Ipsy Review – October 2014

Hi everyone!

It’s time for my monthly Ipsy review!

DSCN3376Do you want to be an Ipsy subscriber?! Click here!!

DSCN3384I was rather disappointed in Ipsy this month.  There were very few brands that I’d even heard of being offered for October.

One of my favorite things to do is stalk Facebook at the beginning of the month to see the sneak peeks.  All of the sneak peeks for October made me sad.

I’m also not a huge fan of the makeup bag this month.  I like the color, but the material is very cheap.

  • Épicé International – Purifying Exfoliant
  • Figs & Rouge – Hand Cream
  • Jesse’s Girl – Mineralized Baked Shadow Powder
  • Starlooks – Lip Gloss
  • ECRU New York – Acacia Protein BB Cream – Beauty Balm for Hair

DSCN3388The October theme is “Beauty Candy.”  I’m not sure what classified these products as candy though.

DSCN3390Épicé International – Purifying Exfoliant

I’m a very loyal product user and I already have a daily exfoliant.  I probably won’t be trying this product.  I will see if one of my friends want it though!

DSCN3407Figs & Rouge – Hand Cream – Mango Mandarin

I absolutely love this colorful packaging!  It’s so fun and pretty!

The Mango Mandarin scent is okay.  The smell is very familiar, but I just can’t place it!

Out of the five products I received this month, this hand cream is my favorite.

DSCN3397Jesse’s Girl – Mineralized Baked Shadow Powder – Graphite Frost

I love eyeshadow, but I am not a huge fan of this color.

I prefer golds and browns and this one is a silvery gray.  It’s a step up from the purple shadow I got last month though!

DSCN3405Starlooks – Lip Gloss – Guilty Pleasure

This gloss reminds me of the NYX Butter Gloss I received in my first Ipsy bag over the summer.  Except the NYX gloss was larger and I liked it better.

DSCN3413ECRU New York – Acacia Protein BB Cream – Beauty Balm for Hair

Before getting this product, I didn’t realize that there was such a things as BB cream for hair.

The box says it’s a styling lotion.  I don’t ever do anything with my hair, so I don’t think I’ll be getting much use out of this product either.

DSCN3418All in all, I’m pretty disappointed with my October Ipsy bag.

I’ve seen a promising sneak peek for November, so let’s hope that pans out!

How did you like your October Ipsy?!

Ipsy Review – September 2014

Hi everyone!!

It’s time for my monthly Ipsy review!!

DSCN3157If you’re not an Ipsy subscriber and want to be, click here!

DSCN3161The September theme is “Street Style.”

I’m not liking the September theme or makeup bag at all!

If you know me at all, you’d know that “Street” is most certainly NOT my style!

DSCN3166This month’s bag featured five products!

  • NYX – Hot Singles Eye Shadow
  • Pacifica – Natural Water-Proof Eye Pencil
  • Crown Brush – Infinity Shadow/Crease Duet Brush
  • Hikari – Lipstick
  • Briogeo – Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask

DSCN3192NYX – Hot Singles Eye Shadow – Arrogance

I love eyeshadow, but I don’t ever see myself using this purple color! There were 11 possible color options, and I lucked out with purple! Yay me!!

DSCN3188Pacifica – Natural Water-Proof Eye Pencil – Fringe

I’ve never tried the Pacifica brand, so I’m interested to see how well it works!

It seems to create to a nice line but also smears quite easily.

DSCN3179Crown Brush – Infinity Shadow/Crease Duet Brush

I’ve been wanting a crease brush, so I was really excited to see one in my bag this month!

I used it this morning, and it worked really well!

DSCN3176Hikari – Lipstick – Cabernet

I really like the color of this lipstick, but I don’t really like the formula.

When I tried it on, it seemed pretty dry even with lip balm underneath.

DSCN3170Briogeo – Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask

I don’t have much use for a repairing hair mask, so this product will probably be given to a friend!

DSCN3197For me, September was mostly a month of misses!

The only product I love is the eyeshadow brush.  The eyeliner isn’t horrible, but it’s also not fantastic.

I’m hoping October brings much better things than September!

How about you? What did you think of your September Ipsy bag?!

Ipsy Review – July 2014

Hi guys!!

I received my July Ipsy bag today, and I can’t wait to share it with you!

DSCN2680For those of you that don’t know, Ipsy is a subscription service that sends you 4-5 deluxe sample and full size beauty products each month!  It’s only $10 a month and tons of fun!

If you’re interested, you can sign up here!

DSCN2686I absolutely love the color and style of this month’s bag!! Scallops are my favorite and pink is one of my go-to colors!!

The July bag isn’t as good of quality as the June bag, but it is still very cute!!

DSCN2693“Sensationally Sun Kissed” is the theme for July!

This Ipsy card looks quite similar to the Julep theme card for July!

Both chose bright blue and yellow for their color schemes!  Perfect colors for summer!

DSCN2746My July bag came with five products! Two of them are full size! YAY!!!

July Products:

  • Pūr-lisse – Pūr-protect Essential Daily Moisturizer – SPF 30
  • Clear Clinic Laboratories – Vanished Clear Spot Treatment
  • Elizabeth Mott – Tints & Sass
  • bareMinerals – 5 in 1 BB Advanced Performance Cream Eyeshadow Broad Spectrum SPF 15
  • POP Beauty – Sunkissed Bronzer

DSCN2727Pūr-lisse – Pūr-protect Essential Daily Moisturizer – SPF 30

I’m very fair skinned, so anything with sunscreen is always appreciated!

This moisturizer is the perfect size to take in my purse when I go on a little adventure!

DSCN2735Clear Clinic Laboratories – Vanished Clear Spot Treatment

I’m pretty excited to try this spot treatment!

The spot treatment I currently use is a gel, and this one is a liquid.  I’m interested to see the difference in performance!

DSCN2720Elizabeth Mott – Tints & Sass – Cherry – FULL SIZE

I’ve never heard of Elizabeth Mott, but I’m excited to try her products!

I was pleasantly surprised to see that this product is full size! I looked on their website and this tint retails for $22.99!

I’m not a fan of cheek stains (I had an incident!!), but I do love lip colors!  This one is the perfect red for me!!

DSCN2729bareMinerals – 5 in 1 BB Advanced Performance Cream Eyeshadow Broad Spectrum SPF 15 – Divine Wine

This is the product I was looking forward to the most! It is also the product that disappointed me the most!

DSCN2737It came in this packaging, which is a dead giveaway that it was free!

This sample is the length and width of my pinky!! (I have really skinny fingers!!)

Come one Ipsy!!

bareMinerals was the big ticket item in this month’s bag and I just can’t believe how small it is!

DSCN2707POP Beauty – Sunkissed Bronzer – Secret Sunshine – FULL SIZE

Once again, I have very fair skin.  I’m very comfortable with my paleness, so I don’t feel the need to tan or bronze!  If I were into that sort of thing then this product would be fantastic.  Since I’m not, this product is a miss for me!

DSCN2699This month wasn’t great, but it also wasn’t horrible!!

I’m going to review my products and hope that IpsyMatch does a better job next month!

What did you get in your bag?! Are you also disappointed with the bareMinerals?! Let me know with a comment below!!

Ipsy Review – June 2014

Hi everyone!!

I just got my first Ipsy bag, and I can’t wait to share it with you!!

Ipsy is a beauty subscription service that sends you 4-5 deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products each month for only $10!

I found out about Ipsy six months ago, and I’ve wanted to try it ever since.  I was on the wait list for several months before I (awkwardly) posted on Facebook to skip the wait!

Would you like to be an Ipsy subscriber?! Follow this link to get more information and sign up!

ImageI went home for Father’s Day weekend, so I didn’t receive my bag until I returned to my apartment on Sunday evening.  I was pretty excited when I saw the shiny pink envelope in my mailbox!

Image“Pretty in Paradise”  is the theme for June!

ImageMy bag included:

  • Rebecca Minkoff makeup bag
  • Be A Bombshell – Lash Out Mascara
  • Marc Anthony – Dream Waves Beach Spray
  • NYX – Butter Gloss – Éclair
  • Jesse’s Girl – Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner
  • OLEHENRIKSEN – truth to go wipes

ImageI absolutely LOVE the makeup bag this month!  It’s Rebecca Minkoff and super adorable!  The pineapples are perfect for a summery paradise theme!

ImageBe A Bombshell – Lash Out Mascara – FULL SIZE

I’ve really been wanting to try a new mascara, so I’m pretty happy to have received this is my bag!

One odd thing about this mascara is that is has a strong garlic smell if you put the wand near your nose!  GROSS!!

I suffered through the weird smell to try out the mascara and it’s actually pretty nice.  You can’t smell the funky garlic when it’s applied to your lashes.

ImageMarc Anthony – Dream Waves Beach Spray

This spray smells amazing!! It’s very coconut-y!!

The instructions say to apply the spray to either damp or dry hair.

I tried it out on my dry hair and it didn’t really do much for me.  I have very straight, fine hair, so that’s probably why it didn’t work! Oh well!! I’ll see if any of my friends can use it!

ImageNYX – Butter Gloss – Éclair – FULL SIZE

This product has been getting great reviews and I understand why!! I love the smooth (and buttery) formula!

The gloss also has a subtle sweet smell that I really like!

Éclair is the perfect color for me!  It’s a light pink that is very natural and perfect for everyday wear!

ImageJesse’s Girl – Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner – Black – FULL SIZE

I’ve never worn liquid eyeliner, but this one seems nice!  It has a very fine tip, which will be good for achieving the perfect line!

I’m kind of a spazz, so when I tried it out on my eyelid the line was rather wavy!  Oh well, practice makes perfect!!

ImageOLEHENRIKSEN – truth to go wipes – 10 count

I’ve recently started using makeup remover wipes, and I was pretty excited to see these in my June bag!

The excitement dissipated when I smelled them.  At first, the wipes smelled pleasantly like oranges.  Then, after smelling them the whole time I was cleaning my face, the smell started to make me sick.  It was an unbearable combination of sugar and citrus.  I figured the smell would go away after a few minutes, but it did not.  I smelled the sweet, citrus scent until I took a shower and washed my face again!

I think I’m going to save these wipes for emergency purposes only!!

ImageI’m very pleased with my first Ipsy bag, and I can’t wait to see what I get next month!!
