Hello Crafters!

Those of you that follow me on Instagram (if you’re not already, follow me @pinkbowstwinkletoes) have seen several posts in the last few weeks featuring some homemade greeting cards.

I love how all of my greeting cards have turned out, so I figured I’d write up a little tutorial for you all!

When I say making these cards is super easy, I mean super duper easy peasy! You can make several cards in 10 minutes or less!

Supplies:

Cardstock (I used white, but you can use a color if you prefer)
Paper trimmer or scissors
Ink pads
Stamps
Markers (I like Staedtler Dual Tips)
Ruler (optional)
Pencil (optional)

Step 1:

Take a sheet of cardstock and cut it in half lengthwise creating two strips.

Step 2:

To make a folding card, fold each strip in half.

To make flat cards, cut each strip in half.

I’ll be making both types of cards in this tutorial!

Here are the stamps I’ll be using for my cards.

I bought these at Michaels several years ago. The season was changing, so everything in their spring collection was one sale. I went a little crazy (who doesn’t love clearance?!) and bought every stamp set I could find from this collection. I have about eight packs! 🙂

I love the watercolor ink look, so I’m using two pink inks and an orange one for my first owl.

Step 3:

Take your ink pads and apply each color randomly to your stamp.

If you’re using a light ink and several dark ones (like me!), I suggest using the light ink first and then applying the dark inks. Going in that order prevents you from ruining your light colors with dark ones.

Step 4:

Stamp it!

I chose to use this owl on a folding card, so I stamped my image on the right side of the opened card. I find folded cards easier to stamp when they are opened up.
