Goldfaden MD – Fresh A Peel Multi Acid Resurfacing Peel – Retail Value $85

I received a small face peel sample in my PLAY! by Sephora box a few months back and really liked it.  Because of that, I was pretty pleased to see this product in my box this month.

Unlike the peel from Sephora, I can’t feel the dead skin balling up on my skin when I use this peel.  I know that sounds gross, but when I can feel the balls of skin, I know that the peel is working!

Although I can’t feel my skin peeling, I’m still holding out hope that I will enjoy this product.  Maybe I’ll feel/see some results after a few more uses.

May Designs – Desk Calendar & Notecard Set – Retail Value $25

Those of you that follow me on Instagram (@pinkbowstwinkletoes) know how much I love May Designs!  So you can probably guess how excited I was to see this calendar in my box!

I was excited for two different reasons.  The first reason was because May Designs is one of my favorite stationery brands!  The second reason is that my mom has had her eye on this calendar for a while now!  I knew the second I saw what it was that I would be gifting it to her!

She was so excited to receive the calendar and already has it set up on her desk!

A fun feature of this calendar is that each month card turns into a note card when the month is over!  Simply cut along a line printed on the back, and there you go!  Functional and cute! That’s a win-win in my book! 🙂

Daily Concepts – Your Hair Wrap Towel – Retail Value $18

I’ve seen tons of hair wraps like this over the years but have never tried one out.  I wrap my hair in a towel for about a minute maybe two after my shower while I put my pajamas on.

Since I only wrap my hair for short periods, this isn’t the ideal product for me.  It’s fun to experiment with though!  Maybe now that I have one of these, I’ll wrap my hair for longer periods of time.  We will see!

img_7524

Manduka – eQua Mat Towel in Playa – Retail Value $38

Although I wish I did, I do not currently do yoga.  I have in the past and plan to again in the future though!

In the meantime, I think I’ll just be using this as a regular towel.  It’s very soft and appears to be quite absorbent!

img_7516

Sourcebooks, Inc. – Instant Happy Notes – Retail Value $8.99

This is another product that I gave to my mom this month.  Man, she is making out like a bandit isn’t she?! 🙂

My mom loves leaving little notes for people, so these happy, sticky notes are just perfect for her!

Here are some examples of the notes inside.

Super cute, huh?! 🙂

img_7521

Dean & Deluca – Peppermint Loose Leaf Tea – Retail Value $10.75

I love drinking tea, so I was very excited that I saw loose-leaf tea was the snack item included in this month’s box!

This tea is very pepperminty and the perfect afternoon pick-me-up.  I’ve already enjoyed several cups and will enjoy many more in the future!

When I opened the tin, I was pleased to see how much tea was packed inside.  I think I’ll be making cups from this tin for months and months to come!

img_7520

Glade – N°3 Free – Coconut and Beach Woods Candle – Retail Value $4.99

My last few years of college I became quite the candle fanatic.  I loved having one lit in my apartment!

Although I do love coconut, I’m not a huge fan of coconut scented items.  That’s okay though.  I have quite a few candle-loving friends that I sure would be willing to take this off my hands!

img_7513

The total retail value for this moth’s box is $190.73.  That’s the highest it’s been in a long time!

While this month wasn’t my absolute favorite, there were still some amazing items in this box!

POPSUGAR Must Have Review: November 2016

Hello everyone!

My POPSUGAR Must Have box has arrived, and I’m super excited about it!

To receive a fun box of surprise goodies each month, click here!

I try my best to avoid all the spoilers for POPSUGAR each month! I really want my box to be a complete surprise, so I don’t follow POPSUGAR Must Have on social media.  I also don’t look at subscription boxes on Instagram until after mine has arrived.  Unfortunately, I did accidentally stumble upon a spoiler for this box about a week before it arrived! 🙁

I LOVED the spoiler that I saw, so I was rather impatient after that for my box to finally arrive!  Although I did end up enjoying the spoiler, I’m still going to try my best to avoid all the spoilers for the December box!

I want to apologize really quickly for the lighting in all these photos.  I took all the photos at the same time, but the sun seems to have been working against me! 🙁

  • Kendra Scott – Elaina Rose Gold Bracelet in White Pearl
  • Pehr – Chambray Runner Wine
  • Stowaway Cosmetics – Dawn to Dusk Palette
  • AJ Goods – Nest Wire Basket

Kendra Scott – Elaina Rose Gold Bracelet in White Pearl – Retail Value $50

I love Love LOVE Kendra Scott jewelry!  I have quite the collection and wear something KS almost every day! This will be my fourth toggle style bracelet of hers.  Yes, I really do have a large collection.  My friends think I’m a tad crazy! 🙂

This was the spoiler I accidentally stumbled upon!  As you can imagine, I was super duper excited when I saw it on Instagram and even more excited when I got my box and had it in my hands!

I’ve been waiting for POPSUGAR to feature another Kendra Scott product for years!  I’m so happy that it finally happened!!

img_4809

Pehr – Chambray Runner Wine – Retail Value $44

I love the design of this table runner!  The colors and pattern are simple and quite attractive.

I think it would be perfect for a Thanksgiving tablescape!

img_4814

I love that there is wine colored fringe on the ends of the runner!  That adds a nice, little touch to it!

img_4796

Stowaway Cosmetics – Dawn to Dusk Palette – Retail Value $25

Eye shadow palettes are always fun in subscription boxes!  I use the Pixi palette from the March box several times a week!

This Stowaway palette has some fantastic, versatile shadows in it that I know I’ll get a lot of use out of. The four shadows on the left are my favorites! I’m not sure I’ll get use out of the navy shadow, but I know I will use all the others!

img_4837

AJ Goods – Nest Wire Basket – Retail Value $35

This bowl would go really well with the table runner above.  Throw some fruit in there and you’ve got a pretty center piece!

This bowl would also be excellent for holding some of my extensive washi tape collection! 🙂

img_4789

Meri Meri – Star Party Picks – Retail Value $8

These party picks would have been PERFECT for my friend’s bachelorette party last week!  If only my box had arrived sooner! Oh well!

I think I’ll save these for a birthday party or perhaps New Year’s Eve!

img_4786

Oogie’s Snacks – Oogie’s Gourmet Toffee Butter Popcorn – Retail Value $2.99

Just like usual, this month’s snack is delicious!

How fun would it be to pick out the snack for each month’s POPSUGAR box?! I would have a ton of fun doing that job! 🙂

img_4850

The total retail value of this month’s box is $164.99.  That’s fantastic!

Honestly, if all this box had it in was the bracelet, it still would’ve totally been worth it to me! That being said, I am still really excited about all the other products! After I get done writing this post, I’m going to eat some more of that yummy popcorn!

Box Contents:

  • Henri Bendel – Packable Umbrella
  • Lalicious – Brown Sugar Vanilla Shower Oil and Bubble Bath
  • My Cup of Cocoa – Dark Drinking Chocolate
  • Morning Culture – Rise & Shine Diner Mug
  • Makeup Eraser – The Makeup Eraser Mini!
  • Power Your Happy by Lisa Sugar
  • Revlon – ColorStay Liquid Eye Pen

Henri Bendel – Packable Umbrella – Retail Value $58

I was so excited when I saw POPSUGAR’s sneak peek of this item earlier in the month! I received an umbrella from POPSUGAR last year and absolutely love it!  It’s my go-to umbrella on rainy days!  I’m sure I’ll be getting a lot of use out of this umbrella too!

I love the chocolate brown and white stripes with the raspberry accents.  So pretty!

img_3956

Lalicious – Brown Sugar Vanilla Shower Oil and Bubble Bath – Retail Value $28

I always enjoy receiving body wash in my subscription boxes.  I’ve gotten so many in the past that it’ll be a while before I have to go out and buy any myself!

My only complaint about this product is the scent.  I know vanilla is a standard scent that the majority of people enjoy, however, I am not one of them.  I’ll most likely end up giving this product to a friend who will enjoy it more than me.

img_3971

My Cup of Cocoa – Dark Drinking Chocolate – Retail Value $4.99

As you know, I always look forward to the edible item that POPSUGAR includes every month.  This drinking chocolate did not disappoint!

The chocolate powder mixes with milk to create a deliciously creamy treat! 🙂

img_3981

Morning Culture – Rise & Shine Diner Mug – Retail Value $16

These days I’m a huge fan of mugs and trinket dishes to hold all of my pens and planner supplies!

I’m sure I’ll drink something (perhaps the drinking chocolate?) out of this mug at some point, but right now, it’s sitting on my dresser holding several pairs of scissors!

img_3959

Makeup Eraser – The Makeup Eraser Mini! – Retail Value $12

A good friend of mine has a Makeup Eraser and absolutely loves it!  After her rave reviews, I was very excited to give this little guy a try.

I’ve used it a few times now, and it’s been working really well.  The cloth is very soft and more gentle on my skin than the typical makeup remover wipe!

img_3953

Power Your Happy by Lisa Sugar – Retail Value $25

Motivational books aren’t typically my style, but I’m enjoying this one so far!

I’m going to keep Power Your Happy by my bedside and read a little bit each night.  I’m sure I’ll be finished with it in no time!

img_3962

Revlon – ColorStay Liquid Eye Pen – Retail Value $8.99

If you’ve read my last couple of subscription box review posts, you know by now that eyeliner and I aren’t the best of friends.  This is another product that I’ll be giving away to a better home!

One neat thing I’ll mention about the eyeliner is that its felt tip is designed in a way that provides you with three different line thicknesses.  You can see a little sample of the thicknesses on the packaging above. If I was an eyeliner user, I think I’d find that feature pretty handy!

img_3996

The total retail value for the October box is $152.98.  That’s not too shabby!

I’m very pleased with five of the seven items included this month! And I’m sure my friends will be very pleased by the two items that I’ve chosen to give away!

Julep Maven – Lucky Mystery Box

Hi everyone!!

I recently received my Julep Maven Lucky Mystery Box.

Julep offers mystery boxes several times a year, that feature various Julep polishes and products.

This St. Patrick’s Day, they offered the Lucky Mystery Box.  The boxes were $24.99 and came with over $100 worth of products!

There were four boxes to choose from, three of them featured a different green specialty polish and one was 100% mystery.

I love surprises, so I chose the 100% mystery box!

ImageMy mystery box came with eight polishes! WOW!!

ImagePolishes from left to right:

  • Ursula – Bombshell – Blackest black crème crackle
  • Missy – It girl – Titanium metallic
  • Reece – It girl – Deep purple holographic shimmer
  • Audrey – Classic with a twist – Light pink microglitter
  • Jodie – Classic with a twist – Rosy mauve with gold shimmer
  • Diane – It girl – Dark forest green crème
  • Shenae – It girl – Pastel mint green opalescent shimmer
  • Olivia – Classic with a twist – Dark chocolate truffle crème

I love surprises so much that I couldn’t resist the Major Mystery Add-On!

My add-on came with four additional polishes, a mini Freedom Polymer Top Coat, and forget-me-not seeds.

ImagePolishes in the add-on:

  • Nicolette – Bombshell – Opaque French white
  • Alaina – Classic with a twist – Driftwood taupe crème
  • Ingrid – Boho glam – Burnt orange crème
  • Adele – Bombshell – Golden reflective top coat

ImageI’m pretty happy with the contents of my mystery box.  Several of the colors are pretty dark and won’t get used until the fall, but I’m still glad I received them.

Although I’m pleased with my mystery box, I do wish I’d have gotten some products besides just nail polish.  I like the variety of my monthly boxes and the Cupid Mystery Box I bought in February.

I’ve bought the last two mystery boxes that Julep has offered, so I’m going to try to resist buying the next one! When I get their email though, I don’t know if I’ll be able to control myself!

I’m planning on experimenting with Shanae and Tania (from my March box) tonight!  I’ll let you know how it goes!
