Easy DIY: Velvet Ribbon Bows

Hello, crafters!

It’s been WAY too long since I posted a crafting tutorial for you all! Today is the day that I finally post a brand-new how-to for you! (Wasn’t that a fun rhyme?!) ๐Ÿ™‚

You might’ve already guessed this, but today we will be making ribbon bows! I LOVE bows. They are just darling and can be added to pretty much anything and will up the cute factor by over 1,000%!

Easy DIY: Velvet Ribbon Bows - Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes

A few months back, I got the hankering to make bows and not just any bows. I really wanted to make velvet bows! So, I hopped in the car, went to Hobby Lobby, and picked up three beautiful spools of 7/8 inch velvet ribbon!

If you follow me on Instagram, then you might’ve caught my post and Story from a while back where I talked you through two of my favorite types of bows! (I have a third favorite, but I’m going to save that tutorial for another day!)

DIY Christmas Gift Tags: Free Printable

Merry Christmas everyone!

I have a second free printable to share with you this month! Instead of my usual planner printable, this one is for DIY Christmas gift tags!

pbtt-diy-christmas-gift-tags

As you can see, the printable includes a variety of both horizontal and vertical tags.ย  I used some of the patterns from my Christmas and winter printables for these tags along with some newer patterns!

img_5591

You can use this printable two ways!ย  You can print the tags on card stock, cut them out, and tie them to your packages with ribbon and twine. You can also print these on sticker paper, cut them out, and then adhere them directly to your presents! ๐Ÿ™‚

If you want the tags larger or smaller than I’ve designed them, simply print the file at 80%, 125%, etc. until they’re the size you want!

Before I give you the printable file, there are a few things Iโ€™d like to say.ย  I spent a lot of time designing and creating this printable, so please be kind when you use it.

  • Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes printables are for personal use only
  • You may not re-sell, redistribute, or claim this work as your own
  • If you post this on the internet, please give the credit to Pink Bows & Twinkle Toes and link it back to my blog (pinkbowstwinkletoes.com)

Enough of the heavy stuff! Now itโ€™s time for the gift tags!

You can download the printable file here, PBTT Printable Gift Tags.

Be sure to tag me in any and all Instagram posts featuring my printable and your pretty presents! (@pinkbowstwinkletoes and #pinkbowstwinkletoes)ย  :)

Merry Christmas and Happy Gifting!

DIY Brush Calligraphy Gift Tags

Hi everyone!

I have a super quick and easy Christmas (or any holiday) craft for you!

I was wrapping some Christmas presents in my college apartment a few days ago when I realized that I didn’t have any gift tags! Uh oh!ย  I quickly realized that I could easily make some tags out of sticker paper and brush pens!

IMG_7132

Supplies:

  • Avery sticker paper
  • Colored pens or markers
  • Scissors

IMG_7133

I’ll be using Tombow Dual Brush Pens but Crayola markers will work as well!

Green: 277

Red: 847

There are only three steps to this little craft.

  1. Write/Draw your desired names
  2. Cut out the names
  3. Stick them on your packages

Here’s a video of me demonstrating my brush lettering technique.

To achieve lettering like mine, all you have to do is apply pressure on the down stroke and release the pressure on the up stroke.ย  Sounds easy doesn’t it?ย  The steps are easy, but it takes a little bit of practice!ย  Definitely test out your writing on some printer paper before your start writing on the sticker paper!

For more tips, check out Pieces Calligraphy!ย  I follow her on Instagram, and she is fantastic!

IMG_7114

Here’s the name I wrote in the video above.

The sticker paper absorbs the ink a little differently than sketchbook paper, so some of the edges are a little choppy.ย  I like to go back and smooth out a few of the edges.

IMG_7117

Now we cut!

I like to cut in a wavy pattern and conform to the edges of the name.

IMG_7138

All of the tags I’ve made so far have been for girls, so I’ve dotted every “i” and “j” with a heart.ย  The hearts add even more cuteness to the tags!

IMG_7140

Time to peel and stick!

IMG_7143

I’ve been placing my tags on the backs of my packages, but they’d also look quite nice on the front!

IMG_7142

Here are the fronts of a few of my very pretty packages!

A few more pretty tags!

I absolutely love how these gift tags turned out!

They were so quick to make and look fantastic!

Happy Crafting and Merry Christmas!

Stamp Spotlight: Monogram

Hi everyone!

I’ve recently acquired a few really pretty stamps that I want to share with you!

IMG_6867

In the last few months, I’ve received both of these beautiful stamps as gifts!

The full monogram, rubber stamp is from my Aunt and Uncle.ย  They bought it for me for my birthday.ย  I can’t tell you how excited I was when I opened it!ย  I LOVE my monogram, and I love stamps.ย  The two together? Perfection!

If you’d like a full monogram, rubber stamp like mine, you can get one on Etsy right here.

The wooden, initial “N” stamp is from my friend, Kylie.ย  She bought it for me while studying abroad in London.ย  It’s amazing how detailed this stamp is!ย  So pretty!

IMG_6883

Here’s a little sample of my stamping skills! ๐Ÿ™‚

As you can see, I had a little bit of trouble with the wooden stamp.ย  The rubber is much easier to work with because it gives a little when you press down.ย  The wood doesn’t give, so it’s harder to stamp each and every detail.

With some practice, I know I’ll perfect the wooden stamp!

IMG_6886

Here’s a little bit more of my full monogram!

I’m going to have to start writing some letters, so I can get some use out of my stamp!ย  I’m also thinking about personalizing some stationary!

I’ll be sure to let you know about any upcoming stamping projects!

Do you love stamps too?

Where are your favorite stamps from?!
