POPSUGAR Must Have Review: November 2016

Hello everyone!

My POPSUGAR Must Have box has arrived, and I’m super excited about it!

To receive a fun box of surprise goodies each month, click here!

I try my best to avoid all the spoilers for POPSUGAR each month! I really want my box to be a complete surprise, so I don’t follow POPSUGAR Must Have on social media.  I also don’t look at subscription boxes on Instagram until after mine has arrived.  Unfortunately, I did accidentally stumble upon a spoiler for this box about a week before it arrived! 🙁

I LOVED the spoiler that I saw, so I was rather impatient after that for my box to finally arrive!  Although I did end up enjoying the spoiler, I’m still going to try my best to avoid all the spoilers for the December box!

I want to apologize really quickly for the lighting in all these photos.  I took all the photos at the same time, but the sun seems to have been working against me! 🙁

Box Contents:

  • Kendra Scott – Elaina Rose Gold Bracelet in White Pearl
  • Pehr – Chambray Runner Wine
  • Stowaway Cosmetics – Dawn to Dusk Palette
  • AJ Goods – Nest Wire Basket
  • Meri Meri – Star Party Picks
  • Oogie’s Snacks – Oogie’s Gourmet Toffee Butter Popcorn

Kendra Scott – Elaina Rose Gold Bracelet in White Pearl – Retail Value $50

I love Love LOVE Kendra Scott jewelry!  I have quite the collection and wear something KS almost every day! This will be my fourth toggle style bracelet of hers.  Yes, I really do have a large collection.  My friends think I’m a tad crazy! 🙂

This was the spoiler I accidentally stumbled upon!  As you can imagine, I was super duper excited when I saw it on Instagram and even more excited when I got my box and had it in my hands!

I’ve been waiting for POPSUGAR to feature another Kendra Scott product for years!  I’m so happy that it finally happened!!

Pehr – Chambray Runner Wine – Retail Value $44

I love the design of this table runner!  The colors and pattern are simple and quite attractive.

I think it would be perfect for a Thanksgiving tablescape!

I love that there is wine colored fringe on the ends of the runner!  That adds a nice, little touch to it!

Stowaway Cosmetics – Dawn to Dusk Palette – Retail Value $25

Eye shadow palettes are always fun in subscription boxes!  I use the Pixi palette from the March box several times a week!

This Stowaway palette has some fantastic, versatile shadows in it that I know I’ll get a lot of use out of. The four shadows on the left are my favorites! I’m not sure I’ll get use out of the navy shadow, but I know I will use all the others!

AJ Goods – Nest Wire Basket – Retail Value $35

This bowl would go really well with the table runner above.  Throw some fruit in there and you’ve got a pretty center piece!

This bowl would also be excellent for holding some of my extensive washi tape collection! 🙂

Meri Meri – Star Party Picks – Retail Value $8

These party picks would have been PERFECT for my friend’s bachelorette party last week!  If only my box had arrived sooner! Oh well!

I think I’ll save these for a birthday party or perhaps New Year’s Eve!

Oogie’s Snacks – Oogie’s Gourmet Toffee Butter Popcorn – Retail Value $2.99

Just like usual, this month’s snack is delicious!

How fun would it be to pick out the snack for each month’s POPSUGAR box?! I would have a ton of fun doing that job! 🙂

The total retail value of this month’s box is $164.99.  That’s fantastic!

Honestly, if all this box had it in was the bracelet, it still would’ve totally been worth it to me! That being said, I am still really excited about all the other products! After I get done writing this post, I’m going to eat some more of that yummy popcorn!

Do you subscribe to POPSUGAR Must Have?!

What do you think of the November box?

Julep Maven Secret Surprise Review

Hi everyone!

In my last Mystery Box review, I said that I was going to take a break from buying mystery boxes for a while.  Well guess what?! I just couldn’t resist when another mystery opportunity came along! I’m so weak!!

In this month’s Secret Store, Julep was offering three different Secret Surprises.

ImageEach surprise was $14.99 and came with $42.00 worth of product!

I was tempted by both Secret Surprise #2 and #3!  I managed to use some restraint and only buy one of them.

ImageI really liked the way they described Secret Surprise #2, so I went with that one!

Let’s get to the box!

ImageYou may not be able to tell from the picture above, but this box is quite a bit smaller than normal!

ImageTo give you some perspective on box size, I put my Secret Surprise box on top of one of my regular monthly boxes.

ImageThis box came with three polishes and a pack of forget-me-not seeds.

Bea – Bombshell – Lemonade crème

Marjorie – It Girl – Citrus orange frost

Francis – Boho Glam – Celery green crème

I love Bea! The light yellow color is perfect for spring!  I’m very fair skinned, so I’m not quite sure how Bea will look with my skin tone.  If all else fails, I will definitely use Bea to make polka dots or something.

I’m not in love with this color, but I’m sure I’ll get some use out of it during football season! Go Gators!!

I don’t like Francis at all! I don’t believe this shade of green would be flattering on anyone, especially me.  It’s not a color I can ever see myself wearing.

I’m not quite sure why Julep described this box as “fresh” and “flowery.”  I think Bea worked with the description they gave but Marjorie and Francis did not.

I was really hoping to get a pink polish in this box, and I’m a little sad that I didn’t.  Oh well though!

I’m sure I’ll get more pink polish soon!! Not that I need it!!

Nail of the Day!

Hi everybody!!

I’ve gotten a ton of great colors in my recent Julep Maven boxes, so I decided to experiment with different polish techniques!

I tried this style last week.

ImageIt’s not a super exciting style, but it’s more than I usually do.

I don’t typically do an accent nail, but I’ve decided to go for it recently!

I created this look with Shenae and Tania.

ImageShenae – Pastel mint green opalescent shimmer

Tania – Multidimensional mermaid teal glitter

Shenae is from my Lucky Mystery Box, and Tania is from my March Maven box.

I was originally going for this look.

I glopped on too much glitter though, so I decided to make it an accent nail instead of taking all my polish off and starting over.

I really need to work on my glitter techniques.  I always seem to apply WAY too much!

Do you have glitter problems too?!  I can’t be alone in my glitter struggle!!

Julep Maven – Lucky Mystery Box

Hi everyone!!

I recently received my Julep Maven Lucky Mystery Box.

Julep offers mystery boxes several times a year, that feature various Julep polishes and products.

This St. Patrick’s Day, they offered the Lucky Mystery Box.  The boxes were $24.99 and came with over $100 worth of products!

There were four boxes to choose from, three of them featured a different green specialty polish and one was 100% mystery.

I love surprises, so I chose the 100% mystery box!

ImageMy mystery box came with eight polishes! WOW!!

ImagePolishes from left to right:

  • Ursula – Bombshell – Blackest black crème crackle
  • Missy – It girl – Titanium metallic
  • Reece – It girl – Deep purple holographic shimmer
  • Audrey – Classic with a twist – Light pink microglitter
  • Jodie – Classic with a twist – Rosy mauve with gold shimmer
  • Diane – It girl – Dark forest green crème
  • Shenae – It girl – Pastel mint green opalescent shimmer
  • Olivia – Classic with a twist – Dark chocolate truffle crème

I love surprises so much that I couldn’t resist the Major Mystery Add-On!

My add-on came with four additional polishes, a mini Freedom Polymer Top Coat, and forget-me-not seeds.

ImagePolishes in the add-on:

  • Nicolette – Bombshell – Opaque French white
  • Alaina – Classic with a twist – Driftwood taupe crème
  • Ingrid – Boho glam – Burnt orange crème
  • Adele – Bombshell – Golden reflective top coat

ImageI’m pretty happy with the contents of my mystery box.  Several of the colors are pretty dark and won’t get used until the fall, but I’m still glad I received them.

Although I’m pleased with my mystery box, I do wish I’d have gotten some products besides just nail polish.  I like the variety of my monthly boxes and the Cupid Mystery Box I bought in February.

I’ve bought the last two mystery boxes that Julep has offered, so I’m going to try to resist buying the next one! When I get their email though, I don’t know if I’ll be able to control myself!

I’m planning on experimenting with Shanae and Tania (from my March box) tonight!  I’ll let you know how it goes!
