It’s Thursday, which means it’s time for another Busy Book printable! Say hello to the dots and boxes game printable freebie! While making this printable, I discovered that this game is also called Pigs in a Pen, Dot to Dot, Squares, and much, much more! Whatever you like to call it, it’s fun, easy to play, and can get intense if you play with the right people!
If you’re unfamiliar with Dots & Boxes, here is how you play according to Wikipedia:
“Starting with an empty grid of dots, two players take turns adding a single horizontal or vertical line between two unjoined adjacent dots. The player who completes the fourth side of a 1×1 box earns one point and takes another turn. (A point is typically recorded by placing a mark that identifies the player in the box, such as an initial.) The game ends when no more lines can be placed. The winner is the player with the most points.”
What is a Busy Book?
If you’re a newsletter subscriber, then you know all about this! If not (sign up here!), here’s a brief explanation! This summer, I will be releasing printables each week that can be put together in a mini binder to create a Busy Book, which will provide hours and hours of entertainment for your little ones while you travel this summer and beyond!
Printables in this series will include coloring pages, games, and more! Each printable will fit perfectly in a mini binder or an A5 planner! I chose to make everything in this series A5 size so you could easily (and cheaply) purchase mini binders for your children!
You can find mini binders pretty much anywhere binders are sold. My favorites are from the Target Dollar Spot and Amazon.
