Eyeshadow 101 – Warm Gold Shimmer

This eyeshadow stick is a crème to powder formula!  I have two other Eyeshadow 101s and a very similar product from Nars.

IMG_8344

Each Eyeshadow 101 stick has shadow on one end and a smudger tool on the other.

I like how this product has a smudger on one end!  It makes blending the shadow so easy!

IMG_8346

I went ahead and swatched the shadow for you.

I know my hand looks rather red in the picture, but I have very fair skin!

The gold shadow has a great shimmer to it but isn’t to harsh for me!  I love it!

IMG_8336

Nail Polishes

Meghan – Classic With a Twist – Flaming Red Crème

Shortly after opening my box, I painted my toes with this beautiful red polish!

I would classify this red to be more orangey and less of a true red.  I still love it though!

It really POPS against my skin tone and is perfect for springtime!

Kay – Classic With a Twist – Warm Taupe With Gold Microshimmer

I haven’t used this polish yet, but I think it’s going to be a great neutral for me! I really love its subtle shimmer!

Perhaps I’ll paint my toenails with Kay when Meghan chips off!

IMG_8332

Here is this month’s quote and coupon!

As always, the coupon is good for two uses!  The expiration date is a little different though!  This coupon doesn’t expire until April 15th!  What a deal?!

I’m very pleased with my February box!  I’ve already used two out of the three products!

Eyeshadow 101

The featured makeup product for the October box are these cream-to-powder eyeshadow sticks!

I love the other cream-to-powder Julep product I have, so I was super excited when they came out with these!

IMG_5552Champagne Shimmer

Each stick comes with the shadow on one end and a smudger on the other.

This shadow color is a great neutral!  The champagne color is so pretty and perfect for day or night!

They’re a little hard to use with my daily eyeshadow primer, so I’ve been going without on the days that I wear them.  Other than that, they are great!

IMG_5555Taupe Shimmer

I decided to add this shadow on to my box this month.

I like to use this darker shadow in my crease and use the lighter on my lid.  They look very pretty together!

The smudger is great for making sure the shadow isn’t too dark in my crease!

IMG_5534Jocelyn – Classic With a Twist – Cranberry Shimmer with Holographic Microglitter

I have this polish painted on my fingers right now, and it’s so pretty!

It’s a little dark for the Florida weather right now, but in a few weeks, it should be perfect!

Arielle – Classic With a Twist – Smoked Fig Crème

This polish is also pretty and fall-y!

I think it’s going to look great on my toes!

IMG_5545Here’s this month’s quote and coupon!

Free polish! Wooo!!

I love the October Maven box!  The products are awesome and so are the colors!

POPSUGAR Must Have Review – June 2015

Hi everyone!

It’s time for my monthly POPSUGAR Must Have review! IMG_0672To receive fun goodies each month like I do, click here!! IMG_2421I didn’t have enough self-control to avoid the spoilers for this box! Whoopsie! 🙂 IMG_2522Each box comes with a card full of details on each product. IMG_2422Box Contents:

  • Spongellé – Boxed Flowers – Fleur en Boîte
  • Yogitoes – Peacock hBand
  • Pacifica – Enlighten Eye Brightening Shadow Palette
  • Quay Australia – Mandate Sunglasses
  • Judy Blume’s In the Unlikely Event
  • SNAP Infusion – SUPERCANDY
  • Sweet & Spark – $30 Gift Card

IMG_2494Spongellé – Boxed Flowers – Fleur en Boîte – Retail Value $16

I absolutely LOVE this body wash infused sponge!  It smells amazing and the flower shape is adorable!

The sponge is a little rough, which makes it perfect for exfoliating!

I have a feeling that I will continue to use the sponge even after all the soap washes out! IMG_2502Yogitoes – Peacock hBand – Retail Value $4

I think this headband is adorable! I never wear exercise headbands though, so I was a little self-conscious when I wore it to the gym.  My friend, Lindsey, said I looked cute, but I’m still on the fence!

I’ll have to give it another try and see if I like it better the second time! IMG_2510Pacifica – Enlighten Eye Brightening Shadow Palette – Retail Value $14

I love eyeshadow palettes, but unfortunately, only one of these shadow colors works for me.

I like the shadow on the far left, but the others are just too dark or oddly colored for my skin tone.

I’ll have to see if these shadows work for any of my friends! IMG_2505Quay Australia – Mandate Sunglasses – Retail Value $45

Like most girls, I can always use another spare pair of sunglasses!

I was surprised with how lightweight these are, and I love that they came with their own protective case. IMG_2516Judy Blume’s In the Unlikely Event – Retail Value $27.95

I’ve read the plot summary several times, and this sounds like a good beach read (or just a laying on the couch read!)

I’ve been reading on a Kindle for almost five years now, so I have a feeling my hand will cramp when I start reading this book!  So pathetic, but it will! IMG_2497SNAP Infusion – SUPERCANDY – Retail Value $4

I already ate the green, sour pack, and the candies were very yummy!

I really like the idea of a “healthy” candy! IMG_2487Sweet & Spark – $30 Gift Card

I don’t typically like it when my subscription boxes come with gift cards, but this gift card is the exception!

Sweet & Spark is online site that sales curated vintage jewelry.  How cool is that?!

I’ve found several pieces that I like, so I need to hurry up and purchase one before they sell out.  There’s only one of each item, so it’s very possible that they could sell out of everything I like if I don’t act quickly! IMG_2431Aside from the funky eyeshadow colors, I’d say that June was a hit!

The total retail value of this box is $140.95!  That’s a great value!

I can’t wait to see what July has to offer!

You can never have too many pink nail polishes!  Amanda is perfect for summer and every other season too!  I can definitely see myself wearing this polish all the time!

Shelby – Classic with a Twist – Navy Ink Crème

This polish is very pretty! I think I’ll paint it on my toes soon!

Moni – Boho Glam – Coastal Blue Crème

Moni is so fun for summer!  I have it painted on my fingernails right now, and I love it!  It’s very bright and very cheerful!

IMG_0437Feels Like Velvet Full-Coverage Eye Shadow Duo – 5th Avenue & Broadway

I love eye shadow, so I was super excited when I found out that it was the featured beauty product this month!  I was so excited that I bought two!

5th Avenue & Broadway is perfect for everyday wear.  My favorite eye shadows are champagne colored, so this duo is perfect for me!

IMG_0444Feels Like Velvet Full-Coverage Eye Shadow Duo – Coconuts & Cabanas

Coconuts & Cabanas is much more pigmented than 5th Avenue & Broadway, so it’ll be better for nighttime wear.

I wasn’t expecting this shadow to be more pigmented than the other one, so I got it all over the place the first time I applied it!  Whoopsie daisy!

IMG_0447It’s Balm (Plush Pout) – Fuchsia Berry Crème

I loved the Plush Pout I received in my September box, so I decided to get another one this month.

IMG_0449I went with fuchsia berry this month, and I love it!  The color is fantastic and super long wearing!

IMG_0464Doublestep Foot Treatment & Friction Stick

Julep has a promotion that if you add on three or more items to your monthly box, you receive a free gift.  Since I added on three items this month, I got a gift!

I’m a religious user of Band-Aid Friction Block, so I know I’ll get lots of use out of this product.

I’ve been using it for it’s treatment benefits for the last few days, and so far, it’s working great!

IMG_0461Here’s the coupon code and quote for May.

As usual, the coupon is good for two uses and expires May 31st.

What did you think of the May collection?!

Ipsy Review – April 2015

Hi everyone!

It’s time for my monthly Ipsy review! IMG_9875Pretty in pink! IMG_9881I really like the makeup back this month!  It’s so colorful and fun! IMG_9883The theme for April is “Beautifully Bohemian.” IMG_9886Bag Contents:

  • MicaBeauty – Eye Primer
  • theBalm Cosmetics – NUDE Dude Eyeshadow Single
  • Mullein & Sparrow – Mini Lip & Cheek Tint
  • Gallany Cosmetics – Lipstick
  • JulieG – Nail Color

IMG_9898MicaBeauty – Eye Primer

I don’t like beauty products that require you to stick your fingers in a tub.  I know that’s kind of weird, but I don’t like digging my nails into products.

Also, products are usually difficult to get out of the tubs. This primer is no different.  I’m having a hard time getting enough product out of the tub to be able to apply it.  What I have managed to get out of the tub is very thick and hard to blend.IMG_9895theBalm Cosmetics – NUDE Dude Eyeshadow Single – Fit

I love the packaging of this eyeshadow!  It’s so unique and cute!

This eyeshadow has great pigmentation, and the bronze color is a good neutral! IMG_9902Mullein & Sparrow – Mini Lip & Cheek Tint

Another product in a tub. 🙁

This tint smells oddly of chocolate and fruit.  An interesting combination for a beauty product.

The tint is very sheer but much easier to get out of the tub than the eye primer above. IMG_9912Gallany Cosmetics – Lipstick – Petal

This lipstick has a very intense “makeup-y” smell. IMG_9908Petal is a great color for me!  It’s a very pretty, rosy pink. IMG_9905JulieG – Nail Color – Damsel

This nail polish is the perfect pink for summertime.

Since I subscribe to Julep, I told Ipsy (on my beauty quiz) that I didn’t want to receive nail polish from them.  So many people have had problems with the responses to their beauty quizzes that I figured I’d get nail polish all the time.  I’m pretty surprised that I was able to go almost a year without receiving any! IMG_9917

April was an okay month for Ipsy.  I like the bag and the eyeshadow.  The lipstick is okay, but because of the smell, I don’t think I’ll end up using it.

I’ve been pretty disappointed with Ipsy in the last few months, so I’ve decided to cancel my subscription.

I’ll continue to read other bloggers’ reviews, and if Ipsy improves, I will most likely subscribe again!

What do you think of the April bag?  Or Ipsy in general?

Ipsy Review – January 2015

Hi guys!

It’s time for my monthly Ipsy review! IMG_7333It’s always a good day when I get one of these in the mail! IMG_7334 The January theme is “Fresh Start.”

I like the bag for January.  It’s plastic like all the others, but it’s a softer, nicer plastic.

My friend, Racheal, said that her bag smelled overwhelmingly of plastic.  I didn’t smell a thing even after giving my bag a thorough sniffing! IMG_7336I was surprised to see that this bag is a different color on the other side.

I prefer the blue side, but the two colors gives the bag an element of fun! IMG_7340Bag contents:

  • Nourish Organic – Renewing Eye Cream
  • (MALIN+GOETZ) – Mojito Lip Balm
  • Elizabeth Mott – All Over Shadow Brush
  • BelláPierre – Shimmer Powder
  • Pacifica – Natural Mineral Coconut Eye Shadow

IMG_7345Nourish Organic – Renewing Eye Cream

This eye cream was a featured product in the December bag as well as the January one.  I don’t understand why Ipsy would give out the same product two months in a row.  That just seems odd to me.  Thank goodness I didn’t receive this eye cream in my bag both months!

I have a lot of eye creams on my bathroom counter right now, so I’ll be throwing this one into the mix.

One difference I noticed between the Nourish eye cream and the other ones I have is that the Nourish one is a lot lighter and thinner of a cream.  I’m not an expert on eye cream, so I have no idea if that makes it better or worse than the others. IMG_7346(MALIN+GOETZ) – Mojito Lip Balm

I’m a huge Burt’s Bees chapstick fan, so I’m not used to the gel formula of this lip balm. That being said, the (MALIN+GOETZ) seems very nice.

The balm has a very subtle scent, which I like.  I don’t like it when my lip products have a strong smell.  I find that to be overwhelming!

I was surprised to see this balm featured in another beauty box this month!  Apparently more companies than just Ipsy thinks this product is great! IMG_7349Elizabeth Mott – All Over Shadow Brush

I love to try out different makeup brushes, so I was excited to see this product in my January Glam Room!

I received a different eyeshadow brush in my September Ipsy bag, and I prefer that one.  It’s a duet brush that features both a shadow and a crease brush.

Even though I prefer the other brush, this one is still nice! The bright pink color is very fun! IMG_7352BelláPierre – Shimmer Powder – Excite

This loose shadow powder has intense pigmentation!  That would be a great feature if the powder wasn’t shockingly white!

I have no idea when I would ever wear this shadow!  It is super white and super duper shimmery! Yikes!

Also, the packaging is different than what I was shown in my Glam Room. IMG_7359Pacifica – Natural Mineral Coconut Eye Shadow – Treasure

Unlike the BelláPierre Shimmer Powder, I like this eyeshadow.

I applied it all over my eyelid the other day, but I think next time I’ll just use it in the crease.

Ipsy offered two different shades of Pacifica eye shadow this month.  I would’ve preferred the other one, but this one is still good! IMG_7362I’m pretty happy with my January Ipsy bag!  How do you like yours?! Bow signature pink

Julep Maven Review & Coupon – December 2014

Hi everyone!

It’s time for my monthly, Julep Maven review!

DSCN3619If you’d also like to receive these pretty, purple boxes every month, click here!

DSCN3623Box Contents:

  • Ilga – Classic with a Twist – Rich Bordeaux Crème
  • Sienna – Classic with a Twist – Sophisticated, Shimmery Gold
  • Orbital Eyeshadow – Airglow – Champagne Pearlescent with Rose Gold
  • Two Peppermints
  • Coupon

DSCN3641December features “The Countdown Collection.”

DSCN3626I love both of my polishes this month!  Both are perfect for the Christmas season!

Sienna – Classic with a Twist – Sophisticated, Shimmery Gold

I haven’t tried out this gold polish yet, but I’m hoping to soon!  It’s perfect for an accent nail or polka dots!

I read online that this color was reintroduced for the December box.  I don’t like the fact that they recycled Sienna, but I won’t be too upset until I get a duplicate.

Ilga – Classic with a Twist – Rich Bordeaux Crème

My fingernails and toenails are both painted with Ilga right now!  It’s such a classic, dark red.  I absolutely love it!

DSCN3635Orbital Eyeshadow – Airglow – Champagne Pearlescent with Rose Gold

This eyeshadow is beautiful! There were quite a few different colors offered, and I was very pleased to see that the one chosen for me is one of my favorite shades!

It’s more glittery than the shimmer shadows that I usually wear, but I still love it!

DSCN3642As usual, Julep included a coupon in the box.  This one is good for two uses and expires January 31, 2015!

What did you get in your December box? Are you in love with your polishes too?!

Ipsy Review – October 2014

Hi everyone!

It’s time for my monthly Ipsy review!

DSCN3376Do you want to be an Ipsy subscriber?! Click here!!

DSCN3384I was rather disappointed in Ipsy this month.  There were very few brands that I’d even heard of being offered for October.

One of my favorite things to do is stalk Facebook at the beginning of the month to see the sneak peeks.  All of the sneak peeks for October made me sad.

I’m also not a huge fan of the makeup bag this month.  I like the color, but the material is very cheap.

Products:

  • Épicé International – Purifying Exfoliant
  • Figs & Rouge – Hand Cream
  • Jesse’s Girl – Mineralized Baked Shadow Powder
  • Starlooks – Lip Gloss
  • ECRU New York – Acacia Protein BB Cream – Beauty Balm for Hair

DSCN3388The October theme is “Beauty Candy.”  I’m not sure what classified these products as candy though.

DSCN3390Épicé International – Purifying Exfoliant

I’m a very loyal product user and I already have a daily exfoliant.  I probably won’t be trying this product.  I will see if one of my friends want it though!

DSCN3407Figs & Rouge – Hand Cream – Mango Mandarin

I absolutely love this colorful packaging!  It’s so fun and pretty!

The Mango Mandarin scent is okay.  The smell is very familiar, but I just can’t place it!

Out of the five products I received this month, this hand cream is my favorite.

DSCN3397Jesse’s Girl – Mineralized Baked Shadow Powder – Graphite Frost

I love eyeshadow, but I am not a huge fan of this color.

I prefer golds and browns and this one is a silvery gray.  It’s a step up from the purple shadow I got last month though!

DSCN3405Starlooks – Lip Gloss – Guilty Pleasure

This gloss reminds me of the NYX Butter Gloss I received in my first Ipsy bag over the summer.  Except the NYX gloss was larger and I liked it better.

DSCN3413ECRU New York – Acacia Protein BB Cream – Beauty Balm for Hair

Before getting this product, I didn’t realize that there was such a things as BB cream for hair.

The box says it’s a styling lotion.  I don’t ever do anything with my hair, so I don’t think I’ll be getting much use out of this product either.

DSCN3418All in all, I’m pretty disappointed with my October Ipsy bag.

I’ve seen a promising sneak peek for November, so let’s hope that pans out!

How did you like your October Ipsy?!

Ipsy Review – September 2014

Hi everyone!!

It’s time for my monthly Ipsy review!!

DSCN3157If you’re not an Ipsy subscriber and want to be, click here!

DSCN3161The September theme is “Street Style.”

I’m not liking the September theme or makeup bag at all!

If you know me at all, you’d know that “Street” is most certainly NOT my style!

DSCN3166This month’s bag featured five products!

  • NYX – Hot Singles Eye Shadow
  • Pacifica – Natural Water-Proof Eye Pencil
  • Crown Brush – Infinity Shadow/Crease Duet Brush
  • Hikari – Lipstick
  • Briogeo – Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask

DSCN3192NYX – Hot Singles Eye Shadow – Arrogance

I love eyeshadow, but I don’t ever see myself using this purple color! There were 11 possible color options, and I lucked out with purple! Yay me!!

DSCN3188Pacifica – Natural Water-Proof Eye Pencil – Fringe

I’ve never tried the Pacifica brand, so I’m interested to see how well it works!

It seems to create to a nice line but also smears quite easily.

DSCN3179Crown Brush – Infinity Shadow/Crease Duet Brush

I’ve been wanting a crease brush, so I was really excited to see one in my bag this month!

I used it this morning, and it worked really well!

DSCN3176Hikari – Lipstick – Cabernet

I really like the color of this lipstick, but I don’t really like the formula.

When I tried it on, it seemed pretty dry even with lip balm underneath.

DSCN3170Briogeo – Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask

I don’t have much use for a repairing hair mask, so this product will probably be given to a friend!

DSCN3197For me, September was mostly a month of misses!

The only product I love is the eyeshadow brush.  The eyeliner isn’t horrible, but it’s also not fantastic.

I’m hoping October brings much better things than September!

How about you? What did you think of your September Ipsy bag?!
