMG_0517Pull taut.

IMG_0521Wrap the thread around the bow and stitch through the center a couple of times before tying and cutting off the thread.

IMG_0524Set the bow portion aside.

Cut a 3 or 4 inch piece of ribbon from your spool.

IMG_0527Fold the ribbon in thirds and hot glue together.

I like to only glue a tiny bit of the end portions so that the ribbon doesn’t become stiff in the middle.

IMG_0529Turn your bow upside down (the back should be facing you) and glue one end of the little ribbon in the center.

Have the top side of the little ribbon facing you and glue the bottom side (the side with the seam) down.

IMG_0533Wrap the ribbon around the center of the bow.

IMG_0534Pull taut then glue down.

Once the glue has dried, you can cut the excess ribbon off.

IMG_0539Turn your bow over, and this is what it should look like!

So cute!

My ribbon was wired, so I was able to “fluff” the loops and arrange them how I wanted.

IMG_0541Back to the wooden plaque.

I’m a weirdo about chalkboard paint, so I gave my plaque at least seven coats of paint!

The bottle says you only need two, but I like to cover all my bases!

IMG_0551Once your plaque has dried, turn it over and place your bow upside down on top of the plaque.

IMG_0552Adjust your tails until you have them even and right where you want them.

Once they are in the correct place, use a little scotch tape to tack them down.

IMG_0557Use the staple gun to attach the ribbon to the plaque.

IMG_0559Once the staples are in place, you can cut the excess ribbon.

IMG_0563Turn your plaque over and it’s all ready to use!

IMG_0565I put mine on the back of my front door for reminders and little notes!

I didn’t want the chalkboard banging around when the door opened and closed, so I actually hung it with command strips and used little tiny hook to hold up the bow.

IMG_0567I couldn’t be happier with the way this turned out!

It perfectly matches my shabby chic apartment decor!
