PLAY! by Sephora Review – May 2016

Hi everyone!

I’m so excited to share my first PLAY! box with you!  I’ve been wanting this box for months and finally got my hands on it!!

I love the striped packaging!  It’s so fun!

Each box comes with a PLAY! BOOK and a PLAY!PASS that is good for a free one-on-one tutorial and 50 extra Beauty Insider points with any purchase!  How awesome is that?!

When the booklet is completely unfolded, there are details, tips, and tricks on each product featured in the box.

I love how there’s a little drawing of each product instead of a photo!  So cute!!

The theme for the May box is ” The Forces of Nature.”

Box Contents:

  • Atelier Cologne – Orange Sanguine
  • Korres – Wild Rose Sleeping Facial
  • Tarte – Lip Crayon – Latergram
  • Briogeo – Don’t Despair, Repair! – Deep Conditioning Mask
  • Bite Beauty – Amuse Bouche Lipstick – Kimchi
  • Origins – Maskimizer + Drink Up & Clear Improvement Masks
  • Drawstring goodie bag

Atelier Cologne – Orange Sanguine

I’m very particular when it comes to perfumes and scents, so I don’t ever wear them.  However, I love citrus and like how this cologne smells!  I’m very surprised that I actually like the scent!

I’m going to go way outside my comfort zone and wear this cologne one day to see how I like the scent when it’s actually on me!

Korres – Wild Rose Sleeping Facial

I’ve been replacing my nightly moisturizer with this product for several days now, and I really like it!  The rose scent is pretty light and my face looks great after I use it!

My friend, Lindsey, really enjoys this product as well!  She purchased the full-size a little while ago, so I know she’s looking forward to receiving this travel size in her PLAY! box!

Tarte – Tarteist Lip Crayon – Latergram

I love Tarte products, but I haven’t had a chance to try any of the products from their Tarteist line yet. So I was very excited to see this lip liner in my box!

The color is a very neutral mauve, and I think I will get lots of use out of it!  I actually own a lipstick from Bite Beauty that matches it perfectly.  The lipstick color is called “Latte.”

Briogeo – Don’t Despair, Repair! – Deep Conditioning Mask

I’ve never used a hair mask before, so I was quite intrigued by this product!  I used it in the shower last night, but I really didn’t notice any difference in my hair.  However, my mom did compliment my hair today and said it looked very pretty, so I do believe it did something!  I’m going to try it again soon, and then maybe I’ll notice a difference myself!

I’m not exactly sure what the scent of this mask is, but I really like it!  Before I had a chance to smell it, a friend of mine told me that she thought it smelled bad.  Thankfully, I disagree with her! 🙂

Bite Beauty – Amuse Bouche Lipstick – Kimchi

As I mentioned earlier in this post, I own quite a few Bite Beauty lipsticks and absolutely love them!  As you can imagine, I was very excited to see one of their mini lipsticks in this box!

The color of the lipstick is Kimchi and is described on the Sephora website as a “Shocking Pink.”  I definitely agree with that description.  This pink is very bright!

I’m sure plenty of girls can pull off this color, unfortunately though, I don’t think I’m one of them! 🙁

Origins – Maskimizer + Drink Up & Clear Improvement Masks

I don’t do face masks very often, but I like the idea of a mask primer!

Along with the mask primer, this little packet comes with two different masks. One mask cleans out pores and the other is hydrating.

I have sensitive skin and am very worried about irritation.  I’ve already changed my skincare routine by adding in the Korres sleeping facial, so I am going to wait a few days before giving these masks and this primer a try!

Lastly, we have the drawstring bag that all of these goodies came in!

This is such an adorable bag with a fantastic design!  I love little bags, so I hope Sephora gives out a few more bags like this in the coming months!

I’m not sure what I’ll be keeping in my little goodie bag yet, but I’ll definitely be using it!

I’m so happy with my very first PLAY! by Sephora subscription box!

I will certainly be using most of these products, and I can’t wait to see what comes in next month’s box!

Do you subscribe to PLAY! by Sephora?!

IMG_8775March features “The POP! Collection”

There were a lot of pretty, pastel polishes this month! IMG_8785Light On Your Lips Lipstick – Stepping Out – Carnation Pink

I love the formula of this lipstick!  It’s very smooth and creamy! IMG_8795I love the pink color of the lipstick I chose, but it’s a little too pink for everyday wear!

I might wear it when I’m feeling bold, but that doesn’t happen too often!

I like the formula so much though that I’m thinking of buying this lipstick in another color! IMG_8788Get In Line Invisible Lip Liner

I have a really hard time getting lipstick to stay on my lips, so I decided to add this product to by box this month!

I prefer my lip liners to be clear, so this one is perfect for me!

I’ve used it once so far, and I really like it!

IMG_8778Jahnavi – Classic with a Twist – Iced Chai Chrome

This light metallic polish is beautiful!  The gold is very subtle, so I think it’ll be a nice neutral!

I used it last night, and I love the effect!  It’s way more metallic than I expected!

LuLu – Wisteria Mist Soft Focus (semi-matte)

I’m excited to try out the Soft Focus finish that this polish features.  I believe the Soft Focus finish is a brand new addition to Julep’s product line!

There were three different Soft Focus polishes featured this month.  One is pale mint, the other is pale peach, and the third is the pale purple that I received.  I think I would’ve gotten more use out of one of the other colors.  I’m a little worried that this purple will be too light for my skin tone.

I haven’t tried it yet though, so when I do, I’ll report back! IMG_8789Lastly, we have our coupon and quote!

Like usual, the coupon is good for two uses and expires March 31, 2015.

I think I’m actually going to use my coupon this month and buy a different shade of the Light On You Lips Lipstick.

Did you receive the March Maven box?
